They probably would have been informed earlier this month re the 19th, and then subsequently yesterday informed them that they are changing the payment date.

If they were emailed that pay date in advance would be on the 19th December and then subsequently with one day notice change that to 31st December is that not a breach of contract?

There is no excuses to sue for breach of employment law.

In which case why the need to communicate then with one day notice? that's poor form you either tell your employees in advance not with one day notice!

I work at a University our pay dates for December are always pre Christmas, I guess it depends on the place but just to give one day notice is poor form.

Exactly mate it's in breach of employment law, staff by their contract would know their pay dates for the year, so to drop this news is abhorrent really.

How much money would non-playing staff accrue for the December wages? 1.5-2m? or up to 4m? either way it's a bit diabolical they won't get paid in time, and HR/employer would be in breach of employment law if that happened anywhere else.

Getting promoted is more important than just floundering in the championship.
