No Monga in the Man City squad tonight is a surprise.

As I say, he's made nigh on 200 Premier League games. You don't do that if you're a poor player. You don't regularly get that sort of a bargain for a capable mid-table level fullback.

No point having a keeper like that sat in the stands. Let the youth players develop in youth football.

We obviously need one in fairness. Hopefully it's on a short term deal until January where we can realise the mistake we made in not signing a genuine 1st choice keeper.

Fullback we sold to Fulham when we got relegated. Played about 200 Premier League games. Good player signed for about £14m so decent signing.

Have I missed something with Boehly or is this just adding 1 and 1 together and getting 3?

I know, i'm just saying that while Cifuentes actually had a philosophy (unlike Ruud, Cooper and Rowett), he never changed his tactics which either made us easy to play against full stop or easy to mitigate against mid-game which meant we never got a 90 minute performance from him.

We haven't played well over 90 minutes and comfortably won a game yet. He'll need to do that before we get too far ahead of ourselves. Said the same things with Cifuentes before we realised just how crap he actually was and that we'd wasted 20 games or whatever it was. Martin needs to have a comfortable win in the next two league games before we start to get anywhere IMO.

Not convinced he's the right man at all but my eyebrows were raised that we didn't defend in a 4-2-3-1 last weekend. Having a philosophy of wanting to retain possession, build from the back and control the tempo of games doesn't mean we just play the same way each week. If he can show that he's willing to adapt his tactics to suit his philosophy then i'm much more comfortable in him staying because he didn't show that at Ranger or Southampton. Enzo would make constant tweaks to his team but ultimately played with the same idea. Hoping Martin can prove he's willing to do the same.

Crazy isn't it? Essentially outside of Sky Sports and Match of the Day or a half-arsed highlights programme on ITV4 your best option for following the EFL is to listen to podcasts. The further down you go, the less people care and when you're not in a promotion battle barely anyone cares. Currently the only coverage Leicester get is because people are laughing at how shit Russell Martin is. As soon as we sack him and appoint the next Cifuentes/Rowett/Cooper/Smith etc then we'll get next to no national coverage.

Mostly because we're just not that interesting anymore. If you're not in the Premier League then you're not covered. Especially since the new EFL deal means our games get hidden on Sky Sports + or whatever it is. No real public interest in Leicester City's inner workings. Everyone knows we're run by an idiot and that we're haemorrhaging money. The average person doesn't need to be told that numerous times.

What happens when they're told they're unable to access the NHS, have their passports taken and they have to spend £10 on milk and bread from their village shop because of complicated export licenses. Small boats and immigrants have warped the minds of millions of supposedly decent people. If they don't like what the UK offers them then they're free to leave.

Get Filip Marschall on loan from Milwall. Doesn't treat the ball like it's a ticking time bomb, had a fantastic season for Stevenage last season and got 19 clean sheets in League 1. Currently just sat on Milwall's bench.

Yeah I think Daka and Soumare were both players that just ultimately failed whereas El Khannouss and Castagne were probably seen in the same way but ultimately succeeded here. That flip of the coin is where we've lost out a lot recently. I would add Mavididi, Winks, Cannon, Faes and Okoli in that bracket of "most people thought they'd be alright but they were actually shit". Fatawu, Fofana and Hermansen came into better environments and were able to be sold for big profit as a result. Although I would argue that pre-injury Fatawu was worth a lot more than we eventually got for him.

There's no football fan that watches a striker miss 9 chances but score one and thinks he's had a good game. Just as there's no football fan that watches a goalkeeper make 9 blinding saves but let one in and thinks he's had a bad game. Football isn't that black and white unless you're an idiot.

Sounds like his dad has been in his ear pushing for a move. I think the dollar signs have lit up his eyes and he thinks he should be on a 1st team salary/play time already.

This is it really. You can just see that we're a worse team with him in goal. Total bag of nerves that permeates through to the rest of the team. A good goalkeeper has to have that air of arrogance around them. They've got to have a bit of a strut and be able to remain above it all when people are losing their heads. Kasper was a fantastic keeper and for the most part was completely in control of the situation yet when his head went (which happened semi-regularly) then he would invariably make mistake after mistake because he wasn't concentrating. McCarthy (and Ward before him) is constantly fretting and it's costing us. The Norwood freekick happens because he's too worried about the cross into the box that he totally forgets to set up his wall correctly and position himself properly. Basic error that only happens because he's not calm and composed. King Power have only ever gone out and bought two genuine 1st choice goalkeepers and they were fantastic (Schmeichel and Ward). Every other keeper has been brought in as back up. Really hoping the club sees their error and goes out to buy a proper goalkeeper that doesn't play like his wife and kids are being held hostage.
