Palace vs Leicester - Pre match thread (14th September 3pm)
Larry_LCFC replied to FoxinNotts's topic in Leicester City Forum
How are the players suppose to know what his gameplan is if he doesn't haven't a clue himself? He's not a defensive manager, or an attacking manager, it's just a mess. We've had a lifeline in not getting points deducted and what nearly every fan wants to see is us just go for it this season. We really do have nothing to lose. This utter unambitious dross he churns out makes no sense whatsoever. -
3 games in, 1 point, overall assessment …

We've got the players to keep us up but he hasn't got the starting lineup right once yet. Mavididi, Buonanotte and Ricky should be starting. We are far too negative. This season is going to be beyond hard as it is and we need points. We need to stop showing teams so much respect and just go for it. I'd rather get relegated having thrown the bus at it than go down anyway with a whimper. -

I'm afraid the rot in this club is so deep now, we are going to freefall into relegation unless everything is stripped back to nothing. You look at the squad we have and there is literally zero planning for the future - Reid and Ayew, really? Absolute madness I'm afraid. How we have got into this terrible position with no heads rolling is criminal and corrupt. Cooper will pick up the odd point but his signature wasn't about ambition. He is out of his depth. -
That's what makes it sickening. We were well on the right path and thanks to some incredibly shocking decisions at the club with signings, managers and wages, they have ****ed us.
-
It's funny, after we won the title, with the vision and resources we had, I expected us to be well established and pushing the top 8 consistently in 2024. Pretty much what Newcastle and Villa are achieving now. Instead, we are in financial turmoil, our squad is substandard after we had to sell our best players, our signings are quite frankly pathetic and our manager would be well suited in the Sunday league. Playing 3 attackers in their 30s? Vardy all day long but the other 2 shouldn't be near this team. Leicester City is quite frankly a joke.
-
Another reactive manager...make the double change when we go behind. Give me strength.
-
We are like a retirement home for washed players Reid being replaced by Ayew.... comedy.
-
Reid is absolutely pants. How is he starting ahead of Mav? Madness.
-
Reid and Kristiansen are not premier league standard and should not be in this team, it's as simple as that. This is ****ing painful.
-
Shocking defending that. Total free reign down that side. Crap. Just crap.
-
Needed to be Mavididi for me. Just a more punchy, pacey and dangerous player.
-
A really ****ing weird signing. He's been washed for several years.

First half he was terrible. Gave the ball away a ridiculous amount and just got bullied. -

On a positive(ish) note, it's a point we can chalk off the deduction. Need to get as many on the board as possible whilst teams are sat on less than 10. Then they are all catchable. -

First half abysmal - too passive, too nervous and let Spurs run rings around us. Ndidi had an absolute shocker. Lucky not to be 5-0 down and better teams would have punished us. Second half we were the better team and had it not been for that 9 minute pause, I think we'd have won. Love Vardy and the tornado that follows him. Like a totally different team. Why is Cannon so hated by managers? Really don't get it. -
Fuvk me, Ndidi is utter garbage. What the hell happened to him?
-
Oh Cooper. You plonker 😆

Weird isn't it, we are promoted back to the Premier league and we kick off the season against Spurs at home...should be absolutely buzzing. I've honestly never felt so deflated and defeated before a ball has been kicked in my life. A manager that doesn't know what to do with the limited players he's got, and a club that are totally inept in signing any decent ones. What a tragic situation to be in. Going for a 3-0 Spurs. -
This is exactly why we are in the terrible position we are. Expensive knee jerk signings with no real benefit to the squad or our prospects.
-
Massively deflated. Our complete inability to get signings across the line, the recruitment of a seemingly average at best manager, crippling financial breaches, an out of touch board, a seriously underpowered squad. Arguably a freak accident that killed the the best chairman we could ever hope for, killed his dreams aswell. The success we would have continued to have with Vichai died with him that day. Top has tried to keep his fathers legacy going but ultimately this was nothing more than a side project that he felt he had to continue. I think we all know deep down, the season is a going to be nothing short of a disgrace.
-
One of footballs good guys. Hope the club do something to honour him permanently.

Really don't see the issue with a gambling company acting as a sponsor. If somebody finds the need to gamble because they read a betting company on a football shirt, then they are going to bet regardless of what triggers it. Blaming a sponsor really is clutching at straws trying to justify their behaviour. Exactly the problem with today's nanny state society, nobody takes responsibility for their own actions - always looking to shift the blame.
