I said the salary cap in the NFL, I wasn't talking about rugby..
-
But rugby league doesn't have the commercial revenue streams the NFL does????
-
American football comparison is not quite right when the salary cap plays such a massive part in the profitability of the clubs to the point it'd be more difficult to make a loss. European football (soccer) is a completely different kettle of fish..

Briggs goal for Northampton!!!

Martin v popular with players and staff and mood in training great.. Atmosphere isnt completely rosy though.. Alot of internal anger at the club hierarchy.. Have said previous but I know of at least 2 staff leaving before there pushed and I think there'll be more. It is not a fun place to work and RM is doing a very good job at keeping spirits up...... It cannot be underlined enough just how unpopular Rudkin and Top are.. Cullen and this Bosnian striker is spending money we do not have.. + Chaplin's wage.. If I was a betting man I would put money on a lot of people being out of work quite soon unless we are sold.. We are going to go into admin..

Couldn't find a general staffing thread but a couple leaving in the not too distant future.. -
Vardy burnt a few bridges and rubbed a few up the wrong way inc. v recently.. No chance of him coming back..

Russell Martin - Confirmed as First Team Manager

Yep.. I play five a side with a member of first team staff and he can't speak highly enough of RM, staff all love him apparently.. huge mood shift day to day.. -
I'm not defending them at all, I'm a staunch KP Outer.. But this just isn't remotely the same as last year.. Ricardo will probably get applause from that end for an hour and a half, but I think if anything you're overestimating his impact if you're comparing this scenario to Vardy leaving.. it absolutely will not take the heat off the ownership in a grander sense, it can't disract in the same way because it carries so much less weight..
-
Thanks for being patronising, sorry I "missed your sarcasm" which is what people tend to say when they're called out for chatting shit.. The club have let fans know hat a reasonable servant of of 8 years is leaving, there isn't anything wrong with that, I don't think it's deflective or a PR exercise, nor do I think it carries the same emotional heft as Vardy leaving..
-
It isn't exactly the same at all??? I doubt most people will even be bothered it's Ricardo's last game..
-
A lot you can throw at the club but not this.. Ricardo is out of contract and been knackered for ages, he's been awful this season.. they aren't "forcing him to retire" to save face ffs.. would you rather they extended his contract???
-
Atletico aren't quite the defensive watch they once were, they've scored loads of goals in this season's competition..
-
Did we ever actually replace him?? I assume Glover is doing the same or a similar job?? Macia probably had twice as many hits in a fraction of the time..
-
This was the first time I felt unease with everything tbh . I was relatively happy with Rodgers as our manager until that point but it was a massive signal that autonomy was going with him and his men..
-
I could almost understand (def the wrong word) being run terribly if the idiot in charge was trying x, y and z, chopping and changing and desperately trying to make something work.. I'd still be furious but I could get my head around wanting to start afresh if something didn't pan out well over a period.. a turnover of staff at board level wouldn't indicate that the club is being run well but would at least show that the stupid moron had identified things weren't going to plan . Instead he's just repeated mistakes, doubled down on them, and rewarded proven failure.. it's unforgivable, it's self sabotage..
-
What?? I mean from the sense we shouldn't know he exists.. We shouldn't be in such a mess..
-
We shouldn't even know who Nick De Marco is..
-
Fofana injury in that pre season friendly in 2021 one of the bigger sliding doors moments the club has had..
-
Missing the point of a phoenix club here..
-
I don't think we'll drop to League Two but I do think we'll just stumble along and exist in League One for some time..
-
Probably more one for the unpopular opinions thread but in my opinion we would have more points now if we appointed Martin last July.. I still don't think we'd have been any good, though..
