He was. Just because he’s gone on to do what he has in the game doesn’t change the fact that he was pants for us. Do you want people to ignore what they’re seeing in front of them on the pitch because a player might one day go on to do something for another club?

Good player at this level, don’t think he’d cut it in the Premier League though.

Anyone know how easy it will be to get into the upper tier rather than the lower tier with a lower tier ticket? Got a mate who had to get lower tier but we’re upper tier.

Have to admit, my jaw dropped at the irony in reading this. You’ve clearly bought the hype and been sold ‘the story’. What interest do two American Hollywood actors have in a non-league Welsh club?! Well I’d suggest it has everything to do with the fact that they’ve been able to spin a couple of series of a multi-million dollar Netflix program from it. I saw the first episodes of the first series and the idea was formed by their commercial manager. Buy a club for peanuts, sell this mad story and see if they can make a load of money from Netflix documenting it all. Now, in the process of making that investment, have they gone about it in a relatively ethical way? That’s another debate and they seem to have done some nice things along the way for the community and club. They might even have developed a genuine affection for the town and club. But don’t pretend that they’re not first and foremost in it for the money and if you believe they as individuals are down on their investment in any way shape or form then you’re naive. For what it’s worth, the two paragraphs above also apply to King Power and their investment in LCFC.

There’s just no need for dogs with massive jaws. I’ve got a Beagle and if he bit me or another dog it would cause damage but nothing disastrous. We had a border collie cross growing up and same with her. But having got a mate who has a staffy, although it’s friendly (now he’s been neutered), if that bit me or my dog the jaw size alone would make it a bigger problem. Having played tug with it, you can feel the power in its jaw. People who own these dogs that are mastiffs, pitbulls, staffies etc. are in some way shape or form attracted to them because of the fact they look a bit menacing. That’s what they are designed to be. Unfortunately it creates a problem where a) those people buying a dog because of how it looks sometimes have no idea how to handle it and end up with a pretty dangerous dog on their hands and b) those of us that have dogs that were designed to fetch dead ducks, chase rabbits and herd sheep encounter these units on their daily walks that are designed to destroy them and often pre-disposed to be aggressive.

Having been in a position as a hiring manager over the past couple of years, I’ve whittled down the two main qualities I look for in a candidate as humility and curiosity. Nothing is worse than a candidate sat in front of you who thinks every answer needs to be about how great they are or that they have no development areas. Similarly the ones who don’t want to ask a good question or show at least a vague bit of interest in the company or industry. In the past myself I’ve probably been guilty of thinking every interview question is a chance to show you know the answer or how great you are. When you’re on the other side of the interview table you can see right through it. In terms of actually getting to interview, LinkedIn is by far and away the best place to find opportunities now. I reckon 40-50% of my network are recruiters and, whilst some of the spam they tend to be guilty of putting on there as an industry is annoying, if I lost my job tomorrow I could go back through my DMs from the past month and pursue 10-15 opportunities I’ve been messaged about.
