  1. Sam Wallace has us as 7th in the Sunday Telegraph. Fair enough.... Arsenal 5th. Oh dear!
  2. You're right. Been crazy around here for at least the last 5 years (probably a bit longer). People will pay a huge premium to be within walking distance of the city centre and also loads of amenities (restaurants and bars just up the road). Typical ex working class area that has been gentrified by poncy middle class tarts like myself = house prices doubling in less than a decade
  3. Book just arrived from Amazon! I think the cover art is spot on. Makes the book standout on the shelf from others. Much more contemporary feel than you usually get with sports books. As an aside and probably more relevant to memorabilia of the season, there is a fantastic Street artist called rob wass. He has this image of a fox that is beautiful that I've purchased. Not cheap but looks great on the wall and something I can look at everyday to bring those memories flooding back.
  4. You'd be surprised. Common practice where I live. House goes for sale. Open house on the Saturday. Sealed bids same day. Sold next day for c5-10% over list price. Boom Crazy stuff.
  5. So chuffed I had bets on Reed and Fowler. Oh well always next year.
  6. Spot on Dermot. Yesterday was just another example of why Oliver is comfortably the best referee in the Premier League.
  7. Finally got around to watching mad men. Just finished series 6 so I think just one more to go. Genuinely one of the best things I've ever seen on TV.
  8. The original film is a real 10 / 10. Very highly recommended.
  9. Just caught up on the 3rd series. Absolutely bonkers but loved it. Saga Noren is just such a great character
  10. laughing so hard walking to work I lost a bit of concentration and nearly fell into the river.
  11. I take back my previous "green shoots" comment! County's players still stealing a living. minor county status beckons (and deservedly so!)
  12. Every time I visit I convince myself it won't be this time but unfortunately it still is. never mind next time maybe
  13. Last 5 wickets down for 17 though. We definitely seem to be moving forward so far this season but still a long way to go. Green shoots. Pieterson and Sangakkara both in for them. Could be a big first innings deficit here. Not long until we're bottom again which is a shame. Hope it doesnt knock confidence much.
  14. make that 86-6. benefit of the doubt maybe the wicket has become unplayable, noting the earlier Kent collapse. we'll soon know.
  15. for me it's more about the pervy way that strange dwarf to her left is looking at her!
  16. Be interesting to see how the second innings pans out. Will we see a new Leicestershire that ends up achieving a comfortable draw or a familiar scene whereby we collapse in the second innings responding to a large Glams lead.
  17. Whenever I visit Leicester I'm always shocked by the lack of a vibrant restaurant culture either in the city or outlying areas. A lack of independents outside of your formulaic Indian restaurants. Any reasons? No eating out culture? Lack of disposable income? The fact that the city is just not an inviting place to visit? It feels quite sad that carluccios, bills etc are seen as anything but bog standard but nicely decorated chains. FFS a news story that a TGIs is opening! Jeez
  18. The Eichmann Show on BBC2. Phenomenal and deeply affecting. The evil that men can do aligned to a misguided ideology that continues to resonate today. Will we ever learn? Probably not.
  19. As an addendum to this, in the last race at Kempton tonight the winner on his first race for a new trainer was backed in from 16/1 to 7/4. God I wish I had inside knowledge......
