  1. Do you have any good reason why we should continue to accept and celebrate being served the same slop we’ve been served for 2 seasons? We are in League One. I dont know how this doesnt compute with some people. Its about time these players, the manager and whoever else is held accountable and held to some standards. Your only argument back is some misguided sense of loyalty or honour. We dont have time for that now. We tried it your way for 2 seasons and look where we are now its time to put the pressure on and hold them accountable.
  2. And this is why they were boo’d and they deserve it. The only hysterical people on this forum are those rushing to defend the team, the manager and call for patience when the fans have been patient for 2 years and 80+ games and nothing has changed apart from the fact the opposition is worse.
  3. This is exactly it. Its the same story we’ve seen 80 times in a row, we know how it ends. 0 improvement in any department against inferior opposition. If anything the reaction is tamer than it should be.
  4. The only thing we as fans can do is stop being so passive to whats going on in the board room and on the pitch. They need to be held to standards and if they slip they should know about it and be held to account. The lack of accountability is one of the reasons the club is in the mess its in, fans have been too passive and in many cases have been more passionate (or even violent) in silencing what they see as dissenters. The bare minimum that should be happening is that Top and Rudkin are made to feel very unwelcome in the stadium on match days. Instead you still get fans now trying to touch Top like hes some sort of prophet.
  5. If this was the start of a Premier League and even a Championship season you’d have a point but its the start of a League One season and we yet again just watched the team churn out a result and performance that landed us in this mess. 0% progression 100% regression. We dont have the luxury to be able to play 800 passes, have 70ish% possession but only make one or two meaningful chances. We need to get out of this situation fast and playing the same way that got us here in the first place isnt helping and it needs calling out. The time for patience and niceties is over, the future of the club hangs in the balance.
  6. Pretty sure Wolves recalled him to sell him to Bolton? If he didnt get injured so much he would have been a very good Premier League player.
  7. I never boo’d Enzo actually. I was only critical of him of things that he did wrong as I do with all managers. The only issues i had with him was when he was putting 2 keepers on the bench before the transfer window closed and handicapping his ability to manage a game because he wanted to make a point and the other issue was that he did not respond well enough during that run from January to May when we limped to promotion and even then it was more that he needed to become more flexible to succeed in the Premier League. All that being said we were hard to watch under Enzo more times than not, he just managed to get us to grind out enough results.
  8. Those 3 teams you mentioned have 3 things in common, Pep. Everyone that has imitated him with playing possession football doesnt have the IQ or adaptability that he has and it has resulted in very very bad knock offs. Its just possession for possession sake and hoping it translates. Pep has adapted over the years very subtly but many of his admirers and imitators havent caught up or dont have the IQ to adapt as he has. Enzo i feel might be the closest and these next 6 months will either prove or disprove that.
  9. Can we drop the phrase ‘attractive football’ please. Its not attractive its been offending our eyes for the best part of 5 years. Even when we were successful under Enzo it was a hard watch and we had that horrid run. Its horrid, vile, disgusting antifootball and i’m sick of it being forced on us.
  10. They are stuck in a doom spiral because they’ve gotten so much wrong over the years on the football side of things the only positive they can cling onto is claiming moral superiority over their fellow supporters.
  11. There is a lot of cope on here because people are desperate to not acknowledge really truly how bad things have got and how little has been done to address the slide. In our first two competitive games against league 2/lower league 1 opposition we have approached the game in exactly the same manner we have that failed in the previous 80 games. We ‘dominated possession’ in almost every single game last season and we got relegated how can anyone not see that 2 games in we are doing exactly the same and expecting different results? I dread to see what the more capable teams in the division will do to us at the minute. We might not have lost but there are very very few positives to take from these performances considering the level of opposition.
  12. Can you blame the fans really? We’ve just seen the same flat performance with the same silly mistakes for the 70th game in a row. Each passing year the opposition gets worse but we dont seem to improve. It may not help these young lads but on the flip side if they cannot handle the expectation of performing against League One opposition then they will never make it as high level footballers.
