I think the point is nuance. If you said “He’s not good enough for our team” I’m sure most people might agree. It’s the “he’s shit” which is just objectively untrue that people react to. I know football is a game of passion, or it should be, and we’re all guilty of hyperbole sometimes but he’s not “shit”. He’s “ok”.

Yes I would rather watcher Barbie again over Oppenheimer any day of the week. Didn’t think either lived up to their hype but Barbie was a fun/enjoyable film and I much preferred it.

I think in the post you were replying to the writer used the term “best” to mean “most exciting/competitive” not necessary “best quality/ability”. It’s hard to argue with them in that regard.

Yeah Downey Jr was very good. I’m a big fan of slow films so it’s not just that I don’t “get it” (well, I hope not, maybe I’m just dumb). I love boring, procedural stuff in general and I’ve had a life long obsession/fear of nuclear war but the film just did absolutely nothing for me.
