Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
AKCJ replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think he's got every right to be annoyed that we're not proactive in the market. But to me this is Ruud trying to deflect blame for the last 6 weeks. Ultimately not many managers will survive 7 defeats on the trot. He will know that. Just as he will have known that we're constantly walking the tight rope of PSR and that the squad is pitiful before taking the job. -
It was the same with Brereton-Diaz. Someone asked him why he was in the crowd and he was laughing about him being a massive Blades fan.
-
Entire forum slagged me off for being against signing him and 6 months later he's in the MLS.
-
The Souttar injury is a proper kick in the nads. Sheffield United would have almost certainly paid for him.
-
I hate it when other clubs abuse multi-club ownerships so I can't say I'm disappointed. Also, if I were a Leuven fan, I'd want my player to be sold to the highest bidder and not to someone else for cheap just because they're owned by the same person.

People compare Forest to the 5000/1 team. In January 2016 we signed Demarai Gray to bolster our title charge. He cost us £3m and was a top 10 record signing for us at the time. They're trying to sign proven Premier League players for 30-40m+

No it wouldn't! They would still not want you there. Lets say the average spend for a STH at a home game is a fiver. You're not even covering Vardy's weekly wage with that amount of money. It's a drop in the ocean. They don't want "legacy fans". In their ideal world they would sell your ticket to a tourist that spend hundreds at each game and then never see them again as they go back to their homes on the other side of the world. They don't want season ticket holders. It's a frame of mind and nothing to do with whether or not you buy a programme/coffee/hot dog etc. There is no "Oh shit we've pissed off the local community and fanbase again" with this ownership. It's "here they are moaning again why don't they just **** off".
-
Why? They still don't want me at the ground? No point making my time worse for absolutely no reason.
-
Not significant in terms of numbers of bodies (i'd guess in the hundreds) but absolutely significant in terms of match day spend.
-
Yes, but that's not my point. If I stop buying a coffee and a programme before each game, the club won't give a ****. They still don't want me there as a season ticket for cheap prices each week. They would rather I was a tourist there for a day out.
-
Sorry to break it to you but yes there are.
-
Tourist attraction applies to Premier League football. People travel across the world for it.
-
Personally think we all just decided that he's our best player because of his form for the opening few months and are ignoring the fact he's actually not been that good since. 1 goal and no assist in his last 12.
-
Should be making at least one of these signings per season. Not sure why we stopped.
-
I don't think voting with your wallet works. They already don't want you there because you don't buy programmes, food, scarves, shirts, coffees etc. They will be more than happy for you to not spend the money going to games so that some tourist can come in and lap everything up.

How the "matchday experience" helps explain protests at LCFC
AKCJ replied to The Fosse Way's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah, it's only really a night game where I'm pressed for time that I'll get something to eat or if it's freezing i'll get a hot drink. -

I'm the exact same. The only issues I have are that it's impossible to get any food/drink at half time without leaving after about 40 minutes. But this is so low down on the list that I really don't care. Also there is no personality in the stadium now that Birch is rarely well enough. The new tannoy bloke sounds like he's never been to a football match in his life. Serious "I was gonna kick it up the other end and put it right in their ****ing goal hole, but no dice" vibes from him. I would also pack the ridiculous pre-match videos in. None of those impact my enjoyment on the day. All I care about is whether the players turn up and work their nads off for 90 minutes. -
Horrible watching this awful Wolves side and knowing we're miles away from them.
-
Clubs forcing fans to use resale platforms is seriously minging.
-
The record is 20 losses on the bounce.
-
Without wanting my head to be bitten off, I can see why you'd want to take off a 20 year old who was trying to do everything by himself. However that was clearly not the right time to do it. His attitude was rubbing off onto other players and as soon as he was subbed, our intensity dropped to almost 0. The timing was awful and Ruud was rightly booed for it.
