  1. Harry Maguire is in the starting line up v Lithuania
  2. He is a similar build to Waghorn (perhaps not quite as bulky - yet !) - and plays in a similar position and style. I saw him play for Cov in the EFL Final - but he never managed to kick the ball over the stand though (I always thought Waggy would make a good Rugby Full Back) !
  3. It finished Uganda 0 Ghana 0. Amartey was playing Centre Back. I guess a clean sheet, means he did OK - I haven't seen a match report yet ?
  4. Daniel Amartey has been named Captain for Ghana's 2 games this week - a World Cup Qualifier and a Friendly. Presumably, he'll also play at Centre Back ? Why does he never play there for us ?!
  5. It's got to be the theme from the Great Escape - and not just because of the 'Great Escape' season - it's a good stirring tune everyone can join in with !
  6. http://www.faw.cymru/en/news/george-thomas-brace-inspires-wales-u21-win-liechtenstein/ He's got to at least get a spot on the bench for the First team SOON ?!
  7. 28 in the East (side) Stand - we had choice of any seat in the whole of that side stand ! The 981 Carlisle fans had the whole of the West Stand ! No ends were used.
  8. He was a bit shaky in the first half, didn't dominate his area and was slow in coming out to pick balls up; but seemed a different guy in the second half.
  9. I thought Josh Knight and Sam Hughes were magnificent in the centre as well. On that peformance, either could be pushing for a regular spot on the first team bench in the Premiership, as well as League cup run outs.
  10. Bramley, Hughes and Knight were outstanding, with a second half barrage from Carlisle they were dominant. The full backs were OK, but did let Carlisle cross far too much. Midfield and attack were generally so-so, but Gordon and Ndukwu did look lively in the first half. Choudhury is a bit of an enigma, occasionally spraying wonderful passes and getting good tackles in, but often looking really dozy. We particularly missed the absentees playing with the International U20 and U21 teams (Thomas, Johnson and Pascanu) - hopefully they'll be back for Morecambe (which we need to win well, to qualify) This was a good performance against a near full strength, physically strong, League 2 team.
  11. Tickets are £10 on the night, from the Main Warwick Road Ticket Office. Join us City fans in Pioneer East Stand, Section 5.
  12. Yep. City fans in Pioneer East Stand, Section 5.
  13. I agree - underhand and slightly sleezy, but with an element of truth and discovery - everything anyone could want in a football forum !
  14. Ken Way talking to an Irish newspaper today. He thinks Nige would have won the League as well as Claudio ! I definitely don't agree with him on that Pearson point - but I do think he makes some important comments about Shaky and the attitude of the players:- http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/ken-way-leicester-would-have-won-the-title-under-nigel-pearson-447085.html
  15. If Shaky gets the job - even if it's only until June / July - there's a good chance that Matty will come back and be offered a contract extension (contract negotiations would take place immediately after the end of the season). Shaky will know what he's capable of, when fit and if Matty maintains form and stays injury free for Barnsley, he must be in a good position to come back for us.
  16. But they might have watched the Barcelona game ! 2 good goals against a full Barca team !
  17. I will be also be interesting to see what the fee is - we let him go on a free, of course.
  18. I didn't know whether to put this in Transfer Talk, but thought not, as it's an ex-player; but, I see Sky are reporting Brighton agreeing a fee to take Knocky from Standard Liege. It would be interesting to see how he does a second time in the Championship.
  19. You've got to say, that City's French Scout(ing team ?) must be pretty good, to be able to spot a couple of gems like Knocky and Mahrez in their Second Division. It might augur well IF we get to the Prem this summer - though I doubt we'll ever match Newcastle's obsession with 'Frenchies' (and they, like so many Prem clubs, only seem to go for French League 1 players)
  20. Welcome Large Frank. My wife wanted to know if your Blogging name is anything to do with your 'manly capabilities'. I explained it's probably nothing to do with Malcolm Manley, but with the esteemed Frank Large. I wait to see if you correct me !
