  1. Didn't he already sign a 5 year 80-100k a week one last summer?
  2. You can have respect for a player but still wonder if we can do better. Not sure why everyone takes everything so personal on here. He has been a fantastic servant for us. How many managers have come in and trusted him enough to be a regular starter? Shouldn't we want players on the bench really pushing our starting CMs? Can you honestly say he has done that in the last few years? If he and the club are happy him being 4th/5th choice next season, then fair enough. I would prefer he was playing 46 games in the Championship and we were bedding in youngsters who have the potential to surpass King.
  3. does he always do a job? I would like a CM who can offer more than the very basics tbh. But as I said.. not many seasoned professionals would be happy as 4th/5th choice and so little game time, so as long as he isn't preventing us bedding in potential top young CM prospects as 4th/5th choice, then I have no issue with him staying on.
  4. If King is happy being 5th choice CM next season then fair enough. He can stay and make his handful of appearances, some of which will be very good and others will be totally unnoticeable. I'd prefer for ours and his sake, that he got a move away to a Championship club and started every week. Would also mean our 5th choice could be an up and coming youngster, who has the potential to surpass King and by us showing faith in him early and giving him a handful of games, we and him would reap the rewards. I'm think Harvey Barnes type talent. I would hope that James OR Mendy can prove themselves to be good enough to step in when needed but also we go out and sign a top CM such as Adrien Silva, to push Danny for that starting spot.
  5. Think he is too passive personally. I imagine he would be as invisible on the training ground, as he can be on the pitch for us
  6. As much as we all rate him. I don't think he would be seen as an adequate replacement for the world's best keeper. Mourinho will pay some obscene amount for Oblak most likely
  7. Not seen any either. We can always say NO as well. He has a contract until 2021 and is playing every game for us. Make him club captain. Push for top 7 and FA Cup win. I think he will stay with us
  8. I would like us to be competing with Everton for 7th/8th spot and also having 2 good cup runs, hopefully going all the way in one. Breaking the top 6 will be a tall order I think
  9. Fuch's throw is pretty much the same as a corner, so it is a weapon in that sense and it just adds another string in his bow, for why I think he currently offers more than Chilwell. As I said, most importantly he is just a better defender and that is Chilwell's weakest area from what I've seen so far, and I believe it could cost us if we started him over Fuchs next season. Perhaps Chilwell should get to start 2-3 or these last 6 games and we can all have a better idea of where he is at. So far. I have seen a young player that is very confident and composed on the ball and a threat going forward, although final ball is lacking, but also someone who struggles with positioning and the strength needed to battle in defence in the Premier League. Long-term if he toughens up and improves on his defensive duties, then he definitely has the quality and confidence on the ball, to be a very accomplished LB
  10. I think we are looking at 2019/2020 season for Chilwell taking over that starting spot personally. I think he has a long way to go to improve his defensive game and although I agree he needs more games to improve that, I think it could cost us on many occassions at the moment. Fuchs was shocking in our slump, but no more so than anyone else. Since then, he has looked brilliant again and his long-throw is such a weapon as well as his crossing. Most importantly though, he is very solid in defence. I expect he will start most the games next season and then will perhaps move to America next summer and hopefully that is when Chilwell will step into that starting role.
  11. I think it would make sense to play Vardy/Slimani together for the majority of the remaining games and also start Gray for a handful of them too. We need 1 win to be safe and I think it would be a massive help for next season, if we can make a decision on whether a Vardy/Slim partnership can work and also whether Gray can prove his potential is good enough for him to be starting next season. As that is what he wants and he will probably look to force a move if he can't here, so lets give him a chance in these remaining 6 games.
  12. To be fair, Albrighton has started all season and missed those 1.5 games due to illness. Bit different to Gray who has had barely any game time all season. Gray is young. He is ambitious and wants to be playing. I don't see the problem if that frustrates him. His so called sulks are hardly having an affect on the team spirit. Everyone always seems to be buzzing in training, himself included.
  13. Ahead of Fuchs pretty quickly next season? I can't see that. Fuchs offers much more at the moment Chilwell should start every cup match though and try to get as many minutes as possible in the league
  14. I think he has a resting bitch face... as they call it. You're right though and I'm a bit surprised as he has obviously got talent and Mahrez could still be on the way out, so you would have thought Gray would be the guy to come through and try to make that starting spot his own. Will have to see whether he gets many games from now until the end of the season. I hope he doesn't go cheap though, as anyone who can run with the ball that quick under such close control, has the potential to be a top player and I would hate if he went to another Prem club and had a real impact, whilst we sign some foreign flop!
  15. At half-time yes but got to be critical of the Amartey one. Chilwell was finding lots of space on the left but not able to do much with it and I think when Wes got injured and we still needed 2 goals, moving Fuchs to CB and Chilwell to LCB with Gray coming on LW, would have been a better choice.
