we need an academic paper on teary, piano-soundtracked compilations of well wishes from friends and family before big sporting events as a byproduct of British anxiety over our country's relative economic and political decline.

They started to get famous my last year there, which was quite good fun. Saw the drummer a couple of times out and about. Watching bands at a pub I sometimes went to - the Grapes maybe? But was never really a massive fan of their music.

I have observed both in my own family and also working in education issues with the social and educational development of young people that I think can only be put down to the lockdown. Yes Britain and France have quite different approaches, instinctively I quite like the French approach but don't know to what extent it's more 'successful'.

Is there any evidence for this? That's a genuine question by the way, not being passive aggressive or anything. Would genuinely be interested to see some comparison.
