  1. High risk but actually a pretty smart move.
  2. That's the point I was making? You buy badly, you get stuck with that player so it's much longer before you can buy a replacement. You buy well, you will inevitable have to sell because a bigger club will splash the cash on them. Meaning you have to buy again to replace them.
  3. More like buy badly, buy once since we can't shift them. In football, the phrase is the other way around because if you've bought well, another team will want that player so you're buying another player to replace them.
  4. Depends if you mean hipster because of the over the top tactical analysis or are you a hipster because you know who he is?
  5. Might have picked the wrong sport for that then
  6. Ahh, there's no escape from that meme/phrase!
  7. Am sure them guys don't know nothing about grammer
  8. If there's no context, then that's true. How many English managers actually get a chance at a big club where success is a near guarantee? Fact is, even most championship clubs are looking abroad for managers. I think that was justified at one stage but now it's more than they're never given the chance. People champion somebody who has done 1 good job overseas but the point is, English managers are never given the same opportunity here.
  9. I would much rather an English manager personally but MC could be an excellent choice. QPR another club that is a bit of a mess so he's done a great job overall there. Saving them from relegation in the way he did in the first season was super impressive, especially the way they played.
  10. Why shocking? His QPR team played by far the best football against us last time we were in this league
  11. The funny thing with the Bangladeshi fans is that it's not like he's suddenly become Bangladeshi is it. He's always talked about as being British Asian.
  12. The training videos have mainly focused on the younger players which is interesting. Probably just pure chance rather than anything being well thought out
  13. Memory definitely not as good as you think then
  14. Historically, this view would be absolutely spot on. But Monga and Evans featured a good amount towards the end of the season at 15 and 16 respectively. Alves and Nelson have at least been out on loan now to get some more experience (Nelson not being first choice here instead of the clown show was stupid). Then you've got the fact that the squad on Saturday was littered with players from 16-21 from the academy. The inaction with the manager and potentially transfer ban means the number of incomings will be limited, so probably never a better time to be a young player here as the club may finally be forced into play lots of them.
  15. Come on now, he's just doing his bit for the environment. By that, I mean he's making sure he's got a nice big carbon footprint befitting somebody of his station
  16. The mental thing is despite relegation, this should actually be a really exciting time to support the club. It seems there are a couple of ridiculous talents (Evans/Monga) and then another bunch (almost enough to put out a full teams) of at the least, very exciting with definite PL potential. Never had anything like that. Yet, because of the utter morons in charge, all there is it complete doom and gloom.
  17. It's not even close is it really? Would much rather a Rohl or similar of course but Dyche had actually got a good track record where he's been.
  18. The one thing I would have expected from the club is that they'd want to do a bit of PR control with the management appointment after the Cooper fiasco (which is why they choose RvN). To then go and get Wilder would be completely counter to that point.
  19. Pretty isolated. Did some good stuff coming deep for the ball but just a bit of a non- performance
  20. Jesus. Tell us how you really feel about him. He was absolutely fine. I have absolutely no strong feelings about Coady and getting rid of him for a few million would be a great result. I do agree that he's not been a great signing. However, some of that is a bit of our his control as he was injured at the start of the championship season which meant he couldn't break in. But to suggest he's our worst signing ever is beyond hyperbolic, especially when you're replying to a post talking about Vestergaard and Faes who both cost double and are much more calamitous.
  21. Couple of years at Bristol City under Nige and then Manning. Informally at first then made a player coach. So not vast but he has a bit under his belt
  22. Exactly why I'm not keen on him being manager in this scenario. The expectation of where we should be and the reality given the current scenario might not match up well meaning the manager is under more pressure. And bear in mind there's a huge chunk on here who don't view him as a legend but possibly a 'cult hero' if they're feeling generous, and he's probably already up against it with some.
  23. People will scoff at it, but his reading of the game was absolutely top drawer. Just a lack of physically and probably a selfishness that stopped him going to the very top. He'll be an excellent coach. Will he be ruthless enough to be a good manager? Not sure but he is an absolute must to keep around.
  24. If you're a club that has been in the PL for basically the past decade, including CL/EL football and you can't afford a few quid for a manager, how badly are you run?
  25. Think this reinforces the gulf in the leagues for all the doomsayers (in terms of the quality of player we have). Justin in particular looks way beyond most on the pitch. And this has just reinforced that Monga is the real deal. The way he can shrug people off the people is telling.
