Yippee, he'll be unstoppable for the rest of the season now
-
Wish he stop shooting from there
-
It was an absolutely crazy decision to dive in. Nothing to gain from it. Rightly called out for being a twat.
-
People claim he's our best defender . Doesn't matter if it was a foul or not, why an earth would you slide in there? Absolutely nothing to gain from it. He's too thick to ever be a good defender.
-
What a moron
-
Guess you didn't watch the game on midweek? Because despite the fact he made loads of mistakes, he set up the goal and crazy as it is to say, having him and BDR in the side completely changed the look of team for the better
-
You could start pointing the finger at multiple people every time a goal is scored but inevitably, the focus is on the chief culprit (rightly so). Point was, he had a piss easy situation to deal with and he cocked up. Was that Skipp's fault? Faes? Somebody else? Nope, it was his alone, so he takes the blame, pretty simple.

No, it's the opposite; you're letting 'stats' (which I assumed you'd share as part of your arguement) overrule things that are visible. It is several mistakes, I've just listed the examples to you? Where did I say his lack of pace was a mistake? Please could you point that out? But if you have a weakness or deficiency, you do your best to not let it get exposed over other things to compensate for it. That's a fact of life, not just football. It's what all successful people do. In his case, he can't go diving into tackles or try and nip in to win the ball because if he does that in the wrong part of the pitch and it doesn't come off, he's absolutely screwed. As was the case against West Brom (as I said, he wasn't solely to blame but it's a big error and to not be busting a gut to get back in is unacceptable). Then the Preston game, he's in a shocking position which they take advantage of. These 2 might not go down as errors in your stats but they absolutely are. My criticisms of him are completely objective. I've stated he is good at this level but given several errors, how can we say he's been decent. And again, stats aren't going to show the issues that he causes to the whole team, nor will they show some of the benefits. You can use stats to argue any point. The intelligent way to use them (not a dig at your intelligence in case you think it is) is as a supplement to other types of evidence, that's where the real value is.

What stats? You can prove anything with stats and people obsessed over them now rather than actually watching the game. West Brom, he doesn't need to go for it but if he does, he's got to win the ball. He gets nowhere near in and it actually ends with 6/7 teammates nearer the ball than him. That's not acceptable for a centre back to be jogging back. Faes more culpable I agree but it starts from his poor decision. Last night was embarrassing and he almost followed up a minute later with a dodgy header straight to the Wrexham player who luckily didn't score. Then you've got the Preston game when he embarrasses himself again but getting absolutely slaughtered for pace by a guy who's hardly blistering quick. He's definitely good enough for this level and would be silly to argue otherwise, but he's made several mistakes in just a few games so you can't possibly think he's been decent so far, as his number 1 job is to not make mistakes and be steady. Whilst he provides good ability on the ball, he also slows us down and forces us to sit much deeper than we should be, things that won't show up in stats.

It doesn't matter what happened before it because the defending from Vestergaard was absolutely pathetic. If Thomas had been so lightweight I'd have been beyond embarrassed for him, let alone a man of Jannik's size. Was so easy to deal with that all the blame lies at his feet.
-
No he hasn't. Do people really get blinded by his ability to pass a football under no pressure? He was massively at fault for the goal against West Brom and again at fault for the goal on Tuesday. He's made plenty of other errors as well. He's obviously good enough for this level but he like many others have been pretty poor so far.
-
With Rudkin still calling the shots? A guy with a footballing background and not a business one. Would be absolutely disastrous
-
And we think the owners/leadership team live in cuckoo land?! Why an earth would he come here?
-
One mistake? Vestergaard made 2 big mistakes in 2 mins last night. Faes good for at least 1 a game (managed to get himself booked in the first 25 mins because he thought he was prime Messi, putting himself under big pressure).
-
If Nelson is injured as rumoured, then he didn't have loads of choice with the back 5 did he? Everyone hates VK, Okoli can't pass and Ricardo is made of glass so sensible to bring in Hamza. I probably collectively dislike Faes, JV and Hamza as much as anyone but it was fairly logical why at least 3 of those 4 defenders were chosen.
-
For the most part yes, but there were a few other moments where he was very poor. That really dodgy pass/clearance from Thomas was in the first half was Vestergaard's fault as he was in no man's lands. Straight after the goal, his awful defensive header almost contributed to another goal. And there were definitely other moments. Problem with him is that he has to be absolutely perfect in his positioning because of he is isn't, he gets absolutely burned

No. Play him in that role as he did some great work linking up the play with little bursts dropping back. Would be wasted up top. -
First half we actually played well. But second half was dismal and the first time he's made major errors with his subs
-
Almost another one at his door!
-
Ridiculously bad yes. He can pass a ball under no pressure but back to back games where he's been massively at fault for the goals conceded. That defending was embarrassing for any centre back.
-
Vestergaard absolutely embarrassing
-
Right there shows the massive issue with Vestergaard. If he's slightly out of position, he's done for.
-
He definitely doesn't. Monga's had him a couple of times but he realises it s a struggle doing him for pace so is clever enough to offload the ball when it's not on.
-
Thomas is a lucky boy. Off at half time I hope.
