  1. You are correct, he’ll get a bigger signing on bonus plus i believe a loyalty bonus from us too.
  2. Yes because its not the first time this lad has broken the rules from drinking. Not learning any lessons at all.
  3. The same thing was said for Rodgers and look how that worked out? I really rate Maresca i really do but he’s let himself down a bit here. This is a player with a proven record of drink related issues and he’s been allowed to get away with it. If he’s not careful he’ll end up with another Maddison type clique that becomes uncontrollable with players more concerned with boozing than playing.
  4. Also I find it mad that in 2024 people are defending drink driving. Im all for innocent until proven guilty but this is one crime that is very open and shut.
  5. Because he’s out drinking, driving and spending the night in cells 2 days before a very important game. Hardly ideal preparation is it? What sort of message does it send to the rest of the squad? This is how squad discipline breaks down, we saw the same thing under Rodgers. Once one exception is made the manager has no leg to stand on with other players.
  6. I’m all for players being able to do what they want in their spare time but there comes to a point where professionalism has to be questioned. These aren’t average office workers that can coast through a day looking at the same spreadsheet. They are top level athletes consistently and purposely partaking in activities that are proven to hinder performance. These guys are on huge wages and shouldnt be waking up in cells with a stonking hangover 2 days before an important game. One of the reasons we got relegated last year was lack of discipline and players who cared more about going out than doing their jobs and Enzo starting Hamza 2 days after this happening does not send a good message at all.
  7. No Saudi club will touch him.
  8. If we’d taken just 1-2 more chances last season we’d still be a Premier League team. I’m not overly worried at the minute theres been enough progress considering the state the team and club was in when Enzo arrived but its concerning that many weaknesses from last season are still apparent.
  9. Another drink related incident with this lad. Time to move him on imo, shows no signs of improving in terms of ability or attitude.
  10. I’ve said this before but i’m fairly certain the the membership scheme is the brain child of someone quite high up at the club and they are reluctant to admit defeat on what they would consider to be a great success. Its definitely political because any person in their right mind would look to maximise sales as much as possible.
  11. Ah so were here again are we….
  12. Great effort for those involved to get the club to climb down, i’ve always resisted getting membership but little one really pushed to start going to game this season so I caved but glad that other people might now have the opportunity to come see a game without bribing the club first.
  13. I think thats the first time this season a team has pressed us so hard into the final minutes of a game. Its our weakness because of the tenancy to overplay, so many times in that second half we were caught on the press after overplaying and in the end we ended up being punished. Its going to be a long old season back in the Premier League if this isn’t sorted out as its the same old issue. Other than that its been a pretty good season so far and a point against nearest rivals away from home on boxing day isnt so bad.
  14. Too much messing around with the ball.
  15. Now? He’s always been good. Been saying since start of the season by the end of it everyone will love him.
  16. Its weird because when we had less options and 2 keepers on the bench he was using all 3 every game and they were having an impact. Hopefully its just teething issues as he’s still relatively new to management but it’s worked in the past for him so not sure why he’s not relying on it more.
  17. Absolutely slated this signing when he joined because of how he was used at Spurs. Got it massively wrong and I actually think he’s one of if not the best player in the league.
  18. We back to moan in full force. Nah just a bit of a spell, we’ll get through it. The points record is over though.
  19. The only real downside to this style of play is that we tend to overplay.
  20. He soon gets shown up under the slightest bit of pressure. People have been fooled by the fact he gets acres of space each game to spray it about.
  21. Vestergaard really wouldn’t be able to step back up to the Premier League.
  22. Got a feeling this is the game where we make a proper statement. 4-0 win.
  23. I think he’ll be an asset when/if we go up next season.
  24. We’ll no doubt get some CBs of a similar profile that are a bit quicker. Its a shame about Cags because he would have been extremely good in this set up.
  25. Can we please remember that for all the good performances he’s put in this season he was signed as an established Premier League defender for us and put in some truly horrible performances for us at that level. Just because he is playing well against a lesser standard of opposition doesn’t invalidate previous critical opinions. If anything right now he’s doing the absolute bare minimum, just as any player who was signed during our Premier League stint that are playing well at this level.
