  1. Great goal. Exactly where James should be playing
  2. Quality. Everyone saying he's had a stinker but he's done loads of great things. Unfortunately just as many terrible bits
  3. Choudhury has these moments when he thinks he's Pirlo and then he quickly gets a dose of reality as the ball goes miles away from where he wants
  4. He's doing all the hard stuff then fluffing everything easy. Depressing thing is that we look so much better with him in the team
  5. Faes; absolutely classic. To be on a yellow so early is bad. But to do it because you think you're Lionel Messi is ridiculous
  6. Billion times more fluid/pacey with this setup
  7. BDR finally looking like a footballer
  8. So apparently Rory's wife got a beer thrown at her yesterday. Rosie didn't even know that had happened so obviously didn't make a fuss about it. Yet the crowd were fine according to Keegan Bradley.
  9. The f*** is he doing there. Get back to being an average footballer.
  10. Still need to win it
  11. Think they'll need to find a new word to describe it!
  12. What a boy!
  13. Was feeling quite anticlimactic after the first couple of hours but what I wouldn't do to have that feeling back! The quality of golf over the 3 days has been exceptional. Even though we were pumping them on the scoreboard, most of those matches were actually pretty close in terms of play (if not result)
  14. Going up is massive. If we had a good long term plan then this time round, I could get the argument that not going up may be beneficial, but there is absolutely no evidence that is the case. Very early but look at the start Sunderland have made. They were starting from a much weaker position than we were last season, yet have managed to recruit brilliantly despite being a smaller club or rather, less attractive given our recent achievements, so there is no excuse for us not to be able to compete. So better to have the PL money with no plans compared to being in the championship with no plan.
  15. There'd be some merit if he was absolutely dominant in lots of games but just switched off. But he isn't that. He can be very good but he never blows you away with a performance even taking out the errors. People often compare him to Soyuncu which is embarrassing. Even at his worst he still made fewer mistakes than Faes does, but at his peak, there were some moments of rashness but he absolutely dominated the opposing attackers. So in his case, if he was a little less rash/maybe had better leadership credentials, he would have been one of the absolute best in the world. Faes could improve everything in his game a little bit, and he still wouldn't be any better than a mid table PL player. Currently he's nowhere near that.
  16. Take the mistakes out and he isn't Wout Faes. He makes a biggish mistake almost every game, not every few games.
  17. The same reactionary people will do, because they have written Nelson off as not good enough after that dreadful first half in the cup. Whereas as others have seen him play a lot more and know that he's much better than that. In the case of Faes, I certainly wasn't calling for him back in the team because he drops a clanger almost every game (there were some other abysmal moments last night aside from the goal). He's not the long term answer, Nelson is. I like Marti and think some of his selections are out of necessity but shunting Nelson down the pecking order is poor.
  18. Yet it will categorically be a net positive for the long term. At worst it gives us a chance to make a little extra money on Nelson, and at best, it gives us a chance to make a lot of money/have a PL quality defender. We know Faes and Vestergaard aren't up to it in the PL. Vestergaard started the game really well on the ball but he still gave it away a few times sloppily and the second he was pressed he struggled. Then look where he was for the goal (not even close to winning the ball) ending up with about 6/7 teammates closer to the ball. But because he can pass a ball without any pressure on, people think he's quality.
  19. defending the indefensible. That's a new thing on here when it comes to our players
  20. If Nelson deserves dropping after his first half in the cup, Faes has to go now and that means Nelson should be the next to get a chance (since a merry go round seems to be the logic)
  21. Hopefully we don't see that type of diving again
  22. He's been absolutely muck. He played some great passes at the start under no pressure but he's massively at fault for the goal and constantly leaving us exposed at the back
  23. These 2 at the back piss me off so much
  24. Molumby should be off. That's a blatant yellow when he should have already been booked
  25. Ref has absolutely lost the plot now
