  2. But also how great was it being a young supporter in those days. I'd get excited my grandparents would send me reports on friendly matches in the post
  3. Crazy how I remember all those games. Che nostalgia.

I like that you always post early in the morning. I picture you making yourself a coffee and rolling the maps out on the table.
  6. Yes, immigration is used to plug gaps in our economy from years of chronic underinvestment and Brexit. This is not an optimal situation, not least because it assumes those immigration flows will stay the same. Basing the survival of your economy and society on yearly net migration of nearly 3/4 million people is perhaps not the greatest long term strategy.
  7. UK migration is significantly higher than comparable European countries which are not collapsing
  8. Feels like there are riots in England every few summers. Those are the summers when we're not rioting abroad. The Anglo Saxon malfunctions when exposed to excess vitamin D.

Looks like I remembered the release date of Love Secrets of the Kama Sutra the best. Shame on you all.
  10. You appear to be the only one describing female athletes as "slappable"
  11. The best reason to cut down on social media for sure
  12. Too much of it is definitely bad for your health. But as a place to get a wide range of views and perspectives I think it's unmatched.
  13. Twitter is hard to give up because there is so much genuinely interesting stuff on it, but also because almost every day you come across some absolute insanity that gives you a window into the dustiest corners of the human psyche
  14. Definitely - No personality, big tit.
  15. I remember the Portsmouth riots in 2000 I think? That was insane.

  18. You know more about climate change and shit than I do but surely in regards to 'infinite growth on a finite planet' a lot of the problems historically have been created precisely by forces that operate above and beyond national borders. Maybe devolution, local government, or even going back to the city state are better solutions. Talking about global solutions always feels to me a bit... imperialist?
  19. Oh shit, terrible news. Too young. The team that he, NP and Walsh put together is and will remain our greatest ever. And then he was an integral part of the greatest football story ever. He will quite rightly be remembered for that monumental achievement. May he rest in peace.
  20. Best not to start on Anglo-Indians as well...
  21. I believe that first and second generation migrants from the ex-Empire saw themselves as British, or British-Indian, British-Jamaican, but almost never English. That's changed in recent years, partially due to football to be honest. I would dissolve the union just to avoid all this confusion. I see myself as English and would like a passport that says the same thing, though that seems unlikely to happen in my lifetime.
  22. I think we're mixing up all sorts of things here. There is citizenship and there is ethnicity. Then there are names, which are linguistic (sounds like your mates name will probably be English), and now you're bringing in 'nationality'. For all I know the attacker may feel ethnically Welsh, maybe speaks some Welsh. Maybe not.
  23. hmm, that's not how I understood that document tbh.
  24. I seem to vaguely remember Balotelli getting citizenship on his 18th birthday.
