Well if you don’t get it now … I’ll leave it with you
-
My point was around collective responsibility. When things are going really well everyone can take credit - from the DOF to the janitor. The converse, however, is true when things are going badly wrong. Whether it's CE, DOF or whomever. I'd have expected more changes as our approach in recent years has clearly been wrong in ways that are beyond the remit of just the first team coach.
-
To be clear I'm not advocating for Rudkin. I really would have expected more change after the relegation season for the reasons you've mentioned. The DOF seems an obvious choice of someone you'd replace and I'm surprised that he was kept in post. I was simply pointing out that, in the absence of making any strategic change of direction, fans are looking around for someone to blame. Rudkin is now being called out not only for the financial mismanagement, but also for almost every decision the club takes that doesn't look good in hindsight. He's even pilloried for not smiling at the right time. I don't blame the fans. I blame the club whose inaction has led to Rudkin becoming a figure of hate for a frustrated fanbase.

I think when we were getting all that success he and others were rightly taking the plaudits. It’s collective responsibility and rarely down to one individual. That principle also applies when things go wrong. Many people were expecting a root and branch review, after the relegation season, but we didn’t see one. Instead all the hierarchy stayed in post and only Rodgers was sacked. Brendan was correctly blamed for the failures in the relegation season, but he cannot be blamed solely for the poor recruitment and strategies that led to our inability to sign players and the pending points deduction. The problem now is that the inactivity at board level has left people needing a scapegoat. Many have decided that Rudkin is that man and he has emerged as some sort of pantomime villain. Even if those accusing him have no real knowledge of the inner workings of the club and the real root cause of our recent failures.

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

A bit extreme that … -

The Cambiasso meeting is one of the more revered pieces of Foxestalk folklore. Some have even used it as evidence that he should be our next manager.

Questions to be asked at manager interviews

Please could you rate these goalkeepers in order of ability: Daniel Iversen Jakob Stolarczyk Alex Smithies Danny Ward -
Exactly!
-
Yes. Until somebody mentioned OGS Now his name chimes like Pep Guardiola
-
Well I wasn’t overly enamoured by Cooper, Potter or Moyes, but they all shine like bright beacons of PL managerial credibility compared to OGS. Surely we can do better than this?
-
Because historically testimonials were used as a sort of retirement fund for players whose careers were ending. They were the days when an ex player might buy a pub somewhere to make ends meet after football. These days top level footballers are multi millionaires and are usually ok unless they have a gambling or other addiction problem. The testimonial would be just for the fans and nobody can really be arsed with them
-
If it’s any consolation to anyone I’ve been told there haven’t been any talks with Steve Bruce thus far. But the person who told me was my mum and she knows **** all!
-
I think this is precisely what worries me. In some ways it shouldn’t matter, but it probably will make a difference. We, like most football clubs, have a very fickle fan base, but usually a manager would be afforded a short grace period. If this starts badly, however, I could see many becoming very negative, very quickly.
-
But apart from that is it factually accurate?
-
Well my hair has started to recede in recent years. So I just want another cool, good looking, bald manager. I just feel it’s helping with my transition into my new reality

Italian Manager - Win League Italian Manager - Win League Maurizio Sarri - .....????
-
Rodgers wouldn’t have been a bad appointment at all if we’d have been brave enough to sack him a year or two before we did. Somewhere we lost that ruthlessness that saw us sack Ranieri a year after winning the Premier League
-
Has anyone mentioned Iain Dowie yet?
-
Apparently there was a rumour that Esteban Cambiasso organised a players meeting at LCFC 9 years ago. I think that more than qualifies him to be our next manager on a long term contract
-
Unfortunately, for us, I think Daniel Farke has negotiated a long term contract with Leeds to make them the best team in the Championship - every year for the next five years!
-
I have a suggestion. Why don’t the big six clubs just all have a bye into the Quarter Finals. Then two other clubs could come in each year by invitation only. Every other club could just do one! Oh hang on … I think this sounds a bit too familiar… perhaps someone has already thought of it.

Add: 5 substitutes

That’s my theory on Bielsa. Whatever happens it’ll be fun!
