  1. Such a superb game.
  2. Yeah. The cycle of violence and vengeance is very much a thing.
  3. I'll be honest, I'd take any measure that would involve the big players actually having enough of a conscience to vote for the UN to go in and at least try to manage the situation.
  4. Breathtaking stuff.
  5. Yep, that's an order of magnitude more obvious now.
  6. Well, that's a nice slow start to get us all into things...
  7. Probably "not my circus, not my monkeys, but anything that deflects interest from me doing vile stuff in Ukraine is good".
  8. It really would, wouldn't it? But it is only filthy realpolitik that is stopping it.
  9. And we love you guys too.
  10. Well, someone needs to hold up the Saffers, they're a pain in the arse at World Cups, so yeah.
  11. Like I said, those with no really demonstrable existing stake in the affair probably would, yeah. Hopefully, anyhow.
  12. Entirely neutral nations (Nordics, Western Europe, East Asia for example) would be best, I think. Do agree that they could become targets for both sets of extremists, but if that happens then at least the situation becomes crystal clear, and a much stronger response from the international community, that might actually solve the problem, becomes much more likely.
  13. The US and China could threaten or impose sanctions and the UN could send in peacekeepers as a matter of course: That's part of their original reason for existing, after all. Of course, it won't happen because, again, the bigger powers don't want to go to the trouble (as they hardly ever have when it comes to "regional" problems like these), but I think them at least having the political and military capability to address the problem is a matter of record.
  14. The bigger powers that be could stop this tomorrow if they wanted to. But the simple and rather ugly truth is that they won't, because it is more politically expedient for them to see this situation play out, with all the blood and suffering that entails.
  15. That will be 50/50 tonight I think. If they do win then of course they reach the final and go furthest.
  16. Wonder what price it was before things started for England to be the NH team that went furthest at this tournament?
  17. Well, any one you walk away from, I guess.
  18. Nah, if we somehow make the final I think we'll fluke enough to win it. But I really can't see that happening.
  19. Look, we're either gonna lose embarrassingly here or get humbled by the French or the Saffers in the semi anyway. Quit fretting.
  20. Fvck me, must have done something the piss off the powers that govern the Universe today. First the cricket and now this.
  21. England have just been efficient today, and that's enough.
  22. High tech and information warfare is something that the Israelis have always done very well. They know its value.
  23. Aging like... well, something that ages very badly England looking like they may make me look very daft. You're right, something not right in the camp.
  24. I don't think so much, tbh. 35-40 overs to knock them off, can imagine the top order will go hard at their bowling.
