Isn’t that what makes it so good? There are very few matches I watch this season where I think I can easily predict before kick off. That’s exactly what I want and j a league season, especially now Man City have been brought back down to earth. It will make for a way more interesting season.

Looking at who’s available for Brighton game. If Alves is fit, I’d be surprised not to see him on the bench. -

Well he never really progressed beyond the U23s did he… -
Not on the list, sorry

For those playing along at home: Rooney Old Trafford Henry Highbury Giggs Old Trafford Aguerooooo Etihad Lampard Stamford Bridge Gerrard Anfield Shearer St James Park Bergkamp Highbury Drogba Stamford Bridge KDB Etihad Shearer Elwood Park Fowler Anfield Salah Anfield Vardy King Power Stadium Not bad company
-
You have 6 of them, not a bad start…
-
That was also Jamie Vardy’s 100th combined goals and assists at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League. Only the 14th player in PL history to have 100 goal involvements at a single stadium. Can anyone name the other 13?
-
Ranieri Shakespeare Puel Rodgers Cooper Ruud Permanent managers in the PL, so it doesn’t include Smith or Enzo.
-
Not sure Vardy starts this one, three in a week is a big ask. Daka looked confident in that finish, so maybe an opportunity to give him the start. No Buonanotte, in comes Mavididi and El Khannous more central. Maybe time for Alves on the bench?
-
I’d say he’s more playing alongside Vardy than under him.

No matter how bad you think the season has been, or is going - Objective One Complete: We’re better than Derby!!!

I’m pretty sure they were looking at Rudkin when they chanted this.

Good news Ipswich have lost, bad news Crystal Palace have won.

See the Match thread is living upto it’s reputation as the beacon of positivity we all need in our lives. Compared to what we’ve been served up recently, this has been a huge improvement. Did we still make lots of mistakes, yes, with the players we have available, we always will. We simply don’t have the quality to expect perfect passing and no mistakes. All we can ask for is the lads put a shift in each week, and that’s what’s happening. Back the lads, we need this 3 points! If we can put a shift in for the next 45 it’s a perfect Ruud building block to work on what we need to.

State of the squad and rest of the season, an opinion.

So of the four who you think could start for the other sides: One is out for the season, was in on loan from another prem side because he can’t get into their 11. And one the jury Is massively out on at this stage. Mads is quality. Of the players in the squads half of them are not making our starting XI, can’t see the likes of Coady or Vestergaard making anyone else’s squad in this league. Our actual squad is really poor at this level, and will need significant work in January if we are to even come close to staying up. -
Which manager would finish higher in the table

Where’s the Rudkin option? -
Big Harry Souttar sent off against Sunderland, right on half time for a second booking.

Was it the beard that gave it away? 😂

Ben Nelson going out on loan and getting regular minutes was absolutely the right decision. Before he’s ready to step into a PL relegation battle, he needed minutes under his belt. The problem of moving players out is bigger than whoever the manager is and rests at the feet of Rudkin ultimately, we’ve had this problem for years and years. Average players on long term big contracts and to move them on, someone has to want to buy them and match their contract. We cannot sign anymore loan players. PL clubs can only have 2! We have 2. One of them probably should be sent back at the start of January to make room and get a new one in. The squad does need a massive overhaul, it’s no where near good enough. But the players that need to be moved on, need to find clubs wanting to spend money on them and with PSR if we don’t ship them out we can’t bring in replacements. The clubs in a mess from top down, and no matter what manager comes in the bigger problems will remain for years to come.

Wasn’t Viktor Johansson one of our youth team graduates? Done alright for himself, full Swedish international and a quality keeper at Championship level. -
The problem is right now, what other options do we have?

Let’s see what we’ve learned from the review into the relegation 2 years ago. Wind the clock back 2 April 2023 - Rodgers is sacked with 2 winnable home games coming up - Villa who we had thumped away and Bournemouth. We had no plan for Rodgers going and we approached these 2 games with untried and tested caretaker managers. History will tell us, 2 points in these games and we would have stayed up. We fluffed them both! Smith then came in and after an expected defeat away at Man City we got a win at home to Wolves. Now fast forward 2 years, we have just sacked a manager. We have 2 winnable games coming up. Have we learned? Have we got a plan? If we go into the West Ham home game with a caretaker manager and we get 0 points from these 2 games, it will be clear nothing has been learned and those in charge of the football side of the business need to pack their bags and leave.

It’s still to small a sample size to have any barring on what happens with the club. Social Media in any form always leans towards the negative. If they listened to anything on here Rudkin would have gone years ago.
