Cheers - turned out to be the hard drive which was causing issues. Any suggestions for a good laptop hard drive? - need around 350GB-500GB space. -

Bit of a late reply but Orange have been pretty good to me but then again I have spent a bit of money with them in the 6 years I've been with them. You've always got to leave them till the last minute on some occasions and speak to two or different people. Also ringing the retentions department at the right time is always a good thing. Late in the evenings/or end of the week always helps as they look to meet their targets! Last time my contract was up I rang them and they offered a rubbish deal but then I rang again a few days later and they offered me a deal I couldn;t refuse. And then this time round, they rang me first! My contract was up in Jan and they rang me y saying they wanted to reward my loyalty etc so offered me a deal I couldn't really say no to. 800 mins, Unlimited texts and Internet for £20 which is £5 cheaper than what I was paying. And to top it off and was pretty much the deal clincher, they offered me any phone. I wanted to the HTC Desire HD but they said they didn't have any in stock so got the Galaxy S instead! Can't complain. It now also means I've had 3 of the big smartphones in the past month - I had the N8 for free from Nokia which will now be palmed of to a family member well known on these forums, an IPhone with work and now the Galaxy S!!

I think it shows how bad it is, I'm not even afraid of heights but that just wasn't right!
-
That is mental! Gave me the heebie jeebies just watching that,
-
I need some of what they're having!

Getting the N8 for free within the next few days and ready for when I get back to the UK! Got it completely free without a contract at all! The joys of being a valued customer...!

Try Spybot Search and Destroy and also look to re-install your browsers if need be. Another thing to look at is in CCleaner, take a look at the Startup Programs and remove any which seem linked to the Malware - feel free to post a screenshot on here with the list and I'll see if any are dodgy startup programs. -

Strange, seems to me its a wireless device issue. Whats the make and the model of the laptop and wireless device? -

A few things you could try: Re-install the drivers for your wireless card - Start > Control Panel > Device Manage > Network Adaptors > Right click on the driver and update software. If that doesn't kick off the re-install, just go to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers from there. Secondly, you could try and do the usual anti-virus / spyware stuff. So use your anti virus software to run a scan and then something like Spybot Search and Destroy. Also worth running CCleaner just to give the internet files a clear out. If that doesn't cure the issue then it might be the actual wireless card itself. Is it an external card or something built into the laptop? Not sure why it would stall the system though. Hope the first two suggestions work - another thing to try is if you have another wireless dongle then give that a go and see if you have the same issues. -
