As well as clearly being a decent defender at this level, he also seems to have an excellent attitude, which even further makes me wonder why the hell didn't Claudio select him. Has anyone else noticed how much happier players like Ulloa are too. He is not any closer to getting in the team, than he was under Claudio, with Musa and Slimani preferred to him, even by Shakespeare, but after the last few games, he has come on the pitch and celebrated and genuinely looks very happy! Bizarre. Hopefully we hear more about what went on with Claudio in charge, as there are just too many signs that there was a lot more wrong, than just being out of form or lack of trying.

He had us down to win 2-0 today

Seems to be getting better and better, and getting to the point where he isn't far off the best in the world. I'm not saying he is, but the way he improves season on season, there just seems to be no stopping him at the moment. His passion and leadership is also top notch. What a guy! Thank you Sven for Kasper at least
-
It has been the perfect move for him. I know people have said he should have been involved for us, but this is a great way to build his confidence again and also show us what he can do. Luckily he could have Shakespeare in charge in the summer, and he should be fully aware of how good he is. Drinky, N'didi and James with Mendy/King or possibly a new CM signing in the summer. Still hoping for Silva.. Amartey to CB.
-
Exact same thing happened at Chelsea and everyone has forgotten how the media and neutral fan blasted the Mourinho sacking decision. I'm going to enjoy all these crappy pundits having to go back on the rubbish they spouted.
-
If Amartey becomes a CB for us and Mendy continues to not impress over the next few months, then I can see a way back for James. He has potential to be on par with Drinkwater and would like to see him back playing here if possible. See how he finishes the season with Barnsley, and like Lawrence, would be stupid to sell either until the new manager has had a good look at them in pre-season. Just hope he is fully over his injuries and back to his best and ready to prove he is a decent Premier League midfielder.
-
I think him, Slim and Mendy all deserve a chance to play in a team performing well. It's difficult to judge them in a team that was completely malfunctioning. I think Slimani will come good and Mendy may still be a useful midfielder for us. Big doubts on Musa though, but hopefully they get another few chances to impress before we have to make decisions on them come the summer. Curious to see how a new manager will rate them too.
-
Monster performance by him tonight. He was so aggressive. Won tackles and headers galore, but he also passed very well too. Special mention to Drinky too of course as he was so much better with the ball. If he continues to impress like this, then the big clubs will come knocking very soon!
-
Musa could still turn out to be decent player. Not seen enough of him yet, but so far, I would lean to selling too. Will probaby start against Millwall as striker again, so will another chance to impress. Morgan and Huth 100% can leave though. We need to start again with our back 4 if we go down, starting with Chilwell at LB and perhaps Amartey/Benny at CB
-
They are all under contract though and we don't have to sell. Like I said, contracts aren't what they used to be, but if there is no release clause, we don't have to sell any players we don't want to. They stay, and will get regular playing time and a decent wage, or they try force a move through by going on strike, which you can see didn't work for Ulloa, and he only did it as he wasn't getting any playing time, whereas all these young players would be.
-
Forgot about the wages relegation clause. I really hope that is true, as it would be painful to know players like Wes and Simpson are on so much money in the Championship! IF Vardy carries on in the same form for the rest of the season, then a move for him and the club would be good. Still think we would be in a strong position to be able to hold onto the players we want to keep, especially the young ones like Chilwell, Gray, N'didi etc.
-
I know contracts aren't what they used to be, but they are all tied down to them and they may prefer to stay, knowing they will all start every week in the Championship. We wouldn't need to sell them, as we would be able to off load players like Slimani, Mahrez, Drinkwater etc and with the money from this season, and parachute payments, as well as Billionaire owners, we would be ok financially and not have to sell them. I think we would be able to keep all our young players for the first season in the Championship, unless a crazy offer came in for Gray which was too good to turn down etc.
-
I was trying to be optimistic with that one Doubt we will be able to sell Vardy either. Zieler potentially is still a top keeper. I think we would miss the leadership and passion that Kasper has though. Would like to see a real leader in our team if we do go down, but can't see it from any of the ones who would stay, so would need to bring someone in. There is no point Kasper leaving though, unless a big club wants a starting No.1. No point going to a Watford, Middlesborough etc who would likely pay him less and just as likely to be relegated. Obviously, we all think he is good enough for an Everton or even Liverpool type club, but whether they do, is another question and I wouldn't be THAT surprised if he did 6 months or a full season in the Championship, if the right or big enough club didn't come calling. First thing I would do, is slap the Captain's Armband on him if he did stay.

