  1. Claimed it was UEFA protocol (it isn't) and a Government stipulation (it wasn't). KP themselves clearly knew nothing about either but it typifies the culture at LCFC under them. Zero respect for fans or the truth.
  2. Is there anything stopping other fans from stepping up and leading a boycott themselves? If the people on this thread asking if anyone else is leading action grouped together and led it themselves, the movement would be on easy street.
  3. I could imagine it... I can't imagine more than a couple of hundred actually doing it. It wouldn't work right now. Most in the ground don't care. Those who do need to make themselves more visible and audible.
  4. I like Kimber but this is very bizarre. Surely you just give it to Cox? Does make me wonder if England have had a quiet word in case Patel needs to keep himself free around that time...
  5. Decent interview with Hull: https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/england-premium/josh_hull_interviewbefore_got_phone_call_never_thought_was_ready.html?t=638773102169894386
  6. It's sort of how most international friendships start really, it's usually either through groundhopping or guys who moved somewhere for work. Until our recent history we had a lot in common with Bochum though - same colours, yo-yo clubs, unsuccessful in the finals of our nation's top cup competition, two rivals who claim bot to care about us.
  7. Beautiful down the West Rhein Railway too. Done it twice with Bochum, fell asleep in the away end the first time (train had set off at midnight for a 3.30pm kick-off the next day).
  8. First win in Munich against them in 34 years. Be a lively Football Special (complete with disco carriage and bar) back through the night tonight!
  9. I'm from Harborough and it was always Forest and Derby still. We're too far east to have had any Cov crossover. Just hate them all. Keeps it nice and easy.
  10. Absolutely despise them for their horrendous rip-off songbook. Worst in the country for nicking others' unique chants.
  11. Personally always want our rivals in a lower league than us but, yeah, bring it on if they stay up. None of this "don't really care, just another game, blah blah..." nonsense about any of our local rivals. Enjoy it, it's what football's all about.
  12. That might be what I was thinking of, didn't realise it was that recent! In the 70s, they probably rioted every time an England player walked out to bat.
  13. Basically the below... I do love the Caribbean but England only ever play on the most touristy islands now - Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua - and it always sounds like Sweet Caroline etc being blasted out instead of soca, reggae etc. And people wonder why the locals ain't arsed. Feel for the hardcore England fans who never get to experience Trini, Sabina, Guyana and so on despite us touring there seemingly every year. As for Oz, wasn't it Sydney where they rioted in the 70s because they introduced a BYOB limit of one crate per person?
  14. Never going to turn that down if I ever get the chance, but do hate how the grounds/islands seem to have Anglicised their offering in recent years. Surely the best part of going there is for the local atmosphere and culture?
  15. Had been planning on 2021/22. Might get there in a couple of decades now...
  16. It's not just a local level. You'd find similar changes anywhere in the country. The industry gave news away for free online. People got used to it. People stopped paying. The industry has no money to invest. The industry declines in quality.
  17. Seen reports of Banbury fans attacking Harborough yesterday.
  18. Pretty sure Durham had been sniffing. Their interest may have cooled after they signed Gay, though.
  19. Like I say, short-term it did give some players desperately short of confidence the attitude they needed to succeed. But that's not developed into a proper strategy and has instead led to a to a culture of complacency and pig-headedness (whether you belief the jibes about golf or not) that means winning is always treated as secondary. That's pervaded all three squads, so we're a nation who were 50-over world champions just over five years ago but now have only one bloke in the whole country who seems to understand how to construct an innings in that format. Ultimately though, like at LCFC, the blame lays above any coach or manager - and people have seen it coming for years. This was always going to happen to a country who treat their own domestic structure as an inconvenience and put financial gain above the health of the national team.
  20. The culture is all wrong. It's gone from trying to give average players confidence to actively celebrating stupidity and poor cricket. It's not just him though. The whole structure of English cricket has been destroyed to make embarrassments like this inevitable. Even if he were to go, he'd just be a scapegoat for many others - some of whom have already escaped scot-free with fat pay-offs.
  21. A few on here predictably playing the man and not the ball because it's a Trust statement. Maybe strap on some boots yourselves instead of moaning on the internet? It's not exactly hard to get involved with fan groups advocating for change if you genuinely care.
  22. So get involved and help to organise them. Nobody else is going to do it for you.
  23. I've met one of the people listed and definitely wouldn't have them in here based on that encounter.
  24. Because they hold the cricket world to ransom.
