  1. This was always going to be a difficult, relegation battle type season......but they have comfortably exceeded my low expectations ! Personally l dislike the Premier League, have done for years. It's sanitised, geared towards the 'Big 6', even though Forest, Bournemouth, Brentford etc are having great times. VAR is ruining the matchday experience, referee's under constant scrutiny is tedious & harmful. When we go back down to The Championship, l expect we'll have a big points deduction, probably finish mid-table.......maybe a season or three of no dramas, out of the spotlight is what we need. A reboot.
  2. I was about to post similar. We won't survive, but if 3 sides do somehow finish below us, I'd cry as nothing would change at the top of this rotten circus of a club.
  3. Thanks, that's fantastic. We haven't booked accommodation yet, but will use Airbnb as there's plenty of choice (which area would you reccomend ?) We will use Bergamo as a base & travel about. We went to Verona last May, so will probably return as it's beautiful & not too chaotic regarding hordes of tourists. Thanks again.
  4. Booked a week in Bergamo, Northern Italy...September. A bit off the beaten track & looks like a hidden gem. Anyone been ?
  5. .......'The Ever Obliging Leicester City' section will be a hot topic tomorrow, l suspect.
  6. I actually don't think England take T20 very seriously anymore, it's a bit of fun to them, hence the poor batting performances. We seem to gear everything up to taking on Australia for The Ashes, which we generally get hammered in down under. To be so blinkered isn't very smart.
  7. Bedford won last pm & are 2nd.
  8. I suggest, like l have, give up watching this circus of a club & watch a bit of local non-league football, until the clowns leave. I know I'll be shot at for not conforming with the 'Through thick & thin' loyalists & that we all have different tolerance levels, but this incompetence can't continue. Don't get me wrong, l follow what goes on, watch us occasionally on TV, check in on here most days etc…....but this mess, our club, is difficult to love currently.
  9. Harborough don’t just rely on match day crowds to bring in revenue. Who does ? The modern clubhouse has a huge function room, it is regularly hired out for wedding receptions, parties etc. They have about 80 teams from juniors to veterans. A local college - Brooke House, pay a large amount to enable their football academy to use the facility. The board members & advisers, in general are people with good business acumen…..not a group of fly-by-night chancers. I’ve posted before, Harborough Town are a very well run organisation. The wheels may come off, but not anytime soon.
  10. I've watched Dolman a few times now. He is so overweight, likes to hoof it & gives the ball away unless he plays a simple sideways pass. I get he has experience at a higher level & is probably a good talker & gets Harborough organised, but his best days are well behind him.
  11. I'm almost numb to it all now. Wouldn't say I'm past caring, but it's so sad what's happening. I'd just love a few seasons of no dramas whatsoever......relegation, financial issues, promotion battles. Just mid-table mediocrity.
  12. Thought Harborough played really well 1st half, best I've seen for some time, the 2 wingers were always in the game & a real threat. Hitchen weren't too bad for a struggling side, defensively organised & patient.
  13. Went there in May. Absolutely loved it. Not a massive city & not as touristy as Rome/Florence. Managed to see Verona v Inter too ! Along with Naples, Verona is top of my list of favourite Italian cities.
  14. Sorry, l meant to quote CosbehFox.
  15. Countries such as Sri Lanka & The combined West Indies islands rely heavily on tourism & Test cricket attracts lots of to travellers from these shores. They will suffer badly if they are playing Zimbabwe, Afghanistan etc regularly & not England or India.
  16. Manager's get sacked, they rarely, if ever just walk. Why ? Because they'd lose millions in their pay-off. He's going nowhere.
  17. I find it amazing that anyone involved with the club's finances over recent times is still working for us. Someone/people have to be accountable.
  18. Ok, maybe he should be in the 'ex-players' topic at best. He was never as popular as Kante (in our most successful season) by any stretch & his attitude stank when he wanted out.
  19. When were you last at Harborough Town ?
  20. Why is he still mentioned on here ? He was good, but he left in a huff.
  21. Keep Wood fit for 3 Tests, maybe 4, hopefully Archer plays a part too. Along with Atkinson, Carse & Stone etc we have pace to burn. Bat with the usual flair, but very importantly, add a conservative side when it gets tough, then we have a chance.
  22. Sorry about your situation. I'm sure telling your partner is the best option. l often get anxious about certain scenarios, but that's me building a situation to be worse than it actually is. It's an old saying......A problem shared, is a problem halved.
  23. I think you've answered everything in your last few words. There's a reason we aren't winning games......'we are nailed on for the drop'. I think most of realise, we are going down.
  24. .......You've spelt Faes incorrectly.
  25. Exciting game in Bulawayo.....Zimbabwe 585, Afghanistan 515-3......13 wickets in 4 days !
