I just can't see us accepting any bid for Ndidi, unless it is a ridiculous amount, which I don't think any team will be prepared to pay yet. Another season like he has had, and I do think some very big bids will come in for him. He also comes across as dedicated and loyal and I can't see him kicking up a fuss like Mahrez did. He may want to go to a club like Liverpool if they come knocking, but I certainly don't see him going on strike if we do reject big bids from anyone, certainly not this summer anyway. Maguire maybe harder to keep, as I do see a team like Man City being interested and they don't mess about. All depends on how he does in the World Cup, if he starts and shines, then I see a bid of 50-60million from Man City coming in, and us unable to reasonably deny him that move. Our chairman might dig his heels in again though!

Burnley Away 14/04/2018 - Pre-Match Discussion
STUHILL replied to Wymsey's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's an important game, although I still think Burnley will do enough to keep that 7th place now and so I would actually like to see us change it up a bit by bringing in a few players and changing the style or formation somewhat. ------------------------Kasper------------------------ ------------Dragovic---Wes---Maguire------------ Albrighton-----------------------------------Chilwell --------------------Silva----Choudhury--------------- ----Mahrez-------------------------------Diabate--- ---------------------------Vardy----------------------- Silva to push on when in attack. whilst Choudhury sits. Would like to see Amartey, Iheanacho and Gray given some game time too if possible. -
Depends who leaves obviously, but I think this is a great chance to invest correctly this time. We can shift a number of players on and fill those places with some genuine quality signings (at a cost!) A ball playing and quick RB is an absolute must. Simpson struggles so much when we are on the attack. Sign Dragovic and another CB, either a talented youngster or a Jonny Evans type on the cheap (£3million relegation release clause apparently) As much as I like Iborra, he seems slow and I feel he will be better used as an impact sub, much like he was for Sevilla. Therefore we need a genuine top CM to play alongside N'didi. Silva is too lightweight to play that deeper role, but will be useful in a 3 or in more of a no.10 role. Mahrez is very likely to go and so we need to get another attacking winger/no.10 in, James Maddison is a good shout, but perhaps we need to think even higher and go spend big on someone from abroad to at least try to fill some of the gap left by Mahrez. Finally, I'd like us to invest in a big no.9, who can be thrown on with 15-20mins to go and cause havoc if we need a goal. Rondon perhaps, although his goal scoring record hasn't been great and he would look to be a starter. We do need a plan B though and a big lump who can add a new threat, would be very useful in my opinion. Other than those, who I think are essential signings, I wouldn't argue if we looked to have a genuine challenger to Kasper, someone who is bigger and can dominate his area better by claiming crosses with ease. LB is also an area of mild concern, although Chilwell and Fuchs as back up is much better than our options at RB.

Who I think will go: Mahrez, Slimani, Musa, Ulloa, Mendy, Benny. Huth. Hamer Who I'd like to go on top of those (with replacements coming in!) King James I expect both King and James will stay though. James because was used by Puel and needs to recover from injury and King because he will be reluctant to move, even if told he will be a squad player at best again.

I'm still a fan of Marco Silva. I was so impressed by the job he did at Hull, and was unlucky that they eventually went down. I think Watford were right to appoint him and only Everton really derailed that, as he got off to an amazing start. Perhaps, he needs to rebuild his reputation first, but if Puel does go next season and Silva is available, I would certainly be favourable to see how he does here. Dyche I think would be a smart appointment, as in I don't think we would ever be in danger of going down under him, but I'm not sure how he would cope with bigger funds and expectations! Over achieving now, with the underdog mentality. Also think his style of football would leave a fans a little unimpressed. Puel deserves the summer and a few signings to get us playing exactly the way he wants. Player power and fan's unrest could mean he gets shorter time to impress though.

Claude Puel hints at contract extension for Wes Morgan
STUHILL replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I've actually been pleasantly surprised by Wes this season (apart from the weekend). Performed well in most games, even with being asked to hold and play the ball more. I still find it an absolute joy to see him trying a few tricks (mostly successfully!), when he finds himself in the attacking half on the odd occasion. I actually think 1 more year for us after this season is perfect, as he will still be a very useful as a 3rd or even 4th choice. He should not be starting next season though, if we really do have ambitions on challenging for that 6th place. A contract extension beyond that would be unlikely I would have thought. Puel probably just saying the right things, to keep him motivated and his full attention on Leicester and not a 3 year contract elsewhere. I'd sign Dragovic, use Amartey as a CB and possible sign one more, possibly a talented youngster or promote within. That would give us Maguire/Drago, Wes/Amartey and an understudy. Would have liked to seen more of Dragovic to be completely sure he is a worthy season long starter, and obviously Amartey is still untested back there at this level, so I wouldn't argue against picking up a player like Evans on the cheap either. -
Obligatory YouTube Vid! Looks to have an amazing delivery and good composure and vision, with an eye for goal. Could turn out to be another Tom Lawrence for us, but a type of player we should definitely be looking to take a chance on. Adding another exciting and young attacking player to our squad is a big thumbs up from me!

