Gone but not forgotten and certainly not the death list

Fake news. Chuck Norris beat Death in several one-on-ones. Chuck Norris is immortal. Chuck Norris simply faked his demise and lives as a monk from hereon. Chuck Noriss doesn't fear Death, Death fears Chuck Norris. -
Dead Man's Shoes is getting a Blu-ray update (Source: Second Sight Films). Shame they couldn't locate the original 16mm film. No 4K upgrade, then. Big fan of Shane Meadows. Coincidentally. he's got a new movie, Chork, coming out this year.

.. not taken seriously.

Speaking of Liz Corney, this one is a banger: Very reminiscent of Braids.
-
And Leonard Cohen.

Most of these bands have been around for 10+ years. Get lost in the scene, it's worth it. And I can't believe I forgot Arcade Fire in that list.

I'm glad I've stumbled upon Liz Corney (Field Music). Phenomenal debut album from 2024: Just something magical about that Northeast music scene.
-
if you're into microtonal math rock, say hello to Angine de Poitrine (from Saguenay, Québec, Canada):
-
Yes. If you've read the book, you will miss many elements, though. But you can only pack so much into a movie. And I think it's already slightly too long at 2,5 hours.
-
I've done a reverse move: After seeing Project Hail Mary and the praise for the source material, I've now downloaded the audio book. 20 hours of material, get in. Also helps when you get a free Audible trial.

One of my all-time favourites – ranks highly in my "most listened to": Elliott Smith before he became famous (until his untimely death).
-
My go-to station was CBC Radio 3 – until they cut off listeners outside of Canada about 10 to 15 years ago.
-
These must be mentioned, too:
-
This will be more to @spacemunky's liking. Remember these? Vancouver-based, the drummer plays with the New Pornographers (or used to)..
-
And how can one forget Esthero?
-
Staying in Canada, Chilly Gonzales must be mentioned (although he had moved to Berlin prior to the release of Gonzales Über Alles):
-
Speaking of another rather underrated Canadian band, may I suggest Thrush Hermit? @spacemunky No longer active – some may know Joel Plaskett, who went on to have a pretty successful solo career (to this day).
-
Big Sloan fan. Glad to see they're still active – and rocking! "Coax me" is probably their most beautiful and melodic tune, reminiscent of the Beatles. How about this one?

Just because a post about Suzanne Vega popped up in my FB feed:

Good in general to me means given the circumstances. He's better than Okoli and potentially a better defender than Faes. Yesterday's game to me was the first so far this season where Nelson royally fvcked up. He's also scored as many league goals as Winks and Skipp. I'm not sure we're going to see Vestergaard in a Leicester shirt again until August – my guess is he's out for the rest of the season. Speaking of which – one could also argue we've had incredible bad luck with injures to defenders this season. Vestergaard, Lascelles (big gamble from the get-go), Souttar, Kristiansen.
-
As will most fans.

The difference is, neither Okoli nor Nelson cost us £20m (plus add-ons). And then there is the wage issue... Besides, Ligue 1 is a mediocre league with mostly mediocre teams. Otherwise, PSG wouldn't be champions all the time. Just like Bayern in the Bundesliga. Also, other French teams don't do well in European competitions any longer. So Faes, who was a failure for us both in the Premier League and in the Championship (a total of 135 games), has played seven times for Monaco so far. That's fantastic – against powerhouses such as Brest, Angers and Nantes (a former shell of the team of times past). And in his first game, against Lorient, he was utterly diabolical. The guy is no defender. He wants to be a Belgian David Luiz, but fails miserably still. I wish him well. Don''t want that arrogant twat anywhere near LCFC ever again.
