If Ndidi was fit I wouldn’t be bothered. I only want him because we’re light on midfielders. Maybe Akgun can step up because Praet certainly won’t. We’re still liking a bit of bite in midfield without WN. Even if Sensi does sign he won’t provide that, but would be useful to at least have another option

Agreed. Praet seems to have a half decent game in every 20 or so and then people will pop up and say: “ … always thought he’s decent” etc. The vast majority of the time he’s either been average or invisible. I live in hope that he might make a contribution at this level especially when we’re short of midfielders, but not holding my breath that his contribution will be instrumental in us maintaining form. If we do go up then I don’t think he’s the player we need. If we stay down he’ll be gone anyway

Totally agree. I don’t get this obsession with “good test against a Prem side” as if it would be any sort of indicator IF we go up. It’s a one off cup tie The only “test” I want is against the sides we need to finish above in the Championship. The best possible draw would be against a poor side at home where we could rotate and keep everyone fit and ready. Cup draws are cup draws and we just have to get on with it but this, for me, is a sh1t draw!

I hope we get a Premier League team so that we can test our strength and tactics in preparation for a league that we don’t know we’re going to be in yet, in a one off cup game, with two teams who may heavily rotate and with a squad that might be irrelevant to what we’ve got at the start of next season anyway. Great plan!

A one off cup game isn’t going to tell us “what level we’re at”. The only level that matters is right now and whether we’re better than 22 teams in the Championship. We’ll worry about the Premier League IF we go up and see what the new squad of players can do.
