Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Bluearmyfox28 replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
Not fully true to be honest. Often agents have agreements with the club making the transfer, that they’ll pay the loss of loyalty fee’s within their signing on fee. Sacha would have been all over a transfer request. I wouldn’t expect to see Bilal in a matchday squad until after the transfer window closes if he does stay. -
Completely agree. There’s two ways of looking at it, 1) our wage structure identifies your role within the squad. Or 2) the overall financial package it would cost the club. Sadly with PSR I think the majority of clubs now work from the second point rather than the first. The one thing I would say though is IF he has a goal/assist return that he has had in his previous 2 championship seasons, then Brownhill would be a key player for us which adds to the perspective.

Well I think it’s fair to say Aluko, Nelson, Monga, Bausor, Page and Alves are firmly included in the first team numbers this season especially as depth options. Who’s our 3rd choice then? Because we definitely aren’t signing another senior pro for the role.
-
For context, our squad currently consists of: 3x goalkeepers 3x right back (Including Hamza) 3x left back (Including Aluko) 5x centre backs (Including Souttar) 4x centre mid / defensive mid (Including Page) 2x attacking mid (Including Alves) 2x right wingers (Including BDCR) 2x left wingers 2x strikers That’s a total of 27 players and without including any position versatility such as Aluko and Woyo offering cover to both fullback spots, Ayew being able to play in the attacking mid etc. As well as not including fringe academy players such as Silko Thomas. We still need to sell another fullback before we even have an actual balanced squad. Then you need to sell further to bring in replacements. The only positions that require a signing prior to further sale is a striker, attacking midfielder (dependent on how Marti views Alves) and a centre mid.

With regards to his wages should we offer him £60k a week on a 3 year deal that total package would cost us £9.3m. For context, that’s the equivalent of us signing someone on a £30k a week contract (£4.6m across 3 years) and a transfer fee of £4.7m. Which most would be very happy with. So truthfully from an overall package perspective, I think £60k a week for a free agent is manageable. However, it solely depends on how much he wants as a signing on fee. As that changes the maths considerably.

Now things get interesting with regards to how much our incomings were dependent on Bilal’s sale. -

Palace moved on? -
The squad is still way too big. The only two positions that don’t require us selling players to bring more in are a striker and box to box midfielder / defensive midfielder (dependent on where Marti see’s Winks’ role).

Agree with most that you state, however, I think this is the case for most recently promoted clubs. The Premier League is broken. -

I think it’s hard to say that on the basis we are in for Stengs who’s supposedly gonna cost £5m. Could be a loan option though, time will tell. -

Yeah I’ve just caught up with other threads, I clearly missed the vibe everyone is on -
I have an odd feeling we are in for both Stengs and Rego.

Golding cost £5m on a 4 year deal. Literally costing us around £1.25m a year. -
Be rude not too. Supposedly available for £5m, recent article about the rumours to Celtic. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/calvin-stengs-breaks-celtic-cover-35780832?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button

I do wonder if we are after two players that can play the “10”. Marti has shown he’s not the biggest fan of Alves and I could see him going out on loan again. Rego and Stengs?
-
£15m for Cresswell would be awful business with our needs. I would argue a centre back is 5th in pecking order behind a cm, Striker, left back and CDM. Chilwell is on over £100k and is shite now.

Would love him to stay on the basis we can still make moves in the market. If our incomings are dependent on his fee to allow us to bring in 3/5 players. Then for the better of the overall squad and Marti getting the players he wants for his system, then we have to sell. -

Don’t get me wrong I can’t stand the guy, the sooner he goes the club can move forward. My point is in terms of outgoings this summer he’s done a good job. Am I going to say “he’s changed” or “give him another chance” fvck that! Tom Collomose seems to have an insider at the club and he suggested that Rudkin was taking a step back and Glover was taking a more prominent role, so there’s an element of me that’s curious to whether this is Rudkin’s work or Glover’s. -
But even with the signings you say he deserves criticism for…. VK was classed as one of the hottest left back prospects and we was all very happy with his signing. Then with Tete on paper it felt like we struck gold, he’s just the typical case of not adapting to English football and his confidence has been shot since.
-
I’ll be honest though, I do trust Glover given he’s not restricted. I’m not holding anything against him for last year I’m putting that all on Cooper.
-
Must be looking to replace Kasey, surprised though with us still having BDCR. Don’t think he plays in the “10” role at all?
