I’m more pis*ed because I want to do an in-depth analysis of our incoming manager and every time I go to start, the name keeps changing!!!

And I’ve always stated I want to be a millionaire but sadly I’m not and won’t be unless a miracle happens. Point I’m making is it’s fine wanting something but evidence has shown he’s been unable to implement this at the clubs he’s been at. If the club has just believed someone’s word without looking at the tape then we are even more of a shambles than I thought we was.

Moyes does NOT want any other job right now he’s publicly stated this, please stop stating Moyes when he’s ruled himself out of ANY job.

It’s crazy to me that in football people can come in and just ignore everything. The most important voice is the fan base yet we are stuck in a corner with no ability to do anything. People will fight to death to back Top, Rudkin and co despite them charging kids to meet there heroes, 30% increase on match day tickets and a £25 charge for physical season ticket holders that a lot of the older generation will have to pay due to not understanding modern day technology. All of this happening whilst we are in a cost of living crisis. I’m fortunate to be able to afford a season ticket but it’s gutting to see so many not be able to support the club they love. The club put us in a heap of sh*t and sadly it seems they see charging fans more as a way to get out of the mess whilst taking no accountability as the answer. Shameful and disgusting. Im slowly losing my love for this club but I’m dumb enough to still go every week to back the lads. (posted this in the managerial thread, where as realistically it should of been in this thread)

It’s not that I would be bothered if Potter turned us down as I think most of us expected for that to be the case, it’s the fact we’ve decided to go for Cooper instead of Corberan. People talking about the £4m if you give him a 4 year contract that’s £1m a year! Cooper gets so much buzz but ultimately he got through his time at Forest through emotion. They could only pick up points at home as their fans were truly like the 12th man and with the relationship between our fan base and club that’s not going to be recreated the way forest did. As for Potter if he has yet again turned us down (is this the 3rd time?) then I hope he’s off future shortlists, no point wasting time with him anymore. Massively underwhelming.

When I see fixture releases the only thing I am interested in is the first and last 5 games of the season. First 5 is tricky, 4/5 points would be a nice return. But the last 5 games look very promising for us, could easily pick up 9 points if not more depending on if teams like Bournemouth have nothing to play for.

How have you jumped to that conclusion then you are a strange fella

It’s boggling my brain brother For example, Souttar we signed for £15m, 18 months ago. I’ve seen many state that we need to sell him for around £11m for the books to balance and not show as a loss on the books. yet if we got £10m for him and that full amount shows on the books for this year, but only an outcost of £3m this year due to the length of his contract, surely that would show as a £7m profit this year no? Obviously I am aware that you’ll still have to pay the reminder of the fee across other years but a year like this year where we are desperate for funds to avoid another points deduction then surely it’s worth biting the bullet?

There’s levels to it though. Most companies have a manager you don’t like, think he’s bit of a d*ck. Then you have managers who you point blank try to avoid because you despise them that much and usually that becomes more of a personal/personality issue rather than simply being a manager. Rudkin is the latter.

So let’s say we was to appoint Corberan tomorrow whilst paying the £4m release fee. If we was to offer him a 4 year contract, it would show as £1m outcost per year for the 4 years, but this year would show a £10m income for Enzo? Effectively meaning this year would show a profit of £9m from managerial change?

Completely agree with this, however, my worry is we are practically on our knees trying to sell the project to Potter. Not saying this is the case, but if he’s not fully committed then move on, the club has too much uncertainty around it already the last thing we need is someone in charge who have doubts. If the players pick up on this vibe then you’ve got a Rodgers situation all over again. Playing devils advocate similar to your original post, I guess this comes down to personality, if you are a man who builds the relationship on trust then you take their word for it despite any fears that you have. It’s a sh*t show all round to be honest and stinks of telling someone what they want to hear to get them in as it’ll be tomorrows problem. Which I feel is happening right now with Potter too.

I think the “no lose challenge” depends on the length of the contract personally. If the club gets relegated depending on the length of your contract you run the risk of getting stuck in the championship. It’s another reason I want Corberan because I believe should we get relegated, obviously depending on the style we get relegated, we can stick with a manager and a style.

Really? I thought Fofana’s deal we received the payments across the length of his contract not in one sum?

For someone already employed I would find it strange if they are to go through this entire process to then not take the job.

Genuinely a shame this didn’t happen when Enzo was in charge, could see him building an identity in the academy.

Completely agree with you, but KP is going no where, however, people like Rudkin can go. The one thing I will say is Vichai was a business man and he did his communicating through his decision making. If people weren’t performing they were replaced simple as that. It caused controversy but we as a fan base at the time liked the fact we had an owner who didn’t want all the media attention as we knew any decision making was done with clubs best interest at heart and I personally trusted his decision making. The club misses that element of ruthlessness and I think it’s fair to say last seasons end of season review would not have gone the way it did, many changes would have been made, I firmly believe that. Ultimately we don’t know how invested Top really is in the club. It was his dad’s passion and dream that due to awful circumstances he’s had to take over and continue in his dad’s legacy. Many times he’s been quoted stating along the lines “I will do this for my father” it’s never what he wants.

Yup. I find it very strange that because of historic success, you effectively can’t question or want rid of any individuals and that you should always be grateful regardless of continuous mistakes. A comment such as we all make a mistake is fair, but to make the same mistake over and over is just stupidity and in any other job you would get the sack regardless of how liked you are or how well you did in the past. The loyalty to some individuals is weird.