I have still have serious doubts Musa will ever be a success here. He is just too lightweight and his first touch and decision making/final ball are not good enough. I am very happy he is performing well again in Russia though, as it means we can try and get back as much as our transfer fee as possible, although we will surely still make a loss, unless a Premier League Club overspend on him. The style Puel is trying to implement, needs players who are comfortable in possession and accurate with their passing. Musa doesn't suit this new style and was more suited to our old fast counter approach with minimum time with the ball. Sell him this Summer!

Excited to see Silva start again and hopefully show us more of what he can do. We will definitely miss N'didi and lack the energy and athleticism he gives us in there, but hopefully Iborra and Silva can form a nice partnership. I see them working well when we are in possession, but we may struggle when trying to defend. Hopefully Puel is well aware of this, and has Okazaki or whoever is behind Vardy, dropping a little deeper and helping out. I think a lot will depend on how Silva steps up to this role and Iborra will need to be on it for us to win this. Optimistic though!

Turned out to be another incredible piece of business for us. That signing alone, probably saved us from relegation that season. He was that important to us. Difficult to judge where he is at now, considering he hasn't played all season and his age, but with Wes performing well alongside Maguire, and Dragovic in my opinion earning a permanent deal here, as well as Amartey being an option, I sadly wouldn't offer Huth an extension. Keep Wes for 1 more season. Sign Dragovic. Use Amartey as a CB like his country do to good effect and sign another decent CB, perhaps younger or bed in one of our own from the development/reserve squad, ready to replace Big Wes eventually. Huth is probably still good enough to get a 1-2 year deal at a top Championship club - perhaps one of the relegated teams such as WBA or Stoke will be interested. I'll remember him for that beast of a header against Spurs to snatch a 1-0 win in our title winning season! Hope he gets one last run out for us this season, even if just a short appearance from the bench!

Appleton favourite for West Brom job....
STUHILL replied to Greg2607's topic in Leicester City Forum
I thought that when he went to Derby! I personally think Pearson needs Walsh and Shakey to be a success again. If he can get those two to join him, then he could do very well. -
Another chance for Silva to step up and try to impress! ---------------------------Kasper-------------------------- Simpson--------Morgan------Maguire--------Chilwell ---------------------Silva---------Iborra------------------- -----Mahrez------------Okazaki-------------Diabate---- ----------------------------Vardy----------------------------- Had to get Diabate in there. Risky at the expense of a hard working Albrighton but he has been electric in his short cameos. Okazaki can drop in and help Silva with some of the defensive duties when needed.

Appleton favourite for West Brom job....
STUHILL replied to Greg2607's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's a big club for him to take over and they will have money to spend with the parachute payments, although some balancing of the books will be needed I'm sure, although a few player sales will also free up some cash. I'd be tempted if I was him, although if he fails, then he could struggle to get a job above League 1 or 2, and have to prove himself again. -
Walsh probably available in the Summer. Takers?
STUHILL replied to STUHILL's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'd imagine that would be one hell of a pay-cut moving there! Whether Everton will still have to pay him once he has left, may be a factor, but I can't imagine he will take a job there. Owners are rich, but doubt they would pay vastly over what other employees are getting there just to get him. I imagine he will be unattached for a while and do some scouting work for various clubs and wait for another DOF to come up or Head Scout at a Prem Club perhaps. He surely still has a lot of admirers, even after this Everton debacle. -
He's just another Andy King type player for me, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but certainly not a great thing either. He will come in when needed, do a job - Occasionally he will put in a very decent performance and give us something to shout about, but mostly we will get the same kind of performance each week, i.e hard working and solid, but with no real impact on the game. That's fine for certain levels, maybe even lower Premier League teams, but we are pushing for a regular 6th/7th finish and with the money we have available, I will always be inclined to think we can do much better in that central position. Personally, add this to his recent injury record, I'd allow him to leave in the Summer and look for a much more imaginative or combative CM to come in.

