An interesting test of Nixon's man management skills as there has definitely been signs of progress first few games. However there seems to be a losing mentality that runs deep which may be just to ingrained to turn around.

Glad you enjoyed it. Lived here nearly 20 years and would struggle to think of a city I'd rather live in the UK. Expensive though and a nightmare for first time buyers who want to buy in / near the city centre. Also really comes alive when the sun comes out. Different festivals / events in the city centre and around the waterfront pretty much every weekend during the summer months.

Remain and remain as per over 62% of the city I call home did, which fills me with a degree of pride. Also don't know anyone in my professional and personal circle who voted leave. But then again I'm a middle class tosser who lives in a relatively affluent, liberal area so on a very simplistic level that may explain this to a degree. Only people I know who voted leave were my parents who did it to 'get our country back'. Both in their 80s and have no explanation of what they mean by that. Quite frustrating. However it's done now and Remainers like myself need to stop whining and get on with making the best of what will no doubt be an absolute disaster and grasp any opportunities that do arise. Cameron has a hell of a lot to answer for here and it annoys me what an easy ride he gets in this regard. History will not look kindly on him.

Been most places I think I'd want to go. Probably just York and The Highlands that I haven't been to that I'd like to. Never been to Ireland and for some reason don't really fancy it. Don't know why. List of places I've visited and would never want to go back to is too long to mention though!

The UAE also has a very favourable income tax regime. You'd of course have to offset that with the heat, humidity, poor treatment of women, atrocious treatment of itinerant migrant workers etc. Oh and very expensive beer!

They beat QPR in the final after a replay I think. The semi at Villa Park was my first away game. Didn't think at the time that we wouldn't get to another semi for (at least 35 years)!

Well that was a strange old game. Played awful first half and were 3 up. Played awful second half and drew 3-3. Entertaining but my god this league is awful.

Just to echo what everyone is saying about Three Billboards. Definite film of the year. Mcdormand is just a great actress (that scene with the Catholic priest!) and the performance of his career from Rockwell. Can't understand however why Mcdonagh isn't up for best director. Just one of a few weird ones from the Oscar bods like why has Get Out got nominations (not a bad film by the way) and the brilliant Florida Project only got one nomination (deserved for Defoe).
