I would definitely take Fofana in the deal. Truly believe if he gets a manager that fills him with confidence that he could be really good. Quick, good vision, dribbling ability and can hold the ball up. If you shown me these highlights of him at Molde, he would be one of my main targets.

Respectfully what was Enzo supposed to do? He stated he didn’t want to play in a back 3? first of all it was in the past from Enzo’s perspective and secondly why would he question key players attitudes/behaviours that are staying, for a lad not staying. The problem is it is all subjective, their counter argument will be how do you determine a young players value with the market being the way it currently is for youth players regardless of the obvious reasoning behind the prices, so many teams involved makes it hard to challenge. Man City did it in the smartest way buying younger academy products with sky high potential and coaching them up and selling them for a profit, players like Harwood-Bellis will continue that trend this summer. Buying youth does not show on PSR, however the income received for them does. Which for me is stupid in its own right and is now takes away a big element of scouting local kids or sticking with them and coaching weaknesses, when you have a free pass to just go and buy a replacement for them instead. If this is the route football starts taking, less kids will get the opportunities in academies, especially in the later years.

I think for me whilst I agree with the majority of what you are saying, the continuous lack of communication to fans and ignorance of the everyday fan's experience are not excusable regardless of the above. Take Union FS as a prime example, they have pushed for safe standing, they have sent requests regarding tifo's which appear to be ignored. Despite last season Enzo showing how vital that section of fans were and have been, yet this is continued to be ignored even with managers stating their importance. This is without even going down the route of discussing people's roles such as John Rudkin. Whilst as a collective no one could of expected the relegation session and they have made some good decision making to fix that, some things should not be ignored as they are not excusable, especially when it is relating to the heartbeat of the club (fans).

First of all I wouldn’t say Corberan failed, this year the championship was one of the hardest it’s been in a long time and he got WBA into the play offs with literally no money to spend. but I was comparing the two from a tactical set up perspective.

For me it wasn’t about getting someone playing the exact same style of Maresca but at the same time it was more about sticking to an attack minded possession based philosophy, who accommodates the playing squad we already have. That’s why I wanted Corberan badly, as I truly believed he ticked all the boxes. Don’t get me wrong, there’s an article stating Cooper has hired someone to analyse his own management, we may very well see a completely different style of play now he’s had some time out of the game to reflect. But based off current evidence I don’t think Cooper’s style or formation suits our current playing squad. But I would state, it’s nothing personal to Cooper as a manager or his ability as a manager. I love the fact he approached us regarding the job and showed he wanted to be here and I hope to be proven wrong, and will be the first to admit I was wrong and that I didn’t think it would suit the current squad.

Other than playing more of a low block off the ball, he played close to identical on the ball in the championship and in the premier league. You also have missed the bigger picture of my point, I’m not against Cooper. Do I find it underwhelming? Yes. My main point was our recruitment targets/extension of contracts will be based around a specific style of play. A style of play that does not suit Cooper’s style. Therefore the club failing with a “contingency plan”. That ultimately sets up our current squad to potentially fail, Cooper to potentially fail by not having the right players for his system and new recruits to fail due to not being the right fit resulting in millions of pounds potentially wasted once again. In a recent article (I think it was Tanner, but not sure) they stated the board wanted someone to work closely with Glover, stating it was key to find someone who identifies with the same style of play. Think about it, all of Glover’s targets are going to be suitable for a possession based team. Therefore Cooper is going to have to adjust once again, which is fine but it’s not playing to a managers strengths. I want Cooper to succeed I really do, I’m just sick of the clubs scatter gun approach of different styles and philosophies. It weren’t too long ago they want the RB template hence Jessie Marsh being offered the job, now it’s Manchester City. There’s no clear plan for anyone to work too and ultimately shows no clear direction.

I think the majority want the lads and Cooper to do well, I know I certainly do but I can still be unhappy with the clubs decision making. Once again we’ve been sold an idea of possession based football, an identity that we brought into, unfortunately Cooper is not that. His formations go against our strength In players and he’s not a possession based manager. You may think I’m obsessed with having a possession based manager but it’s not that, it’s the fact all of our transfer recruits have now been identified to fit a certain style of play that Cooper is not known for, likely resulting in poor recruitment once again.

Again this is bit of a myth, he played counter attacking football in the championship and the premier league. The difference is premier league sides dominate with possession where as championship sides aren’t capable of that level of domination, hence why the first half of the season we was winning the way we were and the reason why Cooper’s championship possession stats look slightly better. It was quality of opposition, not style of play. I will back any manager until they give me a reason not to but this narrative that he’s a possession based manager is not true, at least evidence proves otherwise. Hence why this appointment is so confusing after the statements regarding wanting possession based management. I truly believe the club haven’t watched the footage and have based a decision from an interview as it doesn’t add up.

This is what I find so confusing, it wasn’t just reports, Top himself stated he wanted someone to continue the style that was built. Cooper often talks about demanding possession but his best season (getting Forest promoted) his team averaged 50% possession whilst in the championship and was known for being a counter attacking team? Confusing to me.

It’s clearly cooper it’s been stated to be confirmed in next 24/48 hours.

I feel like I need to know more… who had the final say? Who wanted who? What were cooper’s terms? How did Rudkin demonstrate his power? many questions if you could answer any! Appreciate your info.

What I find more confusing is why Potter thinks he’s practically guaranteed the England job! For me personally I would want Eddie Howe in the role.
