Is this genuine? He might be crap but Skipp actually puts himself about/his body on the line and even little things like he's probably fronted up for more post match interviews than anybody else this season would tell you he's not a coward

Think the physicality aspect of LL football is a myth that needs dispelling. 2 big things that separate those at the top: Mentality. whether that's making the right decision/being able to execute under pressure/being consistent. The other thing is physical attributes. Many a player has not be able to make the step up because they are not quick enough/strong enough etc. So we'll be up against weaker and slower players in general. I think it's more that the style of football is more attritional because of the above factors. Players don't trust or have the decision making to take a riskier option so will be more direct. And if they have a physical specimen, they will want to exploit that more, so again, more direct. If we had a vaguely competent recruitment team, we could roll the league and probably be in contention for back to back promotions with the development of the young players and some steel added. But we don't have that, the young prospects will leave and the culture is rotten so it's going to be total potluck as to what happens next year

No you've got it wrong. According to lots of people on here, he's a really nice lad and the massive list of misdemeanors is simply a misunderstanding. He'll be here next year as the club is too weak to get rid. Keeping him for so long is one of the worst transfers decisions we've made as it's blocked the pathway for younger players/given an excuse to not bring somebody in instead.

How many points from the last 3 games?

4 because we'll probably shithouse a draw out of somewhere, and then remember that some of these tools aren't as crap as they have been, but they're all a bunch of cowards who couldn't hack in when the pressure was on. -
Did he? He's normally calm on the ball but he made Okoli's ball control look like Messi. And he gave away so many stupid fouls that were just cop outs. I would generally agree though that I wouldn't say he doesn't at least try on the pitch. But don't forget he was also frozen out for misdemeanors off the pitch/has fallen out with more than 1 manager

If anything, he gets way too much rope on here. He's been an abysmal signing when you think of the context. He was very good for 6 months under Enzo (but I probably could have done his job defensively in that team) but he was poor for the back end of that season. Yet people made out he was amazing that season but you never heard people giving great examples of his defending, they were just wooed by a guy being able to pass the football (a novelty for our team I know). The goal that Nicholas Jackson scored for Chelsea against us in the cup that season was one of the funniest/most embarrassing bits of one on one defending I've seen, and it highlighted how poor he is. He needs to have his positioning absolutely perfect since he cannot move and he's also crap in the air. And when he's not at it, he has such a negative effect on the team in terms of his pace of play. In a back 4, you should not be picking a centre back to be your playmaker anyway. He got away with quite a few yesterday where he slipped/was out of position. Gave away stupid fouls and looked like he'd never seen a football. If that was Nelson or Okoli they'd have been absolutely crucified. I think it's ok to admit that all our defenders have been atrocious this season.

Said it in the Winks thread but Page's treatment/game time has been one of the worst failings of the club this season. He didn't look physically up to it when he started the season so I think it was fair that he wasn't really involved. But after he went away with the England U17's (I think) and came back in to the side, he looked a completely different beast. Was so calm in possession and was now able to handle himself whilst putting himself about. So should have been a shoe in for the starting XI, let alone the matchday squad and what happens, he's immediately dropped for Harry Winks who doesn't want to be here and frankly, is inferior to Page is every aspect of the game (at least at the moment). Yet again sends out a crap message to the younger players at this club.
-
Same here. Said this often but when QPR beat us at the KP last time we were in the championship, it's one of the few times when I've been super impressed with an opposition manager because it was clearly the instructions of his that made the difference. As we've seen under multiple managers, these players can't follow the manager's instructions. Problem with Marti is that like other recent manager's, he had a lot of mitigating circumstances that would give him more slack from the fan base but he some how managed to blow it. Mainly, how decision to play young players and persisting with the likes of Faes and Winks for too long.
-
Ultimately somebody has to be bottom of those stats. But to be right down there on so many, and most of them key, shows how pathetic we've been. Majority of them are effort and intent based, yet some people still claim the players are trying their best
-
Contributed to the issues though. Vestergaard meant to be great on the ball but today he made Okoli's usual performance on the ball look like Luka Modric. Couldn't get our foot on it at any point really when we needed to. And he was shocking defensively, just lucky it didn't lead to any big chances/goals
-
Always knew big Phil Scolari was a Leicester fan
-
He should be an ok option in the PL if he was at his absolute best (don't forget the dearth of wide options we've had for over a decade). And I'm saying that as somebody who's probably been more critical of him this year than most (if you look at this thread)
-
He didn't. Daka 100% got there first. But don't blame the ref for not giving it in real time
-
Of the many disgusting decisions this season, Winks coming back in to displace a much improved/more mature Page, is right up there.
-
Comes on guys. They tried their best and worked really hard all game long. Let's not be mean
-
What? We were having a debate in which I used evidence, you did not. You then said you don't have to prove anything to me, which implies you are somehow above me and is a classic retort of somebody who is wrong, and has been given evidence to prove they are wrong, but has nothing to back it up. So just to be clear, you think that a valid debate is when one side uses evidence to back up their claim, but the other side does not and believes they should not need to? Interesting. I am quite calm. I'm not the one who keeps telling somebody else to take medication, lie down etc. You've just embarrassed yourself really
-
One of the reasons most fans think they could be a football manager is because they witness failing ones not making any subs, stick to the same tactics etc. He admitted it was a must win, yet in no way did his decisions reflect that
-
But I have to prove it to you? You're as arrogant as the players, who you think have tried really hard. You are literally the only person out of 100's who thinks they showed good fight/effort. But I must be wrong.
-
That's it Asmir, you stay back
-
Glad they've at least tried really hard
-
Disgraceful treatment. He looked great when he came back in and is then shunted out for Winks
-
. I've literally given you examples, you've given nothing back. But I'm the illogical one...
-
I absolutely am. You're talking nonsense. You think there has been fight? Harry Winks lost a an Ariel duel to 4ft Conor Chaplin. When Thomas was on the floor, desperately not needing help there was a single teammate in sight. Look at the goal, complete lack of desire to compete. Begovic was time wasting right from the start of the second half. Countless more examples. You're right that I'm 'emotional' about it but not blind to logic. You clearly are
-
Great header. Unlucky. We know he's crap but expecting him to score goals that Ronaldo wouldn't is crazy
-
Look at the difference in effort. Vestergaard shite
