...they are going to try and emulate, Leeds and Middlesborough and go man to man, they see how effective that has been!!! We need to put a team to the sword to alleviate any temptation of pressing us. If they are on the back foot with a low block we will take that, we do tend to lose our composure when we are pressed.

...noticeable, from this clip, that McAteer should have been on the move forward to get into the "half space" or the channel!!! From where Nacho is and where he (McAteer) is standing, Nacho cannot find him with a direct pass, but McAteer has the drop on their #27 who is on the half turn, with McAteer in his blind spot That movement would have triggered a pass from Nacho, where the opposition would have had one defender sitting deeper trying to cover a large area..

...Pearson Mk 2!!!

...when it comes down to it, it is QPR, I have no idea what their protocols are!!! If you know something is wrong and yet choose to do it, you will only have yourself to blame. The idea itself is not outlandish and no doubt could work with the collaboration of the club, I am not decrying the idea, it was just a poor choice made by a group or individual.
-
...we get something from the Chelsea game and there will be players from mid-table clubs looking across to see what we are doing!!! We do not have to spend a lot if we can encourage one or two of those better mid-table players to come our way.

...it may sound harsh, but the information that was given was that he stood on a chair, and whatever else took place when confronted, I do not know!!! Unless we are privy to what actually happened in this instance, it is hard to say whether this punishment was or was not justified.

...he should have expected some type of pushback for that, we all know that standing on seats is not allowed!!! Just because he states that he is trying to enhance the atmosphere, he is still flouting the rules. Unless a group speaks to the club and suggests what they would like to do and then gain permission, then he has no right not to expect his actions to be frowned upon.

...and it tends to be lesser crowds making bigger noise!!! The culture is different, I watch the Jupiler League at times and the crowd are making their own entertainments whilst the game is in play. You have people leading the chants, megaphones are in use and the use of smoke grenades are all too visible. Fans bouncing up and down, even when they are losing, just watching this type of atmosphere makes you want to be there.

...perhaps our wingers could benefit from that advice!!!
-
...they look at the bench as the "finishers" of the game, the ones you bring on for the extra legs to maintain a certain tempo or tighten up at the back!!! The depth is not quite there and sometimes players are kept on longer than they should be. The conditioning level needs to be right up there, it probably is not where it should be at the moment.

...seem to have the knack of scoring first at the moment, we just need to believe we are good enough to win these games without dropping our levels to safeguard our leads!!!
-
...if Maresca holds to his beliefs then Vardy is going to be coming too deep to receive the ball, that just makes him ineffective, as in previous games!!! I would suspect Cannon would be given a different remit and be asked to play higher up the pitch. With his aerial ability and nous, he could be the game changer that we need to offset our predictable approach. We put crosses into the box where we have no one who is proficient at heading the ball, so we might not waste the attacking situations as much as we are prone to do. A striker who is inclined to gamble and run across the defender at the near post, or has the instinct to take a step back out of the defender's peripheral vision to gain an advantage. I think Cannon has Vardy's nous, I want Maresca to start him on Saturday.

...is the position advertised the role that Jim does!!! I thought he was just someone in a customer service capacity, that did his role very well. He certainly garnered several accolades from posters on here, and I would have thought this role would have been something that he already had a feel for and would be the sensible member of staff to approach.

...just for information!!!

...it was the Soumare /Tielemans double pivot that was the alarming choice!!!

...it is the way you go about the job that matters!!! You see the big boys when they are in the ascendancy, they are relentless and do not look to add any additional flair to how they play, just forensically dissect their opponents. This may seem a silly analogy but, imagine if you were playing against 10-year-olds and your team (grown men) had to score 200 goals or every player on your team forfeit £1000. Perhaps for the first 5 or 10 minutes, you might want to showboat, but there is a job to be done, so you become more clinical in everything you do to achieve the goal. It is that mindset he is looking to instil, there is nothing to prove whilst showboating, but developing a mindset where systematically ripping teams apart becomes the norm is something to cultivate.

...come to think of it, where is @Foxhateram!!!

...I would suspect it is very much to do with success!!! We have laboured in this league for three seasons, we lack the names that your Arsenal and Chelsea carry and very much interlopers in this division. There is scope to build a team to be giving the big clubs a good game, we just need to assemble a team where we are discerning in what we do.

...pun intended!!! -
...you are right, the mindset is the key!!! It was Evans I believe when interviewed stated that the players were aware of the record scoreline for the Premier league and the players set themselves a goal to achieve that. Rodgers himself was on the touchline in the driving rain encouraging his players. To have achieved what they achieved on that night, where they could have rested at 5-0 or less, took discipline, as the whole team was working to a cause. We needed to show that thought and mindset to the WBA game, we were comfortably in the lead but not the mindset to repeat the Southampton exploits. Irrespective of the quality of Southampton on that night, we set ourselves a target and worked incessantly to achieve it. All I, and I believe Rodgers wanted, was for the team to adopt that mindset in that moment.
-
...I am no Rodgers fan, but at the time I totally agreed with him that what we were doing on the pitch was overplaying and lacking discipline!!! What he wanted to see was clinical finishing and approach to the game, not fancy moves and over exaggerated passes. If memory serves me we, were also wasteful against Arsenal around that time and should have beaten them but overplayed once again. This team was about to catch fire, the players did not understand that a clinical approach aligned with confidence was what he (Rodgers) was looking for. .

...that is also how I see it, but this problem would have been encountered by Pep and an answer would have been worked out!!! I did expect whatever was thrown at him would have been something he had previously encountered and it would not have fazed him. He seems to be looking at his ability to defend, with the midfield constantly looking over their shoulders.
-
... wherever he wants, but yes predominately on the left!!!
-
...he does look as if he has the right temperament, he seems capable of playing in a robust league!!! From the YouTube clips, he tries to stay on his feet whilst he is being pulled back, which just shows the strength of character, he plays much the same as KDH, he looks to drive forward and can pick a pass, should we pick him up in the January window I would not envisage any problems with him settling into our midfield.
