This team does not want to play for this manager. This is seriously grim viewing.

Exactly. Can anyone think of one standout performance in 60 games? Or even one 7/10 performance? He's less effective than Dennis Praet - say no more.

Huge game for Cooper, this

I agree with near enough everything you've said, but I do think the current campaign is actually very similar to Rodgers' final year. We can't defend, our underlying stats are horrendous, selections feel like guesswork, and the manager doesn't seem to have the confidence of the players - it's very comparable. Cooper hasn't done it across a few years like Rodgers did, but what we're seeing on the pitch is pretty comparable, I'd say.

I'm guessing his heart isn't in it at all. -
....and that's on his better days, and I'm not even joking. It's such an obvious area for other managers to exploit, yet Cooper seems to throw him to the slaughter every week. Watch Ipswich do exactly the same again on Saturday.

Bizarre decision to play him tonight. He's in horrible form, famously injury-prone and has struggled for fitness in the second half of games recently....what was to be gained by starting him in a game we were clearly going to throw anyway? Now his confidence will just be even more shot.
-
I've got this horrible feeling this will be the game where those horrendous underlying stats like our XGA will finally catch up with us, and we'll get walloped. Hopefully I'm wrong, and Ipswich really are even worse than we are.

I'll hold my hands up, I thought he'd be a decent addition having read the Fulham fans opinion of him, which were largely positive. I was totally wrong - I can't find a single discernible quality that he offers. He's not quick, he doesn't press effectively, he's not particularly direct. He doesn't get forward or back with any pace or urgency, he's not particularly good in tight spaces.....what exactly was he brought in to do? -
It might mean we can drop Faes, which would be nice

Post match - Man Utd Carabao Cup - 5-2 loss

It's not even worth getting het up about is it? It was over before it started. I should add - he's put massive pressure on himself to beat Ipswich after throwing that one. -

It does, mate. I'm just trying to entertain myself
-
Well we've won the second half really, as it's only been 1-0 to United in the second 45
-
This will finish 9-3. Trust me

Remember when Rodgers was picking teams to get sacked.....

I've just seen the line up. That team might make the League 1 playoffs at a push.

What do you miss from football as it used to be ?
Tielemans63 replied to Elsie Effcee's topic in General Football and Sport
While we're moaning, I miss the days before the modern day obsession with data and stats killed a lot of the unpredictability in football. Players know exactly what the opposition are going to do, almost to the minute. As such, players don't really take risks anymore in the same way. -

Absolutely. In my opinion, the billionaires have turned football into something that is less a sport, more a 24 hour media industry. It's a huge profit-making business now, punctuated by the occasional 90 minutes of actual football. The absolute rinsing of every penny from fans is particularly galling. Charging £70 for a replica shirt, for example - **** off.
