Agreed, but I also think it makes us a more attractive club again to potential signings. Like him or not, he still has star power. I also think that our hopeless squad might get a genuine new Manager bounce from Gerrard rocking up at Seagrave. He is still far from an ideal choice, but I still see more value in him than a Rowett or Mowbray, especially considering the type of players we currently have.

I'd take Gerrard, but only if he can play as well.
-
I would have considered him here before his Rangers stint, but that was a complete disaster and I am now as horrified as others when we are linked with him. I think he would be more likely to take us down than any other names linked so far. He seems to rub people the wrong way, and as we have a team full of divas, I think it would be a match made in hell. Avoid.

I get the feeling that Top and Rudkin are praying that King picks up a couple of wins, so they can offer it him until the end of the season for barely any money.

Hate to burst the optimism bubble, but his recent injury record is atrocious and has barely played in the last 3 years. Will be lucky to stay fit. We have seen these types of signings before, and they usually involve a game or two and then the rest of the season on the treatment table e.g Ryan Bertrand or our current Aaron Ramsey. Only positive, we haven't offered him a 3 year contract... (yet) -
signings like this make me think that Top and Rudkin are purposely trying to destroy the club.

I refuse to comment on this thread. ..,apart from this comment.

Only way to force him to sell the club, is for a complete collapse in attendance, down to just 100s of oblivious happy clappers left. Top has to be made to feel that the whole City wants him gone and he is no longer welcome. I doubt he has the backbone to continue if he sees that amount of hostility to himself and King Power. But, it will still take time unfortunately. His Father was the reason for our success, Top has been a complete disaster.

This is going to take many years to get back to the Premier League, if ever. We need new Ownership, new Leadership, complete new Squad and a new Manager. We will be lucky to stay a Championship club during that time and avoid bankruptcy.
-
Is TOP there? I hope the stadium empties and he is the only one left sat there.
-
These players will happily fold in any relegation battle. League 1 looking more and more likely. Genuinely, need some horrible git in now who will crap out some 1-0 wins. I don't care about style or whether he can build us for the Premier League. We just have to stay up.
-
Genuinely LAUGHABLE how far we have fallen and probably further to fall as well, with League 1 looking a real possibility now.

Would you take Pearson til the end of the season?

My point was, KP hired him again after the infamous video, so the video is not relevant which is what the original post was about -
I take your points and I totally agree about how a Manager sometimes just clicks. We certainly need to get lucky with this, otherwise we could genuinely drop this season. However, I also saw these types of positive takes on why Marti Cifuentes was going to be a success for us. I don't like that he has got a recent relegation to League 1 with a big club like ours, and I also don't like how and why he was recently sacked by Oxford. I am not sure he will be able to get this arrogant and lazy squad working hard and grinding out results. Personally, I would push for Steven Gerrard, as I can just see him more able to light a fire under some player's arses. I understand that people may think even he is a stretch too far, but I think the Championship is actually his best available option right now, as he is not Premier League tier and needs to rebuild his reputation like Lampard is trying. As you said though, it could be anyone and something either clicks or it doesn't.

If he didn't have the health problems, I would take him back right now. I think he would grind out some wins for us. However, I think there are better options out there. He also hasn't Managed or taken a training session for well over 2 years now. I would like to see him get back into Management with a midtable League 1 club and rebuild his career that way. Maybe be back for us one day, but not yet. -

He managed Top's other club Leuven after the infamous video. -
I see why Gary Rowett is favoured by some, due to his connection with Leicester, but are we really at the point of hiring someone who was most recently sacked by Oxford? All feels very Marti Cifuentes again, a low to mediocre Championship manager at best. I don't see him inspiring any kind of performance from this bunch. He was also in charge of Birmingham a couple of seasons ago when they were relegated to League 1 by a point. Not something I want to have happen here, although I accept he only had 8 games there. I am not expecting Ange to rock up, but surely we can expect a little better than someone with Rowett's record. It would be such a MEH appointment, which could condemn us to League 1 with the points deduction coming.
-
It just feels like a case of how low can we go now, with Top in control. Almost like an inevitable slide that only a new owner could turnaround. At this point, I hope King Power gets into so much financial distress, that he is forced to sell us, as otherwise I think we are just going to stay in this decline for years.

Marti's gone, what happens to January recruitment?
STUHILL replied to Nalis's topic in Leicester City Forum
Doubt we will sign anyone. Pure survival mode now with an Owner who has checked out and a team full of players who don’t want to be here. We will need to get very lucky with the next Manager, and just hope he can cobble enough wins together to keep us up this season. -
Such a MEH Manager. I couldn’t see what others saw when they were happy with his appointment. Just felt like they were filling in the unknowns with their own wish list. His CV was lacking and he just seemed to say what people wanted to hear, with no real evidence of living up to that. Won’t be missed, and I expect him to end up in lower leagues in Europe with little to no success. Thanks for… bye. 👋🏻

You tease. Tell us your two

Think people are going to be in for a sobering reality when the list of those genuinely interested in joining comes to light.
-
I get the impression Winks has contempt for the club and the fans, and it is not Manager related. Doubt we will see him again, even with a new Manager.
-
Steven Gerrard for me. No, I don't think he is the best we could get OR will solve all our problems. But, I do believe he would take ZERO crap from these overpaid bunch of nobheads. That's enough for me right now.