  16. Found it bizarre that he didn't feature at all tonight so maybe not at 100% or perhaps a strop. Chilwell did well but couldn't help think that Gray would have made more of those situations. Hopefully we get to see Gray start against Arsenal, as he will surley be off if he doesn't get many more games for the rest of the season. Mahrez could do with a rest.
  17. I really didn't understand why we didn't have Gray on that side. If it had have been Gray with the ball in those same wide areas, then he would have been much more of a danger to their defence. That was the only criticism I had for Shakey tonight. Gray had to be on 2nd half. Even at the end, I have no idea why we brought Amartey on, when we were desperate for 2 goals. Gray on and move Fuchs to the CB and Chilwell to LCB in the 3. Have Gray bombing down that left. Other than that. Can't have too many grumbles. We gave it our best and with a bit more luck, we could have got a couple more goals
  18. If we don't make decent signings in the summer, then I worry for us. I know we can turn it on when needed, but our starting CB's have a combined age of 65, and we still only seem to be able to play one way and that is heavily reliant on Jamie Vardy being fit and available. (and scoring!) Get our transfer window right, with splashing serious cash on 3-4 top players, and we can really kick on and push for a comfortable top 10 and higher. I don't want to go back to the stress of being in relegation battles. Spend the cash Vichai and get us Sigurdsson, Trippier, Gibson and Adrien Silva. Four starters, that could really make a huge difference to us.
  19. This guy has played a total of 12 games in 2 years. To come in tonight and put in a MOTM performance against one of the best sides in Europe, was truly incredible. After the stinker he had against Everton, I had big doubts how he would do tonight but I couldn't have been more wrong. Looking back at his career, he has only played 196 professional games, and he is 30. Not sure where that performance came from tonight but if he can reproduce that on a regular level, then he should be starting for us next season. He reads the game better than any of our other CBs and is bit quicker too. Obviously he still has to prove himself over a longer period and we need to see if Everton was a hiccup or not, but the signs are very promising and I love his attitude. He was completely cast aside here but never complained or tried to force a way out and always looked genuinely delighted on the sidelines when we were winning and with his social media postings etc. I thought we would need 2 CB's in the summer, but with Wes and Huth still having some life left in them and Benny looking a very good choice there, then probably only need the one now. Maguire perhaps.
  20. Did he get an injury part way through the half? It was the right decision by Shakey to bring another midfielder on but wonder whether it was forced on him. As for Shinji tonight. Tough game for him but he struggled to do some of the basics well and the falling over/diving is just wasted on refs as they are predictable and obvious. Try staying on your feet and lets see what happens. Not going to criticise too much though as he was having to play so deep, he was practically a defensive midfielder. I would rest him at the weekend and play him again on Tuesday but probably yank him off at half-time again for Slimani or Gray, who offer genuine goal scoring threats.
  21. I find it depressing that a thread like this is even needed. Why can't fans just travel away and enjoy the experience and not get blind drunk and cause problems. I know the majority don't but shame to get let down by those who do act like pricks
  22. Bit boring for media to be reporting on fans sitting around doing nothing, when they can have shots of police with batons and supporters with bruises. To be fair to SSN, they were showing pictures of the owner with supporters etc
  23. I was thinking the exact same thing and interesting that Claudio said even the season they won the title, 'they were maybe pushing'. Rudkin probably saw it unfolding and was maybe hoping Claudio would retire on a high note! Correct decision was made and at the right time too, so whoever was responsible for taking that tough decision, should get some credit for sure, whether Rudkin or 100% the Chairman.
  24. I think Benny will be more suited to Griezmann as crazy as that sounds. He got bullied against Lukaku and is much better on his feet than in the air it seems. He will need a huge game though as will Huth. Just keep the deficit under 2 goals and we have a chance at the King Power! We have goals in us, just need to keep them out too!
  25. I thought that too. I don't know what's happened to him. I think we need to constantly be looking for improvements all over, rather than squad fillers, so that's why I would aim for an upgrade over Drinkwater, and then if he does regain his form of last season, then we will have some great options for CM and even be able to switch to a 3 if needed. I just hope Shakey is ambitious in this summer window and goes after 2-3 real quality players like Sigurdsson, Silva and Trippier etc. If we stick with our same starting 11 and go after squad fillers, then I think we could get caught out sooner rather than later. We have the money, we have the pulling power (not as much as last summer) but still a Premier League club with a certain romance about us - so lets aim for big improvements all over, even at the expense of some first teamers if needed. I actually think we will start with the tried and tested same 11 for next season, but imagine top players waiting and pushing players like Drinky and Simpson in training for starts. If we want to be a top 10 regular and higher, then we need to kick on and not stand still with nostalgia on what this team achieved.