STUHILL replied to STUHILL's topic in Leicester City Forum
Exactly this! Surprised people are even mentioning the fact that he left us as some kind of backstab! I am starting to agree that perhaps the time is not right for him to return to us though. He has just failed as DOF at Everton, and Macia does deserve this summer with Puel to try and get his targets in. A part of our scouting team is probably all we could/should offer right now, and that may seem a step down/backwards for him. Would like to see him return eventually though, as he really does seem to have the talent to unearth some very good players. Everton were 100% right to offer him that role at the time and for whatever reason, it just didn't work out. It hasn't tarnished my view of him though and I'd take him back when the time is right for us and him. -
Leicester 2017/2018 Goals Possession: 47.6% Pass Accuracy: 74% Atletico Madrid 2017/2018 Possession: 48.4% Pass Accuracy: 80.3% I think people have the wrong impression of Atletico. They are just a very well organised/drilled team, that are often compared to Barcelona and Real in terms of possession, due to being the 3rd best club in the league and only likely challengers to them. They actually still have a higher avg possession than us this season, and this is even with Puel implementing his new possession based style. I for one, am really enjoying seeing our players keep the ball so much better. Yes, it can be slow and not very exciting at times, but if Puel can take a side which I thought weren't capable of such football, and implement his style on them so quickly and have a decent amount of success, then I am very optimistic to see what he can do with a handful more quality players who are more used to this approach. Transfers in the summer will again be key, but he obviously knows how to spot and exciting player as Diabate is looking the real deal already! I 100% agree on his interviews though, I have never been able to get through even one of them!

PSV Eindhoven's technical director Marcel Brands looks set to join Everton later this month, once the team have been confirmed as Eredivisie champions, say Sky sources. Brands' arrival could signal Steve Walsh's departure from Goodison - less than two years after he joined from Leicester. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11316202/psv-technical-director-marcel-brands-to-join-everton I'd have him back, as although he hasn't had a great time at Everton, and there were a few dodgy signings here too (maybe not always down to him), he still has to be respected for some of the absolute gems he found for us. He knows the club and probably still a lot of the scouting team and network we have. Maybe some would even prefer him as DOF over Rudkin, although he has faltered in the at role at Everton, whether mostly down to him or others, is still a fair question though. Maybe I am just being nostalgic, but I'd love to see him back here!

The Claude Puel Era - what will he bring?
STUHILL replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
A really promising start to what hopefully is a long era of success for him and us. As another poster remarked, he has already stamped his authority down and demonstrated his confidence by making changes in his first game. The football we played in the first half was very encouraging and the changes he made had a very positive impact. Stoke will be another great test and a winnable but challenging game. Away from home, it will be interesting to see how he sets us up. His interview again was rather dull, but I really don't care if he keeps us playing like that and winning! I really think we needed a shake-up and a different method/formula to help us reach our aims of regular top 10 finishes and I'm hopeful he will deliver that for us. My 5000 post on here , how time flies! - Onward and upwards! -
I'm just not buying into this delusions of grandeur bollocks! Look at how much we have spent on players since our title win and how we managed to keep Vardy, Kasper and Mahrez. It's like just because we aren't happy being in the bottom 3, we are somehow expecting too much! None of us expect to ever be pushing the top 4 again or even the top 6, but with the players we have, the money we have spent, is it really that delusional of our owners and us to expect that we should be comfortable in the Premier League with the likes of WBA, Southampton etc. "Experts" are so keen to suggest that we have no right to expect better than a relegation battle each season. Fook off!

The same style that is the cause of our problems? I hope if it is him, then he has some fresh ideas with a higher quality squad

Prefer Albrighton or Gray there. Chilwell can't cross for toffee

Is Shakespeare the right man for the job?
STUHILL replied to Ian Nacho's topic in Leicester City Forum
Trying to live and recreate the past success is exactly what he and maybe even the player's have become guilty of. Kante was as many pundits and fans described, like having 2 men. We essentially played with 3 in midfield with the amount of energy he gave us. It has been evident for some time now, that having a midfield 2 without Kante, is just a recipe for being completely over run, as well as having to bypass the midfield with long, hopeful balls. We now have a squad with a number of decent ball players, and so we can afford to test 3 in midfield. In my opinion, Okazaki is only useful due to him making our 4-4-2 work, otherwise his goal contribution and assists are generally quite low. Therefore, I think sacraficing him so we can have a midfield 3 makes a lot of sense to me. I know people are reluctant to try a 3 at the back, so how about we keep the back 4 the same, but look to something like this: ---------------------Kasper------------------ Simpson---Morgan-----Maguire---Fuchs ---------------N'didi-------Iborra------------- Mahrez---------Iheanacho-----------Gray ----------------------Vardy------------------- Perhaps without seeing much of Iheanacho yet, that role may be a big ask, but I could see Silva also being very effective there (if he ever signs!) -
Not a good enough crosser of the ball from what I've seen, to become a genuine Premier League winger. Think LB will be his strongest position and has performed well in the last couple of games. He has great quality on the ball for a defender and once he cuts out the odd silly error or two, I can see him becoming our starting LB for next season and beyond.

Think 433 could suit a lot of our first teamers. Would like to see it tried at least