I'd like: ----------------Kasper----------------- New RB--Amartey--New CB--Chilwell ----------James--N'didi--------- Gray--------Kaputska-------Lawrence --------------New Striker----------- Sell Vardy, Slimani, Drinkwater, Mahrez and and bench the oldies who we can't get rid of
-
Disagree on both those points. I think he is currently a better option at RB than Simpson. It's not Amartey's strongest position, but he still potentially offers more than Simpson does there. Also, think he will become a decent CB for us if given the chance there. Plays there for his country and I actually think he is decent in the air. Don't see him having a good enough all round game to play in midfield for us. He could do a steady job there for sure, but I think in the Premier League, you need midfielders who have more technical ability. Long-term, I would like to see him become a ball playing CB for us and I think judging from what I have seen so far, that would be his strongest position.
-
If he replaces Huth or Morgan, it doesn't matter. We just have to break up that partnership, because we can't afford two old and slow CB's who can't pass. I wish we had seen more of Benny. He could have played far more games than he has, and potentially been a really good option for us in these struggling times. I think these dicussions are all pointless anyway, as I just can't see Claudio dropping either Morgan or Huth.
-
Play him at CB on Weds! Huth looked knackered during the Man U game, and is sooooo slow. Amartey and Morgan. Or Amartey and Benny please. We will go down if we persist with Huth and Morgan, so weds is a good chance to try Amartey there at least.

I don't know whether he is constantly off balance or actively looking for fouls all the time. It's very frustrating. He will certainly be useful for us for the next 6 months, even though it will likely only be from the bench, if we do sign Ramirez. After that, then could be a good time to cash in on him and Ulloa. -

Love Shinji. He is a top professional and obviously loves and appreciates the game. I just wish he had a little more quality on the ball, and could stay on his feet! -
Didn't we pretty much try that against Chelsea?
-
I think that his is only decent position and why a 4-3-3 would suit us and players like him, Gray and Mahrez so well. Also means we can have 3 in the middle
-
Really chuffed for him. Frustrated Claudio didn't start with him but he is maybe trying to keep Ulloa happy with some more minutes and avoid a transfer request in this window. Useful to have Ulloa as a second "big-man" to cover for Slimani so can see his thinking. Musa obviously has pace to burn, but also seems to have some composure in front of goal. I still don't see him as a natural striker personally and would like to see Claudio put more faith in him and give him some starts in his preferred position attacking on the left, with Gray on the right and Vardy through the middle. I've been barking on about a 4-3-3 with two DCM's suiting our attacking players like Musa, Gray and Mahrez for ages. Means they have less to do defensively and can stay further up the pitch and we can stay on the attack more, which is often the best form of defence anyway! Hope he sticks with the system and continues to use players like Musa and Gray, as can see them both only getting better and better.
-
I was guilty in the past of thinking we could do with someone a bit better, but I think he has improved season on season and would be very difficult to replace now. Seems to have a huge influence in the dressing room too. Happy for him to remain our No.1 for many years to come
-
I was impressed with him today. I don't get why people are knocking his contribution in attack. No one contributed in attack today and he is a defensive midfielder, who breaks up play and keeps it simple, which is a very useful player to have. Unfortunately today, we didn't have a Drinkwater alongside him to receive that simple pass and create something from it. Of course in an ideal world he would have more attacking skills and flair, but he is just 21 and I thought he was one of our best players today. I think him and Ndidi could be almost impossible to get past as they both gel and improve. Add some creativity infront of them and our midfield is looking a lot stronger for the future.
