    Depression

Thanks for asking. So far, so good. I knew I needed to leave my old place, but coming here has made me realise just how much I needed that. Team is lovely, the work seems more engaging, I feel like there's a better work-life split and I'll be able to keep in control of my workload better. Genuinely felt a weight lift off my shoulders after my last handover meeting. Still going through all the various bits of training and haven't got stuck into any actual work myself, yet, just shadowing really, but I'm a lot more optimistic of this going forwards. I've had more moments where I've felt happy/content in the last 2 weeks than I have in months prior to that. Not 100% plain sailing and I still have plenty of stuff I need to figure out more generally, outside of work, but I feel like step one has got me going in the right direction again.
  2. working stream, anyone?

    Depression

Start my new job on the 30th. Can't wait, the fresh start is much needed. However. Wanting to end on a good note at the current place. Had a project (mostly solo work) which has been rumbling on for quite a while with very little progress, partly due to the issues that bring me to this thread (and partly the cause of such issues...). Got a handover meeting for it tomorrow to present its current stage, so I've had all week to work on it to get it to a relatively presentable state (not working miracles or anything). But even when I'm feeling motivated, I just can't seem to bring myself to do anything about it. I'll stare at it for 5 minutes and it all feels utterly hopeless (the project/work, not things in general). Dreading this meeting tomorrow. But just gotta get through to next Friday and then I can completely forget about this place
  4. Hermansen Ricardo - Faes - Vestergaard - Justin Winks Choudhury KDH Mcateer Vardy Mavididi Gk: stolarczyk Def: coady, Doyle, nelson Mid: Casadei, Praet, braybrooke Fwd: yunus, Marcal, cannon, Alves Pretty strong match day squad there, and hopefully if we're still in a similar position come January then we might be able to pre-strengthen for the prem with a couple of quality additions. We'll be just fine
  5. If its the same as this, google suggests its some sort of infrared receiver cable.
  6. People were singing his praises after the game against Norwich, and he has the joint-highest average match rating this season (admittedly after just 2 games) on Foxestalk. He's a local lad, wants to play for the club (more than can be said for others recently), clearly has enough talent to at least do an adequate job as a squad player in the prem, and has leadership qualities that Enzo clearly respects enough to give him the armband. He was on a high salary before so this'll be on reduced terms (with clauses for promotion, presumably) and it means he's now a sellable asset rather than another player who'll end up out of contract (as so many on here keep complaining about). Honestly don't understand why people are criticising this so much? We've seen first-hand how Enzo's coaching and system has transformed players like Ndidi and Vestergaard, and there's no reason to think Hamza isnt capable of similar improvement. Rather this than spending a transfer fee + wages on someone new who won't have as much commitment and might not be a success either.
  7. Yeah. That's awful. Giving me migraines. I think I need to go lie down in a darkened room for a bit. Edit: Apparently its sold out already
  8. LCFC themselves posted several times on social media that it was an issue their end that they were looking to resolve with the provider.
  9. What's most exciting for me is that, after so few games, we seem to have fully embraced Enzo's system and are executing it more and more consistently, with noticeably fewer errors with each passing game. For such a drastic change to be bearing fruit so quickly - and bringing along previously written off players like Vestergaard and Ndidi - is a seriously impressive effort. The only real issue at the minute is the final third decision making and what to do in front of goal. But that's more about individual performances rather than tactics, so I'm confident that'll start to click more and more often as the players continue to adapt. Just look at Mcateer for instance who - out of nowhere - seems to be the most adept at getting in the right positions, making those incisive runs and causing problems for the defense. And Fatawu looks like he's going to be a real handful. Exciting times ahead...
  10. Reckon he'll have an enforced one against Blackburn as well...
  11. Isn't that the opposite of being on the ball?
  12. Sounds like it was filmed last month as well - mentions Alves being ~8 months along (injury in December) and Luke Thomas at the club, so they're probably even further on now than what it seems in the video. Both seem to have their heads screwed on and not trying to rush things too much, which bodes well. 6+ months in the gym has probably done them both the world of good, anyway! Both had the technique already, and needed a bit more about them to be able to compete against senior pros. Very exciting to see how they both develop under Maresca - it seems like a formation that could suit both of them perfectly once they're both fully fit.
