  1. Very good though. Got written twice on here by the same poster so it must be true.
  2. You'd have crucified Rae for not even mentioning the catcher at FOW, which happened twice while I was able to listen in their innings.
  3. In fairness to Bashir, he's been holding up an end since moving to Derbyshire. Hope it translates for England as they clearly still fancy him.
  4. 2-2 draw? My second game ever at Filbo if that's the one.
  5. Kelly skippered New Zealand in a T20 the other week. We're not leaving him out of anything unless we have to.
  6. Good time to break for the Blast, I think...
  7. Looking with envy at how well Glamorgan are doing. Feels like they've really attacked the season with the surprise factor of a newly-promoted side in a way we haven't. Broadly, we've looked respectable, but it still feels like a bit of a missed opportunity.
  8. I suspect if their commentary pool was centralised, they would. It's a Radio Leicester decision.
  9. I know he's not to everyone's tastes, but today really did emphasise that Rae will be a loss to the commentary circuit.
  10. Imagine they want him fresh for the Blast. Like Somerset at Taunton, they're the biggest sports club in the town/city where they play. Big catchment area too. As you point out, East London, plus parts of Herts, Suffolk and probably even Norfolk too.
  11. Imagine they'd release him to play for us in time. Definitely for the best as it would have destroyed his career. Derbyshire have put their faith in him and he's not really let them down so far, goes at less than 3 an over and has as many wickets for them as he did in three years with Somerset!
  12. Yeah, I've never heard of Robert Jenrick either.
  13. Yeah, if you're talking before the current influx of southern yuppies then I can only really remember the odd person who was a "proper" football fan who supported someone other than Leicester. Mind you, give my dues to the four blokes who used to rock up to The Loaf in Northampton Town shirts on a Saturday night. Used to get some Arsenal due to wartime evacuees coming from their part of London and settling in Harborough afterwards.
  14. The vast majority there are Leicester and you see more LCFC gear than you ever did when I was a kid. Also arguably the only Leics town where, if people there support a local-ish club, it's only ever Leicester.
  15. Think we need a spinner in there. They’ll want a turning track for Carson. Plus, doubt we'll drop an overseas unless they're utterly honking in both disciplines.
  16. Exactly. Lack of willingness to embrace our club's identity has left a vacuum that too many have filled by embracing King Power as their identity instead. Belt out WYS. You'll all feel better if you do.
  17. Swear in player profiles in Match (and our programmes too?) one of the questions was always "Whose boots did you clean as an apprentice?"
  18. What a shot on that yellow.
  19. Yeah, being slightly facetious saying that and, as someone who thinks club No.3s who refuse to open are complete fannies, I'm fine with it.
  20. Only worry is that, like Duckett, he's batting three for his county and would be opening for England. Suppose if the incumbent Test No.3 is currently better served never batting for his county at all then it's not a problem...
  21. Agree with a lot of that and I'm a Budinger fanboy, but the current opening partnership is the thing in our batting that's delivering right now. It'd be daft to change that while we have Weatherald. Holland below Cox and everyone else up one. Gives Hill a purpose as the calming presence after Patel and Weatherald too, rather than just being the backup for Holland doing that job.
  22. Bizarre game that we'll have lost at the toss. But I will say it's good to see us fight three times (twice with nat and once with ball) in situations that have really looked completely lost. That's what we need to take from this. Look at the two XIs and who of ours gets in a combined one? Cox maybe as the better keeper and Weatherald over Slater (if only on paper - in reality you'd rely on Slater every day of the week to deliver in the Championship for you). The reality is we're up against a team whose players could mostly make some kind of case for England recognition at the moment.
  23. That is some serious battling low down. Likely still lose this but that should give is confidence against the best bowling attack we've faced so far.
  24. It'd be a decent walk but doable. The regular Sixes buses drop you outside the King William in Milford (also worth a visit) and then it's 5 mins walk to the Holly Bush. Pretty sure you have to walk that way to cross the river anyway - if you do get off at Duffield, pop into the Town Street Tap. As @Stadt mentions, you can then have a nice (if hilly) walk to the Dead Poets, about 25 mins on from Makeney.
