I’ve ran long Eaton and i would agree it’s in the top ten Parkrun national quickest tracks, ran Poznan Saturday morning, beautiful single lapper with all minor peaks and dips. Felt like as I was repping the UK after the cliched six pints the night before -

I know I’m the parkrun rep here but that’s not a bad place either to start public running. Free event with a whole variety of ability and everyone is supportive. You most certainly won’t be last from what you’ve said too -
Was with a Villa fan last week who's been all the aways (or is going) he said he was disappointed not to get one of the big teams away.

It's not a surprise that we are failing in a format that the ECB decided wasn't worthy for their best players to be playing domestically. -
I read something that said the new format is a broadcasting issue cos BBC have the exclusivity of highlights and Amazon have exclusivity of their pick as well. Therefore there’s like a maximum duration of clip they can show and nothing of the Amazon game Still they ****ed it with the pundit choices

PUSB on twitter makes for lovely reading -
Literally picked two of the three I would have suggested!

Just looking at Brest's fixtures. They have Shakhtar & PSV (home), so a good chance of top 8. Real Madrid as last game which is a shame as they will need something. Barca next - if they had that as the last game, they might get something while Barca rest players.
-
PSG have a problem. Outside of the top 24, Bayern away and Man City home still to play. Alongside Salzburg and Stuttgart both away who will have something to play for

Love watching football there at the start and end of the season. Utterly awful from November to early March

There was no need to mention race or religion then.

good analysis here

I know Owen has a high bad take ratio but this demonstrates the issue of the US White man with privilege makes comment about someone for a cheap dig. It’s nuanced more than that and in the process it actually plays out as racism

They have the Hayes Complex about a ten minute drive away from Lye Meadow (next to Birmingham City's training ground). They literally have all sorts of facilities there and then a plot of land ready to have a new ground built on it with changing rooms etc already there. They have all their youth teams on it. They have been waiting five years for planning permission to be given at Lye Meadow for new housing.

What's the worst hills folk run up? Back when in my Birmingham based days, I did a lot of hill running by default due to being next to Cofton Park. One side of that I had a right harsh winding increase and then another 'wall' back into Longbridge. Now being local - Enderby/Croft/Huncote have a couple which are energy zappers. The hill either side of Countesthorpe/Sth Wigston can take it out of you. The Seine Lane little rise coming off the Whistle Way is a pain in the arse. Never felt Croft is too much of a problem. The worst hill I ever run up was Ashon Court Park Run in Bristol I think I mentioned on here after spending Good Friday drinking alcoholic apple juice. 2.5k up, 2.5k down. When I was a lot younger it was Groby Rd/Anstey Lane - and the hill coming past County Hall is horrible too. -
Yeah but Gary Barlow's lad is awfully huge isn't he?

I don't think it crashes - it's just whether it sustains the growth. Their ground as it stands at Step 2 would have real issues and would bring real logistical issues. In many ways remind me of Alvechurch nearby where I used to live. They moved onto a new facility just inside of Birmingham but they are in planning limbo regards the ground. Stevie B mentioned the old chairman - that's one of the reasons they aren't particularly liked across the county. He's the head of the Non-League System (and does all the league organising every May/June). So there's plenty of accusations that they had preferential treatment when it comes to claim for stadium grants etc. It's more likely he just knows the system very well and how to fulfil. (Although setting up your own 'consultancy' company on companies house is hardly a look). Doesn't help that he's old Leics FA Chief Exec, so often used to be arguing with other clubs when it comes to discipline etc.

The latter two in particular fit a narrative of ‘boys done good’ and ‘they were one of us’. Musk is a weird one. There is a wide held view with some of those Harris wheeled out that are not relatable and live in a millionaire bubble. Trump and his campaign could play on that - the same way we’ve saw over here with Brexit etc. Now those who supported Trump are exactly the same but it’s the perception.
-
I am only making one observation. The Harris campaign consistently wheeling out celebrities was not a good move (or SNL) and completely played into Trump’s rhetoric. An absolute shocker of a campaign ran by the Dems

Therefore the status quo stays. There's only one way of finding out.

Tbf 3 years is the period of time that the Football Supporters Association led as their guidance rather than anything suggested by an individual club or supporters organisation.

Hard to say at this moment in time. Ultimately though the foundation is that the Trust needs to be stronger and more representative to get traction. Club can ignore a small minority but if it gets bigger enough that local and national media sources are happy to listen, then it's a different beast. With the change at the trust occurring, it represents the largest chance to shape the Trust in what the wider fanbase want. We take this point of view from looking at how other trusts at clubs have evolved and developed. My personal view is that the Trust needs to work on its community angle. That's something I want to push along and see at other supporter trusts. There's no doubting that professional football clubs are business and they are going to take the feedback they want rather than received. So the goals of a supporters trust have altered in recent years in supporting the fanbase (and in default the city).

Just to say I have met Steve & Lynn on three occasions (I think) in total. Whilst not wanting to talk for them, they are exactly the characters you want in such a role. Lynn is passionate - season ticket holder to both men & women - had made efforts to meet with other fan groups and herself rejoined the trust about three years ago to give it a push in the right direction. Steve does a lot of work at a national level with the FSA which probably doesn't get highlighted enough. By his own admission, he's an example of how a fan has been alienated by football with its fixture changes which meant he dropped his season ticket and then finds the membership system an obstacle.
