The only advantage he’s got over JJ is that he’s left footed. But yes I agree

Is Soumare getting regular game time with Sevilla? I don’t really follow the foreign leagues I’d be interested to know whether he’s as bad as I think he is or whether he’s “doing a Vestergaard”

It’s not really been thought through with any sort of intelligence. Our last 10 years history has arguably been the most remarkable of any team in world football. I don’t think that’s an overstatement One thing he is correct about, however, is that success does bring a lot of fair weather fans and a sh1t atmosphere along with it. I’d much rather have the Filbert Street atmosphere when we were shite. I wouldn’t, however, sacrifice the PL trophy, FA Cup trophy and European games for a return to the previous atmosphere. It’s just a shame it couldn’t be combined with the success and profile the last 10 years have brought.

It’s the Seagrave Curse!! 👿 -
I don’t think we can read as much as we are doing into performances last season. We were a team bereft of confidence and direction. Some players, who are clearly PL quality, failed to perform in that team. I’m reasonably confident that Justin, Ricardo, Winks, KDH, Ndidi are all PL standard. I feel like Faes and Hermansen have all the attributes to play at that level in a confident, well coached team. I’d also like another look at Vesty there as everything he’s done this season has challenged previous thinking. The don’t know pile for me is: Doyle, Mavididi, Fatawu and Akgun, but definitely they’re all worth places in the squad. Fatawu, in particular, probably shouldn’t be given the responsibility of being the main winger, but has years ahead of him to make the grade. I’d probably add Vardy and Nacho on to the move on pile. Vards for reasons discussed in the other thread and Ian because I just think we should move on from him now. He’s not a player I’d want to rely on

Probably my favourite LCFC player of all time. The word “legend” is often overused, but it was written for someone like Jamie Vardy. That said all good things must come to an end. One thing is for certain and that is we can’t be offering him a contract on anything like the terms he’s on now. That money will be well spent on helping us secure our squad next season. Do we keep him on reduced terms? If we do get promoted then I’m not sure he’s still the man for another shot at the Premier League. He’d only be a bit part player at best. Unless his overall role changes with some “off pitch” duties. If we manage to cock up promotion from here then he might be useful as a squad player if he’s happy with that. Personally hoping that we get promoted, JV leaves for a big pay day in the states and Rebekah becomes a New York or LA socialite and social media icon. That would be a satisfactory end to an incredible era

Agreed - I’m just not bothered about doing business with Leeds. It would actually be good to get some cash for him, but for what fee? I’d like £5m, but would probably take £3m
-
It’s being reported that Sheffield United are sending him back and that Leeds are thinking of coming in for him. When he first came into the side I thought he looked steady, but not spectacular. You couldn’t really say that he did anything that would make him a standout, but he didn’t let us down - particularly during the injury crisis and FA Cup run. Last season I thought he was awful. He seemed to just defend in no man’s land. Neither tackling his appointment or defending the ball. He was bad even amongst a lot of players playing well below their best. So I don’t rate him, but still would have mixed feelings about us selling to Leeds. Despite our current lead over them I’m unsure I’d want to do anything to help them https://motleedsnews.com/comment/leeds-united-transfer-news-daniel-farke-to-get-third-swing-at-luke-thomas-as-sheffield-united-set-to-send-him-back-to-leicester/

Yep - that’s the fella. I was also thinking Jeff Schlupp, but couldn’t be arsed to research it
-
I can’t remember his name, but didn’t one of the youth team players score a hat trick on debut in the League Cup? He left for Rangers a season or two later
-
I’m the most pragmatic and risk averse individual going when it comes to following Leicester, but even I am getting close to the point of writing Leeds off. If we extend the gap to 20 or still have the 17 point gap in 5 games time I will be drawing a line through their name. That’s not to say that Leeds couldn’t still close the gap, but a swing that big would have to be closed by a major collapse in our form and Leeds catching us would probably be the least of our worries. A swing of 20 points would indicate that we’ve gone seriously off the rails to an extent that another clubs form would be largely irrelevant

The thing is that you don’t win any league by beating the best teams in one off games. You win titles by beating everyone else week in/week out. That’s where the “Stoke City away on a cold winter night” analogy came from. Top of the table clashes will be hyped up at the time, but ultimately it’s just another 3 points. Strangely enough the exact same points total we got for beating Rotherham
-
No it was two against Udders on debut. He scored a hat trick two games later (I think) against Bristol City. He also scored one of my favourite goals when the goalkeeper blasted the ball against him and it went in the net. I think that was against Burnley, but could be wrong
-
I don't see him missing AFCON unless he's genuinely injured. It's a major tournament and it's not early in his career (where he might not play) or late in his career (where he's stepping back from international football), but he's in his prime. He's also one who might not even be around at Leicester next season so I don't see him not going out of loyalty If he is injured then, for obvious selfish reasons, I just hope we get him back quicker than if he had actually gone to AFCON. Him, Winks and KDH are the best midfield in this division and for different reasons Butch, Sick Note and the Dolphin don't quite measure up as replacements. Maybe Hamza, but he's become the cover for Winks and Ricky in the Enzo system
-
I think that’s true of all football managers though to some extent. When everything is going well we hang on their every word. If not then everything they say is dismissed as BS. I think RM has a bit of a “blokey, look at me” style that doesn’t appeal to me, but at least he was honest, which is something we don’t always get. Brendan Rodgers, for example, always sounded a bit like a sketch show cliche in all his press conference debriefs and never really approached anything that sounded like an honest appraisal
-
I do feel relieved that after losing Thomas, Kristiansen and Castagne following relegation that we somehow managed to keep our best two full backs at the club. JJ and Ricardo are high end PL quality at their best
-
Foxestalk in summary: Cannon after a few brief cameos - this guy looks rubbish. Can’t see him being what we need Cannon after full debut and two goals - this guy is a gem. He’s like Harry Kane If I was a betting man I would say the long term outcome will be somewhere between the two
-
Still lots of dross on the payroll affecting our ability to be proactive in the transfer market. It was one of (a great number of) the factors that led to our relegation. I’d hope we’re working as hard to move some players out as we are to bring players in. 5 goalkeepers is an obvious area, but getting Praet and one of the strikers off the books could help us greatly. Where do others see the priority areas? I’m thinking cover for midfield as I still live in fear of an injury to Winks or KDH
-
I presume this means that Birmingham City are going to have to change their name again having been rebranded as: Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City I’m also amused that the “Wagatha Christie Derby” never made it further than some sort of wet dream in the head of a Sun headline writer

Thank you I need this sort of reassurance. After supporting LCFC for 35 years my mind is constantly trying to invent new ways that we could **** this up!

Meanwhile from the Huddersfield Town forum: "Oddly, for a team which is top of the league by a mile, packed with stars and able to score at will, Leicester really are insanely boring to watch." Well at least we've given them something to cling on to and, to be fair, its an opinion I've seen expressed multiple times on here
