Everyone bangs on about him being slow; I don’t think he is. The bigger players always look slow even when they’re covering a lot of ground. I’d be interested to see the actual stats. I just keeping thinking back to when we had Morgan and Wasyl as a CB pairing and we always deemed them dangerously slow, yet the facts told us they were two of the fastest sprinters in the league.

I’m very sorry to stereotype, but it tends to be the older generation who moan, who think that attacking football means blasting it forward at the first opportunity. What is even more frustrating about this is the way that while people are - without explicitly saying it - lamenting the passing of the Ranieri counter attack, but based on an incomplete memory of what it was actually like to watch. For a start, we won the league with like 25% possession. So we spent 75% of the game just keeping our shape and - essentially - parking the bus. Secondly, even when we did have possession, people only remember Mahrez’s dribbles and Vardy’s insane pace chasing down through balls. They forget the endless passing around the back between Huth, Morgan, Drinkwater and Kante that was necessary to draw the opponent out and create space for the counter attack.

It’s true. About 50% of our fans seem to think we should be playing like we’re Wimbledon of 1994. Maresca’s system of play has been PROVEN to work, yet we have to put up with boneheads shouting “FORWARDS! QUICKER! GET ON WITH IT!” The way we play is not too dissimilar to the way most teams play these days. I would suggest that if you don’t like football anymore, don’t bother watching it, because, your moaning is really annoying.

Stolarczyk is a superb no. 2 I actually thought Brandon Cover looked half decent Akgün takes it round players like they’re not there. I think he’s a player. Choudhury had a shambolic first half but picked it up in the second I don’t think Marçal contributed much Justin and Ricardo changed the game
