  1. Maybe we should just go for jobe Bellingham instead
  2. Barnes keeps shooting because he knows how bad ward is haha
  3. I think if any piece of business screams Steve cooper it was this. We didn’t need the position to begin with, so it really seems like that’s a specific manager request. we drastically over paid and he’s just not got anything special about him. Don’t get me wrong, all clubs need someone like him, but when we’ve already got winks and ndidi, it’s just a poor bit of business.
  4. Got to stop passing it around the back tbh, they are pressing too well
  5. How does Bruno not get booked for that dive? If we want var to work, bookings for dives need to be brought in. because stop asking them to try and con you, because there’s so little consequence at the moment, so why not throw yourself down in the box.
  6. Get facundo on yesterday
  7. Wanya played 60 mins in a 2-0 loss today, his first start since injury I think
  8. Jake Evan’s reminds so much of Harvey Barnes. Get him out to Barnsley already!
  9. 13 is a majority mate
  10. The loan system works, it always has! Very few players are ready to jump straight in at a top level, even less with the pressure of a relegation fight. Let them learn and develop properly. it’s proven to be the best for development. unfortunately for Sammy it’s not worked out for him at Dundee but he 100% needed to go out on loan! Harvey Barnes would have been sold in his first summer as a pro if we’d played him instead of sending him out because he would have looked like dog muck.
  11. It’s going to sting if Harvey scores
  12. Is there any world where Jack Grealish becomes available for loan? I’m sure the majority of clubs in the league would take him.
  13. i’m not saying it’s working for him but it what he’s trying. I can guarantee he knows that playing this way is the not going to get the best outcome. He’s seen what happened for kompany and will be licking his lips
  14. To add to this, there’s a really nasty phenomenon reaching the game right now, where managers are choosing themselves ahead of the clubs they manage. They use the big club philosophies no matter the outcome on their team, just to show that they could do a big job. it worked perfectly for Kompany and not for Burnley. Russell Martin is very obviously doing this as well. he’s not dumb, he knows that trying to overplay from the back with the worst players in the league will cost them points but it will potentially show his next employer that he could work with better players. Whilst Enzo is off riding high, I like to remind myself that as great as he is, he would have doomed us for his personal gain. it was project Enzo and he would never have attempted to be pragmatic to earn us more points… because the philosophy would have landed him a Chelsea job. There’s an argument that. Mckenna could be doing the same at Ipswich… does he genuinely believe this is the best way for them to stay up? Or perhaps is he considering how it makes him look for his next job?
  15. No different to Enzo really. The style he uses works exceptionally well… if you have the best players. Both would fail massively if they were given weak squads. His ideas are designed for dominating, they don’t create the dominance, it’s the individuals ability that leads to that working. He is very obviously a genius for seeing how those methods give them all the advantages to win a game of football. it doesn’t make a jot of difference if he couldn’t do it at stoke because pulls couldn’t make man city dominate the way he has either. Pep is the best of the best for managing a big club, that doesn’t mean he’s the manager that can most improve a side, just that he knows the formula to make a top squad win. Horses for courses and all that.
  16. That’s genuinely what you thought of him last season? To me that’s just recycled old criticism of him from before. if we’d have just signed a bloke from Argentina who came in and played like kdh last season, you and everyone else on here would be screaming that we get him back. We have a weird way of looking at our own sometimes. But maybe It appears I just rate him as a footballer much more than most on here.
  17. Glad it didn’t. if it had, we’d have kept dean smith and a lot of the other mercenaries we’d gathered. we wouldn’t have learnt anything or even tried to look into how to fix things. it would have let certain people off of the hook and we would have just been relegated the next season ( especially with the points deduction) in what would likely have been a far worse situation. Hindsight is 20-20 but the best outcome was to go down, flush out as much muck as possible, reset and get promoted again in a better place and personally, I think we are. we have a platform to build on once again and hopefully we get the next month right and we will be ready to go again!
  18. Well how in the F is Enzo working with Palmer then?
  19. We’ll have to agree to disagree on that one then. I’m thinking logically rather than just liking the bloke, I genuinely think he’s an excellent footballer and progressed massively. Absolutely no reason he can’t get back to being the combative midfielder we got used to when he first came on the scene… difference is that now he has improved his quality in both ball retention and end product. Id be incredibly surprised if we signed someone better than him in January imo. If we’re serious about staying up someone like him, another attacking mid, rb and striker will probably all be needed. my personal shopping list would be a young right back to bed in. Return Eddie and get a striker on loan form a foreign league (I think that’s allowed?) . kdh on loan and then id probably hope we sign a winger from a bargain market like scandanvia or South America. Get that right and we’ve not spent a fortune but have a much better chance
  20. It’s a loan though and it’s guaranteed quality over risking it all on a tete. you will use multiple midfielders regardless of injury so it’s really not the same as a keeper. But should something happen to mads we’d certainly be down
  21. I don’t get the “we don’t need him” argument. we are a soumare injury or slip of form away from being stuck using 2 defensive midfielders. ( hamza, wilf, winks, skipp) We need a second 8 who can offer more than just defensive work and sideways passes
  22. I keep thinking someone significant will name themselves after you
  23. yeah fair enough but I think it seems like they are improving at both ends of the pitch recently. I think they should be in the conversation but just can’t see it personally. I’m still pretty firmly in the Everton or us camp, we just need them to ditch dyche. my guess would be that wolves will get a new manager and hit the standard bounce and pull to safety with that squad. Hopefully, not the case though.
  24. Curious what makes you think palace? I’d have said they look the most likely to pull away. Good quality in the squad and seem to have a decent manager as well.