  13. Of course i dont and i agree about the owners. But a combination of failures in his last few jobs and the position the club is in the onus is on Russell Martin to prove himself to us. We dont have time to be patient and he needs to be held to an almost impossible standard because the future of the club depends on it. It might be a little unfair but it is also the reality he finds himself in.
  14. The reality is that if he somehow pulled this off he would deserve a crack at the prem and would have unanimous support.
  15. You’re not wrong but its also extremely obvious to everyone besides those in charge of the club that this wasnt the right appointment for where we are as a club right now. We needed a pragmatic manager that can get the best out of what hes got on an low budget. Instead we’ve gotten a manager that isnt a motivator, is only interested in playing one way and is already making excuses in interviews about needing ‘experience’ despite our best players being young academy products. We keep getting forced into these decisions because the wrong appointments are made.
  16. Did his methods work at Southampton? Did they work at Rangers? No. Has he rocked up here with the same ideas as his previous 2 failures, yes. Are the team still playing in a way that has seen us slide to two back to back relegations? Yes. I’d have far more patience if we were unlucky in those performances but we were actually lucky, we are still creating very little, we are still defending clumsily and poorly and we are still stuck with a group of players that have 0 mental fortitude. We need to hit the ground running otherwise we wont be able to arrest the slide. Early signs are not good.
  17. A lot of these players were given contracts when we were a Premier League club. Its not moronic to think that once upon a time they were on that figure or higher. They might be on it now but they are likely on lower due to clauses but i doubt they are on insignificant sums and they are contributing to a situation that is unsustainable for the club. We cannot afford to be patient anymore. Performances need to happen, results need to happen. If they dont the club is finished. We are at the mercy of Maquire and they will not care what happens to this club they will only care about how they get their money back.
  18. Where is the evidence that i’m 25k a week out? If i’m being held to a certain standard then so should you. The truth is the figures are far more likely in the middle. Also our losses over a 3 year period were 180m up until the last report so again i wasnt 90m out. I actually said consistently we were making high multimillion pound losses per season but yes people want to be pedantic. The truth is, if these players took a drop on their wages and you’re saying they are on 25k that means just 3 months ago they were on 50k so its unfair to call me a bullshitter. Anyway the point is, you’re happy to argue about the exact nature of the figures but not address the main point is that these players are being over paid and are putting in performances that arent worthy and they deserve to be boo’d. The time for patience is over, the future of the club is at stake, its sink or swim and we cant afford passengers, if they dont like the booing they can give up their lofty contracts and leave and everyone will be happier.
  19. You’re both right but if RM cant get them doing this then is isnt the right man for the job and in the past 3 seasons hes had a job i’ve yet to see any evidence he will learn and be a success here. I want to be wrong but I just cant see it.
  20. I’m happy to debate people in good faith but being called a moron for not knowing the exact contract details of the players is not good faith. The overall point is that we are playing over paid dossers that are happy to be a financial drain on the club and they dont even look to be bothered or good enough for this level. Its frightening and the early signs are there now just like they were last season. Instead people have gotten angry about pennies and pounds and are looking to slap people down with slightly differing opinions so yes i am going to clap back.
  21. Finally an actual rational person in this thread. Be careful you’ll upset the good boys that want to be ‘patient’.
  22. If you dont like it mate hit the ignore button its not that difficult.
  23. Just because what i said isnt the exact figure it doesnt make me a gullible moron and the fact you dont engage in good faith shows that deep down you know the points im making are right but you’d rather bury your head in the sand and argue over ‘exact’ figures.
  24. Thank you thats really kind of you. But my point is that our fanbase has much more passion when it comes to fighting our own fans than to addressing any actual issue at the club.
  25. Ah my bad. Only a 70 million pound loss. Things arent that bad please ignore everything i’ve said. Things are good. Things are great, nothing to see here… 0 critical faculties yet every bloke on here is desperate to ignore the state the club is in because they want to be the most loyal and level headed supporter. yes as i said. Everything is fine. My figures might be slightly wrong. Its good to see how passionate our fanbase is to correct pounds and pennies yet have 0 passion for the state the club is in. Pathetic mentality when most of you show more passion and energy to be petty on the internet instead of for the state of the club.
