I do wonder if we are after two players that can play the “10”. Marti has shown he’s not the biggest fan of Alves and I could see him going out on loan again. Rego and Stengs?

£15m for Cresswell would be awful business with our needs. I would argue a centre back is 5th in pecking order behind a cm, Striker, left back and CDM. Chilwell is on over £100k and is shite now.

Would love him to stay on the basis we can still make moves in the market. If our incomings are dependent on his fee to allow us to bring in 3/5 players. Then for the better of the overall squad and Marti getting the players he wants for his system, then we have to sell.

Don’t get me wrong I can’t stand the guy, the sooner he goes the club can move forward. My point is in terms of outgoings this summer he’s done a good job. Am I going to say “he’s changed” or “give him another chance” fvck that! Tom Collomose seems to have an insider at the club and he suggested that Rudkin was taking a step back and Glover was taking a more prominent role, so there’s an element of me that’s curious to whether this is Rudkin’s work or Glover’s.

But even with the signings you say he deserves criticism for…. VK was classed as one of the hottest left back prospects and we was all very happy with his signing. Then with Tete on paper it felt like we struck gold, he’s just the typical case of not adapting to English football and his confidence has been shot since.

I’ll be honest though, I do trust Glover given he’s not restricted. I’m not holding anything against him for last year I’m putting that all on Cooper.

Marti would have spoken to each first team player individually asking if they want to stay at the club, if they said no, then see you later. Couldn’t care if you’re the best defender or not. I think this has played a huge role in Marti’s starting 11 too with Faes and Winks starting on the bench.

JJ is a strange one, if selling him means we get a replacement left back, then bank the money. If it doesn’t then I would rather he stays.

Anyone judging Marti already needs to give their head a wobble. All week we say if people don’t wanna be here then they shouldn’t be playing but then throw a strop when the likes of Winks or Faes aren’t starting. It’s clear they don’t want to be here so **** them! Marti’s got his hands tied behind his back currently and if anything I respect him for not giving in and just playing the best 11 instead he’s focusing on people that want to be here whether we like them players or not. Personally, I’m making no judgements until the window is closed. Even then he might need more time depending on how he gets backed.

When you actually sit back and think of the squad we have and Marti not wanting a big squad, I think we will only bring in 3 players. A box to box midfielder, Bilal’s replacement & a new striker. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Josh Brownhill, Joao Rego and Ivanovic. With the latter costing £10m and the other two costing nothing for this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if we sell Bilal £32m, JJ £7m and Hamza for £5m. That’ll leave us with raising £84m (book value profit of £63m) and transfer expenditure of £10m. Complete PSR reset year.
