This is probably the worst opening 20 mins of a game I've seen. And yet Pompey still look way better
-
The 2 subs will probably combine for a goal
-
I'd be disappointed if they didn't
-
Why are they wasting so much time when they're so much better than us?
-
Defo pen but to be fair, hard to say for certain in real time
-
Gavin Ward masterclass already (not talking about the pen)
-
Just talk about how the club has been ruined by him and his pal, as though you didn't know he was there
-
Been a classic tactic of ours for years
-
What a dreadful start

Stupid thing to say... But I'm right there with you!

I know Xg/Xpg isn't the be all and end but the season before we went down, it was a telling story. Finished 8th but were something like 17th/18th in that table. That shows we were bailed out by having quality players, and that we weren't playing as a team/lacking in strategy/poor culture etc. That's never really left us, even under Maresca some of those things shined through
-
Problem with that is it showed a soft mentality but then some of those dossers still managed to show enough grit to win the FA Cup.
-
Getting rid of Rudkin doesn't solve anything as Top would just employ some other duffer and give them too much power. Wasting your time on Rudkin when he's a symptom, not the cause, it's stupid.

Players that are leaving or should be leaving in the summer of '26

Exactly. Except that we're under even more pressure to get promoted and some of the younger lads will be snapped up by bigger clubs -
Advertise it as such instead of selling it as coffee from Thailand. Sums up the competency or our commercial department
-
Not seen anybody say we only won it because of him, but like it or not, we wouldn't have won it without him. As we wouldn't with Pearson and co. Just as we wouldn't have been in this mess without Top.
-
Come on Pompey. Put us out of our misery. Would be so us to go into the last game with it in our hands and bottle it
-
Without being flippant, this. It isn't just the demise on the pitch or the financial mess we're in that has caused so much outrage, it's the fact that a week doesn't go by when you don't hear some story that infuriates you about how the club is run/decision making away from football. Obviously I'm sure there's plenty good but it really does feel like the negative stuff has seeped it's way into every facet of the club.

Some wild takes in there and some fair ones. He's got much more ability than he's shown but he only ever looked like he'd be a good mid-table PL winger/back up option for top 8 maybe, if he peaked. He should have been plenty good enough for where we were at last year and definitely this year.
-
This is why I want the season done. The championship is the worst for giving you hope as it really is about taking it one game at a time. Even the best teams can be poor and vice versa, which doesn't really happen in the PL. Saturday was the nail in the coffin really

I agree he hasn't torn it up but I he's still got some x factor, which Mavididi doesn't. And you're spot on that he is a boy, and that's maybe something that will hold him back in his long-term development, but all the more reason you need to help him grow that confidence so binning him if he doesn't tear it up and allowing Mavididi to start 15/20 games on the spin is not the way to do it. Plus, we desperately need something different so why has Monga, amongst others, not been given more of a go? That's on Rowett but it seems it extends beyond that as our manager's are petrified of dropping the usual suspects. It's depressing when we're losing, and seeing Monga just sat on the bench, normally introduced far too late and then starved of the ball when he is on the pitch (again, something that he has to take some blame for and work on)
-
Merit in what your saying apart from the fact that Mavididi has been a guaranteed starter in front of him, in what has without doubt, been the most pathetic attacking display I've seen from a Leicester player. So in that sense, Monga has been very poorly managed. And his confidence looks shot now but i think it's still hard to see definitively that he's not ready for this level because how much opportunity has he been given. 4 games to go and he hasn't even hit 1000 mins? That's shocking utilisation of him. I'm not saying he deserves to start every game but he should have at least been given a run of 3/4 starts on the spin and few times this season and should certainly have been the first choice on that side, this calendar year. Like it or not, we are absolutely abysmal with managing young players and have been for the majority of my time supporting the club. Only have to look at Page who did ok earlier in the season but wasn't physically ready, so fair enough he's not involved for a while (though should have been in the matchday squad). Then he comes back and looks like a completely different player, and definitely ready for this level. He's then immediately dropped and tossed from the squad for Harry Winks has been a shambles and plays with 0 commitment.
-
Yes, I think that's done but it was more to protect us. What I'm saying now is that he was an easy £20m asset and now you could see us letting go for £5m or under because of how he's been managed
-
I love Butch but whenever they ask for his opinion in the studio, he always goes off on a massive monologue
