  1. His best asset was always his decision making, at least in terms of a young player. Completely lost it. Needs to be benched for a couple of games.
  2. Are you actually serious? You don't think the first one from Downes was a yellow? He's so ridiculously late to the ball and wipes out Vestergaard. And the point is, it's about consistency. If you're booking our players for fouls on breakaways, then you should absolutely be booking their players for late/reckless tackles. It's like we're only allowed to be crap or the ref is. They're not mutually exclusive. We've been pathetic and deserve to be smashed, but whilst I'm sure he's not actually corrupt, Ward's performance has deserved no other description
  3. We've been cack but his performance has been beyond awful
  4. No. He didn't get a straight red for being crap. He's been isolated from minute 1 and he only got the first yellow because he was trying to bail out his crap teammates
  5. You can. Why does Downes get away with 2 bad fouls in the same part of the pitch with not even a yellow? Was absolutely a booking for Aluko but not if you don't give either for Downes. He should probably have been sent off for 2 yellow offences in a few seconds, certainly based on what he wants to give against us.
  6. Yeah it was a blatant yellow. But so were the 3 fouls from Downes, 5 seconds apart in the same part of the pitch. You think that's acceptable refereeing do you? You give one, you have to give the others. Stop using how shit we are to mask abysmal officiating.
  7. So predictable. But the ref is beyond corrupt
  8. Not exactly like they'll need the help to beat us
  9. He then stops play as soon as we win the ball back
  10. Haha, how is that not at least a booking. Arguably 2 yellows
  11. Winks started like he's absolutely hammered.
  12. Completely random amount as well...
  13. The football club owned by a betting company? Colour me surprised
  14. I agree with everything apart from this bit. We didn't actually try to push the rules initially and gain a competitive advantage did we? Tielemans arguably the only player we bought where there was a question mark over whether he would be interested without a big pay packet but even then that's unlikely. A guy we could have sold for a massive profit but instead let him leave on a free. We had a pretty modest net spend, and it's not like we were spending the money of free transfers where they expect and inflated wage. You're giving the board far too much credit; it's just complete an utter mismanagement not some attempt to be clever with the rules. Over inflated wages out of loyalty, letting valuable assets go on frees and the pathetic attempts to grow the club commercially. We deserve whatever we get just for being so poorly run.
  15. Wiping the slate clean is absolute madness. You're just absolving him of all his errors with absolutely nothing given back.
  16. Unlikely that the goal puts him on a big goalscoring run but have got to say that his all-round game looks way better this season. Lots of decent link up/hold up play
  17. Always fear with those types of challenges as to whether it's big knee damage. Basically how I did mine both times
  18. Didn't have a crystal ball so not what I meant
  19. Daka doing more there defensively than the rest of the back 4 have so far
  20. Quality finish. He deserves that
  21. Wrong pass. We've been honking then get a great chance but awful decision making as per usual
  22. This team has better players for sure so that highlights the failings of thks team
  23. I agree that suggesting he just plays safe passes is nonsense considering his passing ability is his main strength, though he is very guilty of slowing the play down too much. But you just can't blame Ayew for that rubbish pass. No player was getting that and keeping it under control. I'd expect such an experienced player to make a much better decision with the ball, but especially if you're having a very odd day with your passing as JV was. Funny thing is, Okoli's distribution was miles better than his in that game (not for a second suggesting he's not dodgy on the ball at best!)
  24. It's such a low percentage pass though. And he did it multiple times in that match and got away with it. And you surely know that Ayew is going to struggle to get the ball even if it's a go pass (and let's not pretend he could have done much more with it). It's just crap play. Attempting to suggest that it's some sort of chance to vilify him unfairly just makes you look silly and plays up to the cult of Vestergaard. Go and have a look in his thread and see how little stick he's had when he's made loads of mistakes or been partly at fault for goals. Quite the opposite of anything. And the thing is, unlike Faes who is just utter crap, Vestergaard can and should be doing better at this level than he has been this year
  25. People keep trotting this out and it's arguably true simply because he's played so much more than the others. Mind you, Thomas has been crap but he's probably made less big mistakes than Vestergaard which says a lot. There's some weird cult around Vestergaard with some people on here. His distribution last time out was absolutely shocking and led to yet another goal but there's not a whisper about him on his thread? As far Nelson, he should have been the player the team was built around so I can only imagine there was definitely something else going on.
