Grim to look at. Not because it's not a good team at this level (should clearly win the league) but because just a few days ago that would have included; Nelson, Page, Alves, Otchere. Obviously Nelson injured/likely to have gone and Otchere now out on loan but if Page and Alves are not absolutely key players this year, then the only shoot of positivity is completely gone. Just means we're going to be stuck in this mire for good by having players not good enough for the next level who are on massive wages

Depends who you mean by this? Alves, Braybrooke, Joseph etc aren't getting anywhere near that much from other clubs. Braybrooke could probably get 5 figures, but the other 2 (and probably others) won't have the interest from championship clubs, which is where you're going to get that kind of money. We're in a pretty unique position but the players on £10k+ in this league will be few and far between. That will probably a 1/5 of some teams weekly wage bill

Wrexham a completely different scenario though. That was team languishing in non-league with the support network and other bits of a football league. Pick them up for peanuts and the potential growth is big (probably not the extent that things have happened for them), and further distorted by the fact they basically have the most unique ownership group in football which has given them access to commercial income that no other club could get in that scenario. Those guys would not have been able to do that with Leicester (or Charlton) so it's a completely different profile of Investor. I think it's important to take a lot of the emotion out of it, which is hard for us when we're in this negative environment. - Their stadium is crap. It is not something iconic, it is not that big, not to mention that expanding that or more importantly, commercialising it, is basically next to impossible. So that is a huge turn off for an investor. And a soulless bowl it may be but if we're tapping into the emotional aspect, our stadium will be associated with a PL win, Bocelli, the Helicopter crash, so there is a much richer tapestry for people to tap into. - They're in a crap part of London so not great from the prestige POV but more importantly, being in London is not actually the potential that people think it is. You are absolutely swamped with not just other professional clubs, but a huge number of PL clubs. Then think of how much people move in and out of London and there isn't that same stable base for you to pull from. Having lived in South London for 8 years, I did not come across a single Charlton fan, no exaggeration. In fact, I know of 2 Charlton fans and they were from Kent, which has a team that's probably got a lot more upside, albeit much smaller club; Gillingham. Leicester is a 1 club city with large catchment area and a lot of surrounding counties that have a reasonably rural population meaning they are not anchored to a certain place. Way more upshot there but obviously more in the Wrexham mould of investment. - Attendance wise, they are generally in the 11k to 18k range over the past 15 years. We've sold 23k season tickets in League 1, with fan protests as part of that. Being ultra conservative in terms of membership we'd probably have another 10k. We are in a completely different sphere to them. - I agree that we have pissed the potential away and we'll probably never get that back but the fact is we're still one of the most followed clubs in terms of global following, in world football (obviously nowhere near the real big clubs). Go on football streaming websites and there's specific a Leicester section on the home page, same with some kit websites. A few years and this pool will all have drifted away but they could be brought back in (they absolutely won't unders this ownership). - Charlton have had so much turmoil in recent years and the club's being sold a few years later? Not very stable from the outside looking in. The key thing is that, it all depends on the profile of Investor and just what kind of deal you can get here. Assets are far beyond anything out there for this price range but that's obviously offset by the liabilities/debt/general rot. You'll get way more people interested in us than Charlton, but maybe not when it comes to serious interest. And whilst I said take the emotion out of it, one massive thing that gets overlooked is that 99% of investors in football club's have massive ego's. They will all believe that can the person/group to turn a club around or capitalise on the potential of a club, and we're a bit of a golden goose in that sense (and frankly the main thing that can override some do the financial concerns)

Totally misread this bit as 'paying for it with a metal bucket'. Thought what an earth are you on about . Though, to be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody sold Top and Rudkin a metal bucket for all that loan money and they thought it was a great deal.

Been said but it doesn't mean anything. Some players are fine to play on as it's not the ACL that causes the pain. But equally, could mean he's totally screwed all his knee. Mind you, could 'just' be his meniscus which is a few months rather than than a season ended. Basically, pure speculation!

Shame to see we didn't take a punt on Sam Gale, who's gone to Barnsley. Stagnated a bit mainly because he was shoved at RB, but he's a super mobile centre back, good off both feet and ultra composed. Be interested to see how he develops

No. Last season he was an absolute embarrassment. Worst outfield season I've seen from a Leicester player (and he's got some bloody strong competition). If he actually made the odd decent decision, his output would have been way better as would the team's season. But even if his pathetic G/A numbers stayed the same, if he'd actually caused any problems for the opposition that would have been something. Don't think he's a lazy as some people make out, he's just a thick footballer

If we're gambling, that makes this deal even worse because that gambling also means trying to get back to the PL and somebody like Cullen, will surely have no part in that (dubious that he can propel us towards promotion). Didn't like the deal originally especially when you compare it to the Chaplin signing, but like it even less now
