  1. Vardy : No. brilliant goal at palace but doesn’t run channels, can’t hold it up for us. Should be sub only. Obviously a legend. Best ever. But nearly 38 Eduoard: Not after seeing him at Walsall. Hope he proves me wrong Okoli: Not yet. Awful distribution Vestergaard : No chance. Too slow
  2. Talk of sacking him is too early. Let’s look at what he’s been handed Premier League quality (my opinion, not fact) Hermansen Justin (maybe) Faes (maybe) Skipp Ndidi (if playing DM) Ricardo Mavididi Abdul (maybe) Winks Buonanotte (possibly but Cooper ain’t picking him) It’s quite a small list isn’t it? What’s he supposed to do? Yes: Needs to pick a less defensive midfield at home Yes: Pick Abdul when playing a 39 year old left back But really, not a lot to work with. Give the bloke a chance.
  3. I thought this, but Enzo’s Chelsea play almost nothing like Enzo’s Leicester did last season! None of this slow build up, possession obsessed football. They go for it.
  4. Starting ahead of Buonanotte an absolute joke. FB has looked good in every game. Not sure why he isn’t one of the first names on the team sheet.
  5. Said this at the time. At least send someone out there to warm up with him. So Buonanotte came out. I got excited assuming he was therefore coming on at HT. Didn’t happen!
  6. I would agree if we had someone better. Love JV of course and his goal scoring record is ridiculous. His goal last week at Palace was sensational; outpacing England’s best centre half from the Euros with a great finish. Sublime. However, it’s often like playing with ten men because he can’t run the channels, can’t really link play (never been his game) and just means we don’t have much of a physical presence in the box. Not sure if we have anyone better though. Daka isn’t. Eduoard let’s see. JV is the greatest player to ever wear our shirt.
  7. He was crap. Compare his performance to DCL’s. Should have come off earlier
  8. Starts today 🦊
  9. Oh how hilarious to wish a young lad who is ours bad luck, and ridicule in his misfortune
  10. England job looks out of his grasp Points deduction now not a thing Could we tempt Graham Potter?
  11. Agree with all of that except Fatawu. The lad is a star in the making. The problem yesterday was he’d been told to kind of play centrally and just didn’t know where to be. Ended up trying too hard and giving away rash fouls.
  12. Players who can keep the ball , especially in tight spaces. Namely, Buonanotte or Bilal for a start. Mavidivi wasn’t knackered either, just leave him on. He’s an outlet to get us up the pitch.
  13. Very odd game management from Cooper. Absolutely invited pressure on us. Fatawu a bomb scare as he had no idea where he was playing, Coady even before the pen getting in the way of a decent performing back 4, Hamza again just meh. He’s a destroyer but seemed to be playing higher up the pitch where he just cannot play. All on the Manager this one. Don’t moan about not having enough creative players when you then don’t play them. What we needed last 20 was to keep the ball, get up the pitch. Literally had no set up or personnel to be able to do that thanks to Cooper.
  14. I didn’t enjoy his performance today.
  15. Finally a signing….. but still no striker! 😖
  16. Apart from a slight lack of pace, what weaknesses does he have? I think he’s a superb player. Ran the show for them at West Ham opening day.
  17. Pre season is totally irrelevant to me so I can’t say I’ve seen a minute of it. I’m judging him on managing a team for two games with a side who have lost their heartbeat (KDH) and once again, in desperate need of a top class striker. He’s managing with his hands tied behind his back currently. At least we’re not getting smashed to pieces like those first few games under Rodgers two seasons ago. I’m prepared to give Cooper more time and I pray he can bring some more players in.
  18. He hasn’t had long. Give it time…
  19. Other Premier League sides are more physical than us, especially in midfield and up front. Need to address this. Skipp did well when he came on and I think he’ll start the next. Playing with Vardy at his age ,away from home, is almost like playing with 10 men. Can’t run the channels, can’t hold it up for us when we need a breather. Isn’t his fault but come on, let’s get another striker to help him out because he can still get goals, just can’t be the main man at this level. Don’t understand the Mavidivi sub choice again, he’s more dangerous, and more importantly, stronger than Bobby Dr. Positives: We have one of the best keepers in the league and a good debut from Skipp.
  20. The true realisation that it is 2024, we are in the Premier League, and Daka is very likely to start up front for us in our first league game is a tough one to take. What a bloody mess.
  21. ‘need to sell’. Easier said than done. Luke Thomas barely even looks like a football player. Souttar, VK, Soumare all on massive wages so hard to shift Daka is absolutely terrible. See Luke. No one will want to buy him
  22. I knew Craig Shakespeare a little bit. I grew up in Lichfield, and him and his family lived at the bottom of the road I lived on with my parents and siblings. I think he first lived there whilst he was a player at West Brom, buying the house from a certain Carlton Palmer no less! My Dad and I, as obsessive football and Leicester fans were of course, obsessed with the player and then coach who lived at the end of the road! A nicer bloke you honestly could not wish to meet. So down to earth, always gave you time, put you at ease in his company. When he got the job at Leicester he’d always get us tickets and sometimes tell us snippets about what was going on at the club and the players. We often took his son to games with us, as he couldn’t go with Dad on the coach! Shakey had a MASSIVE influence on us winning the Premier League. I’d never disclose just how much on here as it’s private, but I think one day some of those title winners will tell the story. I remember once chatting to him whilst we were both out walking our Labradors , about Jamie Vardy. I said to him how good I thought Vardy could be. This was the middle of the great escape season. Shakey replied ‘Yep, he can play for England. We keep telling him he can be whatever he wants to be. He has EVERYTHING’. I really think him and Nigel had a huge influence on helping Jamie Vardy be the footballer he became (and still is). This one has really hit hard. Devastated for him and his family. RIP Shakey
  23. The first 30 mins was some of the best football we played all season. It did go a bit turgid after that you’re right.
  24. I think I’m in the majority here when I say I’m very much in two minds about him. When I think of some of the games last season I think , genius. Aways at Sunderland, Southampton at home, Preston away, Stoke away, Norwich away - some absolutely fantastic performances where he could do no wrong. Then I think of the turgid home defeats, those games he kept playing Daka for him to miss chances, the defeats at Plymouth and Millwall and I think , stubborn Manager with no plan B, picking his favourites, sticking to a philosophy of pass pass pass even if it doesn’t grant you results. For every kick off routine that sometimes enraged me (Winks and whoever pas pass pass pass 2 yards to each other and then back to the centre back WHY??!) im then reminded of the admiration of a sublime move from back to front, ending with a superb team goal (Watford away- everyone involved, Blackburn away- counter attack fast move finished off by a Vardy roof of the net finish). It really is hard to know how good/average Enzo is. He saved JJ and Ricardo’s LCFC seasons- never putting them through the pressure of week in week out full back responsibilities whereby we know they would have inevitably been injured. But he equally ruined Tom Cannon’s season- how did that lad not deserve a chance after his impressive run over Christmas when Vardy was out and the others were at AFCON? Would he really have missed all those chances Daka did that could have been so costly? Enzo may go on to become a huge success as a Manager, but even if he’d stayed with us, I don’t think he would have done so here. Next season feels like we need more pragmatism, more of an attack minded approach to games maybe. He isn’t that guy. Maybe it isn’t a bad thing he’s off; the cash we hope means we don’t have to sell someone like KDH, our heartbeat. I hope the board go all out and get Graham Potter now. I feel he’s the one who can keep us up and build us back up again.
  25. Source is me as I was on the same train. I thanked him for a good season and he was lovely
