We're not talking about him as a League One player. OP said if we get promoted and he has a great season. It's not out of the question for a Championship club to get that sort of money. Leeds got far more for a right back ffs.

They want him because he's an elite prospect. It's pretty straightforward.

We sold Monga for £10-12.5m and he's barely made any impact on professional football. We sold him because of his incredible potential. Man City got him for a cheaper price because they're betting that he'll grow into a top class player. At the end of the day, he's got all the ability in the world but he's still got the body of a child. I think we've seen that Page isn't the same. He's already got the strength and pace to get away from players. I am saying that if he has the season we know he can have (we've seen his ability) then he'll be wanted by a lot of clubs. I think Louis Page will start a Premier League game before Jeremy Monga does. Simply because of the difference in athleticism. If rumours were to be believed Man United were ready to spend ~£15m on him and offer us a high sell on fee and a loan back yet we turned it down. We don't have to pretend to be humble about his worth or imagine a world where he's sought after. We've seen his ability, we've seen his leap in physicality and we know full well that top clubs are looking at him.

A cynic would say that Plymouth should have scored at least 2 of their chances in fairness.

Is it really though? Don't get me wrong, without context the fee for a League 1 player is absurd. But if (monumental 'if' by the way) he has the sort of season he is capable of and wins the league 1 player of the season award as an 18 year old then everyone is going to want him. £30m wouldn't even put him into the top 25 of the highest fee paid for a teenager.

Large part of that is that I think it took him a few games to realise that those tainted from the last few seasons will let him down. I suspect we'll settle on a squad that is largely McCarthy Joseph Souttar O'Hora Thomas Page Braybrooke Howell Chaplin Alves Riis With Bristric, Aluko, McFarlane, Kangasniemi, Lundstram, Doyle, Burns, Cullen, Watson and maybe a few more youth players to come in when needed.

If we say that last season's team was; Stolarcyzk Ricardo Okoli Vestergaard Thomas Winks Skipp Fatawu James Mavididi Ayew and the team we can make with new signings/newly promoted youth players is; McCarthy Joseph O'Hora Kangasniemi McFarlane Braybrooke Lundstram Howell Chaplin Alves Riis Who would win? For me the new team would batter the old one purely out of energy and commitment. That's before you add Souttar and Page into the team as well.

100000%. Page will win us a lot of points by himself. I'm just pre-empting the fact that there will be a game where he tries to turn on the edge of his box and it'll cost us.

Page losing the ball in the 6 is more a case of inexperience or overconfidence though. Coupled with the fact he looked tired towards the end of the game on Tuesday. He will absolutely lose the ball in a daft position and we'll be punished for it. Worth coming to terms with that. But he'll learn from it.

For a fairly tall lad it's strange to see. Can tell he's gone through a growth spurt because he plays like John McGinn and uses his arse to shield the ball. He'll soon realise he's got enough upper body strength to be able to bully other midfielders. Once he gets there and he has both aspects to his game he'll be a real force.

I agree. It's more a protest to the board which is ultimately the bigger picture and more important than any player. I agree that Martin won't stop instructing his goalkeeper to put his back 4 under needless pressure. It's just time the club realised that fans do not want to see it happen so that when we're looking at the next manager, we're not making the same conversations.

I don't agree with you. I just disagree with the notion that fans shouldn't express their feelings. Passing it in your own area to players that are double marked under a high press is asking for trouble and paying fans are sick of it.

Would not surprise me if he rested Alves. Poor lad looked absolutely shattered when he came off. After this game we go away to Stockport and I reckon we'll want to go absolutely full strength in that one. I think the back four will be the same. McCarthy in goal. I think Lundstram might start (assuming he's fit). I reckon Burns and Watson start on the wings. Bristric starts up front with BDCR in behind. One thing I do know is that only having 7 bench slots is going to cause bother all season long. Difficult to only pick 7.
