When I was working I had a spell managing sickness levels and staff that were on sick leave. The majority were genuine but there certainly were many who were notorious for working the system. I/we knew who they were but were almost powerless to get rid. Some had written warnings but those individuals would work normally for that period and then go sick again.

It's taken at least 8 years for my older daughter to get any decent support in the community. She now has a certain level of support from the community teams but it's hit and miss. Often she is expecting a visit from a support worker only to find out (or not) that they cant attend due to sickness, poor staffing levels, or any other excuse that comes up. It's poor. People with MH in the community, like my daughter, depend on routine and reliability. Otherwise they're likely to fall back and then the crisis kicks in and they struggle and may well end up back in a psych ward.

Thanks Spud. I think it's the running bamboo as it spreads so much. It's impossible to contain it into one area. I thought it might be hard work. Maybe I should resign myself to repeatedly cutting it down. It's growing through a red robin hedge that's 6ft tall so I guess I could just trim it off when I trim the hedge but the bamboo grows well above 6ft at a rapid rate and I'd rather not have it at all.

If there wasn't a defender crisis at Monaco he wouldn't have got a sniff. Even then, they won't be good enough for this superstar. He'll enjoy the Monaco lifestyle and the casinos and be able to watch the GP but will still go on to decry his teammates, the club and the fans once they realise what he is and then slag him off, like we have. Talking of bamboo. We planted some in the front garden several years ago to provide a screen as we're a corner property but now its out of control and has grown into and amongst the existing hedges and is difficult to cut back. I believe it's notoriously difficult to kill off. Any suggestions? I've cut a lot down to ground level where I can get it but it comes back with a vengeance. We can't get to any roots to dig them out BTW and we want to avoid killing the hedge and bushes that it' has invaded.

I don't know if you've watched any of our games when he's played but, if yo have and you know ANYTHING about football, in particular defending, then even you must see how poor he's been for us. There's favouritism bias and then there's you.

I have. In some ways the atmosphere of the game is better than the series, as good as it is. We're just watching without being invested in the challenges.
