He’s a modern day midfield Cameron Jerome. One of the best players in his position at this level but cant quite make the same impact when making the step up. Unless we find a prime Moussa Dembele regen i’d get one last good season out of him then part ways as amicably as possible.

They are pretty much saying every manager has played him wrong and thats why he’s been bad.

Positive changes even if it were to rectify his own baffling decisions. Shows a level of humility not seen in recent managers. The real test is if he learns from this long term or not, i have a slight feeling he might also be purposely playing the board like Enzo did with his 3gks in the matchday squad trick a few seasons ago.

Are we still using his one half decent season in France to justify his performances in the year 2025? I thought this breed or person had died out.

Just for reference we were rock bottom and brought Huth for less, from a worse team, on the older side of his career after a bad injury and on less money and he did far more for the club than this waster ever has.

Its not a case of blaming him but he’s consistently performed poorly during his time here and if we had a different ownership he would have been sold a long time ago. What the season we nearly messed it up and he was constantly getting done by Championship strikers who let themselves down by poor finishing?

I think you’re missing the point, Luke Thomas has not been a consistent player in any sort of sustained success so he can’t be one of our best, he was here for good and bad times and it just averages him out at average. Wout Faes bas been a consistent performer in 2 of our worst ever seasons and more often than not he’s been at fault for many of the losses we’ve endured, part of it is not his fault, he should have been identified as a weakness and sold a long time ago but when it comes to transfer fee, wages, performance levels and results he’s been pound for pound one of the worst players in our history. Many other players of perceived lower ability never got the chance to be this bad for this long. Or they were freebies with very little expectations to begin with. Faes somehow is an international player.

I cant go through another season of people praising Vestergaard because hes turning out half decent performances in the second tier whilst drawing 75,000 a week from the club. He has unfortunately become one of the symbols of whats been wrong in the recent era, signing players with no resale value, that dont improve the squad and are on inflated wages that dont match their ability.

No hes the worst, theres not another defender in our history that was as a consistent performer in sides that were losing week in week out.

Again, 2 relegations, many poor performances, lots of mistakes and errors is not hyperbole. As i said its not based on footballing ability (but he is still a very bad footballer) its based on whats happened since he’s been one of our main CBs. Many other players that were worse than him in terms of ability didnt get 3 seasons worth of opportunities to show it.

Wouldnt say its too ridiculous, i think one of the problems we’ve had in recent seasons is players with poor attitudes putting in below par performances and not getting punished for it. Even with Ruud last year it wasnt performace related punishments to Vestergaard and Winks.

2 miserable relegations with this guy being one of the main cbs is not delusion. Maybe not in terms of footballing ability but when was the last time you looked at Faes in the starting line up and thought, no need to worry today? Even in the Championship he was shaky, remember that run under Enzo? Nope but even during the 06-10 years I dont remember there being a CB so bad for so long staying near the side.

He’s the worst CB in our history and many of the goals we’ve conceded since he’s been here are either down to an outright mistake of his or just him not being a good enough defender. Deserves every bit of slander he gets.

Lots of work to be done and some players that should never play for us again.

After that 45 mins i think some people will be reevaluating what they said about him last season.

Will never change with Top and Rudkin in charge. They are stuck in 2008.

The worrying thing is that by all accounts Sheff Weds should be finishing rock bottom this season… maybe they’ll get 23rd instead and we’ll be bottom. &nbsp After a hopeful preseason i’m now extremely concerned we won’t survive the Championship either.

Promotion isnt a worry, staying in the league based on this performance against this team is a huge concern.

It worries me that a professional manager has watched Soumares performances for us in recent years and thought yeah you know what he’s the man.

We have too weak of a spine, this season could actually be a struggle if the line ups dont change.

A team that has a spine of Skipp, Soumare and Vestergaard will not be competitive at any level. Edit - Ayew too.

Thats his top level career over. With all of his other issues and record theres no way he can come back from this at the top level.
