I think the older players we have brought in will want to prove to their old clubs (or current ones) that they shouldn't have been sold or loaned out. Only time will tell but I think they will do alright, at least they should be given a chance before we right them off.

The massive positive I see in this is that Soumare can't get anywhere near this team either. Should be a win, but we know how these go. Ricky P to play himself into the Prem starting 11.

Now I thoroughly enjoyed that, backs to the wall, but when we got the ball we tried to get it forward. May be in the minority but I'd much rather have these games where have show fight, and get at teams than the keep ball, passing between defenders borefest. There's going to be some absolute smashings along the way but we will get the excitement back inside the stadium. Also, can I say I like the new pen VAR ruling, if the ref says no, we play on. Much better than worrying for 2 minutes that a VAR check was going to give a pen against. It's the first Prem game with VAR where it wasnt mentioned or caused a pausing to the game (didn't think of this until I was home). Much improved.

Usually I dont take anything from preseason but this is proper concerning. People can't pass, tackle, take a man on, and looking like basics not happening. Doesn't even look like the lads are trying to improve fitness, just walking about. Minimal effort, however, That may be because of the heat (I ****ing hope anyway).

You can add to that that they will have Premier league players attacking and taking the chances that the championship strikers missed when we gifted chances early on in the season.
