You're still here? And Monaco have struggled since their glory days, with players who have gone on to be great elsewhere. It happens all the time with players, it's not unique to Leicester or the UK (we know you're massively xenophobic against the UK for some reason). Wout Faes has a pretty good impact when he first came in then he gradually got worse and worse. That extended to his time with Belgium as well. It will happen again

Not exclusive to us, it's the reality of football. The difference in most players ability is minimal and it mostly boils down to confidence. That's why we were able to take a team of rejects and 2nd tier players and win the league. There are obvious exceptions with some players and generally is the physical side or the mental aspect that stop players reaching the top. But also shows that really a manager/head coaches job is much more about giving that confidence to players, which can take many different forms (i.e. a solid structure/pattern of play that players feel comfortable in).

I think they do have an effect but it's a much longer term thing. It creates resentment amongst the owner(s) and unless you're a PL owner making loads of money from the club (often indirectly), that will force you out at some point

If you're banking on Hill as a specialist batsman at this level, you're going to struggle. Weatherald has started well but again, if he's your marquee player, that's trouble. Last year everyone contributed and that's why we did so well, but to ask everyone to chip in every game this year against much better opposition is a big ask.

What a load of crock. He's absolutely lost confidence but that was one of the stand out areas of his game. Thinking back to Spurs last year when he came in and claimed tons of corners and crosses, something that was shocking to see since that is worst bit of Hermansen and Kasper's game, so you're probably talking at least a decade since we've seen a keeper do that consistently. He's been poor and got plenty of flaws but let's not pretend that he's always been bad at every aspect of goalkeeping

Because like it or not, Fatawu has bailed us out time and time again. Mavididi is a dead weight

Because he got a few mins and barely touched the ball. But even so, he played one really nice little pass down the sides and then there was the bit where he rolled their player. Might sound ridiculous to even highlight those but Mavididi has got to the point where it's not just that he is not scoring or assisting, nor that he isn't even creating chances, he's also not even able to keep the game moving. He's slowing everything down and he's completely lost any clarity of thought that he's unable to make even a decisive pass to quickly tick things along. Might not be a season littered with errors (still wasted loads of great openings) but it's far beyond any player I've seen in 30 years in terms of how ineffectual he has been.

Skipp has been good when not partnering Winks. When he plays with Winks, he becomes the most nothing midfielder in existence because he's forced higher up, but not high enough to influence the game (not that it's his skillset anyway). Can't play then together. Monga did more than Mavididi in that 1 little slide pass and when he burst away from his man than Mavididi has done in about 10 games. Plenty of candidates for worst player of the season, but it's not even close with Mavididi. He tries but he's just completely lost the plot

Apart from last game of the season, survival on the line type of thing, this is genuinely a must win. This league is so up and down you don't know what you're going to get but Wednesday are about as much as banker as there is. Just don't back this group to win it

Ok, well I think from watching the game, there was only one team that deserved to win and it wasn't Preston. I don't disagree that the taking our foot of the gas/gifting then goals undermines how much you deserve to win, certainly from an emotional perspective, but we were miles the better side still and we actually managed to sustain some intensity for 45 mins. Had we not done that, we'd be gone for sure. Probably still are because I think we all doubt the credentials of this team to operate under pressure

Look at the stats. We absolutely did. But yet again our own worst enemy and that's probably the first time this season we can whine about being good for a win and not doing so

No, the worst thing is that we go down and that puts us in a total financial tailspin. It's not like when going down to L1 last time turned out to be good for us because we'd stagnated and needed a complete reset. And in the nicest possible way, it's incredibly naive if you think Top and his cronies have the humility to admit they have made mistakes and work on everything they did wrong as a result of dropping to the 3rd tier. If it hasn't happened already, it won't happen in this scenario

Monga's got basically the same output in a fraction of the minutes. He's got loads of scope to improve. He's capable of the unpredictable. Mavididi's defensive work rate is the only thing that makes him a credible choice but even that was non existent yesterday.
